Hey guys! Today on the show, I drive a Porsche 911 (997) Turbo, putting down around 500 HP and 500 LB/FT of Torque to all four wheels. With the help from a few bolt-on parts and tuning from our friends down at Protomotive, this grand touring version of the 997-generation 911 is just about everything you could ever want out of a daily sports car. It's quiet when you want it to be, comfortable all the time, and best of all it's got kick-you-in-the-back kind of torque that just never lets up. Enjoy! - Marcus

I always love the people that dig on a Turbo Tip...its a 911 Turbo, those hands belong on the wheel.
I still want that 911 Turbo(997). Every time I see one featured I get concerned that none will be left when I do decide to get one.
i was so sad that my dad missed the opportunity to by awesome mineral grey one at 68k Canadian last winter with only 52000 kilometres(((
Hundreds in Australia mate, i'm sure you will get your hands on one :)
Seems like a blast to drive!
Mezger engine in the 996 (2001-2005) turbos and 997.1 turbos (2007-2009) is going to be very long lived and will help these cars hold value. Having said that, they built a ton (+/- 20K) of each of the 996 and 997 models, so I don't think they go up in value like prior generations of turbos (930, 964, 993) that had +/- 5K production run figures. 996 t and 997.1 t's = great cars to buy, maintain and drive to 200K+ without the guilt of destroying a low mileage porsche turbo. If you own a low mileage 964 or 993 turbo, how many miles are you ever going to feel good about putting on those vehicles?
I’ve got to be honest. I found your review disorganised, contradicting and lacking any real output. You should have totally dismissed a 1000bhp modified 996 and talked about the 997 independently. I couldn’t work out if it was slow, fast, old, new, sends you to sleep or not. A shame as 997 turbos are an absolute epic drive and you didn’t relay that.
+1
I found this while 997 shopping last year, and came away wondering why he wouldn't at least have done the 997 review first... The obvious big impression left in his mind by the 1000 hp, casts a shadow over the 997's review as something of an "also ran".
Perfect daily driver right there
Your awesome man!!!!
I have no idea why you dont have more views you are one of the best on here!!!!!!!!
MrMISTIKAL LMAO 😂 😂😂😂😂. I was just thinking this review sucks.
Most scattered, contradictory review ever. Guys more excited in his 300hp mr2 than a 911t!?
I have a 2009 Turbo manual tuned to 520 bhp; would never characterize the car as lethargic
For 2018 what would be a good deal on a 997 and how many miles??like a 2007 or 2018 model??
Nice RWB Tee.
By the way, esmotor has a GREAT tune for the tiptronic, not gt3 rs pdk fast, but 997.2 pdk fast or even slightly faster.
997.2 pdk (in standard C2 form) is even more quiet. The shift also has some delay unless you are in sports plus and really on it. Daily normal drive the delay is just as bad as tip, although the gear change itself is much more crisp than tip. In terms of noise, 997.2 pdk is very quiet unless you rev it past 4K and have a sports exhaust. 997.1 tt is louder, but quality of noise is not as good, so aftermarket exhaust is a must.
Sounds crazy but the way he’s describing this car it sounds like a mini Bugatti Veyron. Good power yet very smooth on the street
damn, the turbo's really are quiet. Has that nice turbo whizzing / whoshing noise (kind of too sharp for the ear). But all of that flat 6 is gone ! Not sure how i feel about that, the power must be nice though.
Did anybody else see the paddle shifters in the 997 and flipped tf out aha! I love when he drives manual cars!
the PDK is too good to not get
what drugs are you on lol you just trollin comment sections?
No
Chasing Adventures haven't driven one so guess I can't comment yet. Just pass em all the time hate driving towards them at night headlights too bright an aimed wrong
@Chasing Adventures trust me it's actually very natural. The new clutches are lighter too, but it's more interesting watching a video with someone shifting vs just turning the wheel. Still great video though
Try racing your mr2 in till you see what lethargic lol
Any idea how they got paddle shifters on a Tiptronic?
Theres a right up on rennlist with wiring schematics. Uses mb shifters found on ebay for 130 and the wiring is minimal
Also you can do a 997.2 steering wheel with paddles
Maybe the person buying a Boxster wanted something that handles better than an old MR2 that rocks McPherson struts ;)
Meanwhile Boxters are depreciating and MR2s are appreciating ;)
there's one reason and one reason alone that the car feels slow and sluggish... its the tiptronic.
Still 100k from where I am xD
German sledgehammer
997.1 turbo with auto is just wrong and he had shift points on steering wheel but he got 997.2 steering wheel that comes with those shift padels
Music plssss
3:21 answer: torque curve. max horsepower doesn't tell the full story.
These got so much more expensive in the last few years
Joe Ludicrous what are you on about? One has just sold on bring a trailer for 46k. That’s cheap as chips.
Joe Ludicrous and it was a six speed may I add.
With fresh range 6 over revs. It was very rough.
they have gotten cheaper, 6 speeds have probably stayed around the same pricec though.
40k in UK
Did he just say the 997 turbo is lighter than the 996 turbo? Wrong.
HI for some reason I have reported you I didn't mean to I was looking how to contact you and pressed the wrong link.
I am really sorry I did not mean for this to happen.
kind regards

Couldn't stand hearing the waffle and arrogance of this guy. Show us the car. We don't want to hear your waffle
0:44 ....SHE and her husband** Does her and her husband build 911's? Or does she and her husband build 911's? Come on, this is 6th grade stuff!! Great video though, love the channel :)
English lesson 👍
I'm glad you enjoy the channel! We love what we do. You should try shooting a video and talking to a camera while driving for 10 hours straight without any grammar mistakes, I dare you ;)
Hey I agree I was being facetious that out of all that info a guy would call you out on English lol that was my point sorry dint want you thinking I agreed with that should have been more clear , I love the channel and all the kool cars , lived the c6 zo6 you did the yellow one was bad ass
See, now I'm embarrassed - did not expect a response!! I was totally being sarcastic, with a hint of serious thrown in. It's a common mistake, an easy one to make too. Honestly, love the content and the channel, long time subscriber here :) And you're right, I would not dare. lol.
