So darn cool! I bet you guys go through a lot of bits (chisels). I’m a stone carver. I’m really digging how your using sandblasting for detail preparation. Excellent!! Great video again.
It was fantastic seeing how the fossils are prepared. I don't know how you work around those fossils without cutting into them. Thanks for showing some of the process.
All these tools, watching it peal back the layers of stone....so incredibly satisfying! I could watch this all day! Especially the air one! Lol The lobster turned out great!
Thanks for that. I have several ice cream cartons full of lobster nodules from the Late Jurassic in NZ. They do not split well and I was interested to see how you would prep them with the tools.
Hi mate, it took a while but I finally worked out where things were on the lobster, great job of prepping there. Personally I really don’t think I could do the prepping, too much patience required. Keep these coming and stay COVID free and healthy. Cheers. From Aussie.
Honestly these videos are absolutely insane and it really inspires me to go find some fossils, but I doubt I'll be able to find any outside of the Quarry Park I live next to...
what preparation tools would you recommend for a beginner? I am thinking of getting some in the future but don't know where to begin. It would be to prep Yorkshire coast fossils.
As a Carboniferous fossil collector, it's great to see some Jurassic examples. Great prep work, and a pretty rare find.
I usually prepare my Lobsters in a big pot of boiling water :)
Those are really awesome.
Cheers,

That lobster fossil was very cool.

First, hedgehogs! Then awesome lobster fossils. Great job guys!
I thought they were chubby squirrels! :P (we don't have hedgehogs here)
Pixilate U We don’t have wild ones in Canada either, but we do have one as a pet.

That looked like a really difficult prep due to all those little features of the lobster. Good job.

That is a nice set up you guys have!
Fascinating
Is the fossil usually somewhat harder than the matrix? And what material do you use in the sand blasting process? Great video. Love the hedgehogs.
Now if you can just find some Jurassic butter, you got a meal
Lol nice
Old bay seasoning goes well with "rock" lobster!
Wow. I’ve subbed 🙂
Do you display all of your finds somewhere?
