This was EXTREMELY helpful!!! Thank you for this video! I was searching online for a way to glaze without buying glaze. I figured there had to be a way. I am going to be glazing my wall paint and I lost my business to the pandemic so I don't have the money available to spend on anything like this. So, I'm going to mix brown craft paint with Mod Podge! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Well, I did it and it looks like leather! My son and his fiance are getting married in Dec. and building their cottage on our land. They liked it so much that they plan on doing the same to their walls. I LOVE thriftiness! Thank you again!

I have used PVA builders glue for the very same effect and the builders PVA GLUE is dirt cheap for large project's. It's been a nice experience to witness how other mediums have the same effect. Thank you for showing such a handy Tip. BIG THUMBS UP 👍😷👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

This came at a perfect time for me. The other day at Michaels they had all of their denim things on sale for 80 percent off so I got some glazing medium for the denim look for 99 cents. It doesn't have any instructions just links it to other products in that line. I was going to play around with it but at least now I know what it basically does. Thanks.

Huge thumbs up for this tip! I looked and looked for DIY clear mixing glazes and yours was the first I found after many attempts. The search engines kept steering me to purchase glazing mediums or blogs that are sponsored by such products. Imagine that. 😉 I’m looking forward to browsing through your videos!

I realize this is a old video, however I was wondering what homemade glaze you would use on large walls ?something that would be safe to paint over with laytext paint in the future when you need to repaint your walls.

One question though.. do you have any idea if I mix some white glue with some acrylic paint and thin the mixture down, will it flow through an air brush, or will the glue cause problems for the air brush and get stuck inside? Thanks again :)

Hi!! Ok so let me get this right--you want a fixative to put over water soluable items to continue with another layer--I use mod podge ultra in mat-its a spray--you can use white glue all from Elmers- just add to a spray bottle with water and spray and ;let dry- then continue working on next layer--i hope this helps

HelloCaptainBlingBling yes if you brush it on. I make a mixture in a small spray bottle u can get at dollar store I use 3/4 mod podge and the rest water. Shake well and then spray and let dry and I will do it twice if I feel it needs it if I used a lot of crayons or paint underneath. I have a video on this somewhere I will have to try and remember to look tomorrow. Like I always suggest. Try this on a small sample to get the idea and how it will work for you.

Have you used this on a painting? Has anyone here tried this on a painting or art piece. I ruined the one I tried. This is glue and therefor it's sticky. This is not a DIY glazing medium that I would recommend unless you want to ruin a piece. I used the elmer's washable glue. It's one thing to do a demo on a piece of paper and another thing to use it on an actual painting because when I tried it, it was not a glaze. The first coat dried within seconds and than when you put another coat it made a horrible mess and ruined my art piece plus took some paint off too!
