Thank you 🙏 since I had so many weeds that had gone to seed, I asked the neighbours for their lovely clippings. They were more than happy for me to take them. First I asked if they’d used and pesticides/herbicides. I now have lovely compost ready to use. This is a great technique and thank you for sharing your knowledge
You are now my go to channel now for composing. I appreciate your thoroughness and knowledge so much, and between these two videos, you covered everything I’ve ever wondered, honestly! About weeds, food scraps vs grass, about cardboard and paper, heat vs size and speed - just everything! Thank you SO much!!!
I really appreciate the way you read comments and try to answer questions but what was really impressive was that you took hint comments, passed those on and gave credit to your subscribers - thank you very much
Fantastic tutorial thanks. Just a thought. Instead of struggling to chop or mow the dry cardboard just wet it down first and tear it up much more easily to mix in. It'll break down much quicker too.
Another quick tip for anyone worried about the cardboard damaging or blunting the lawnmower blades, wet the cardboard first. It breaks down easier and mixes a bit better with the rest of the grass and leaves. Don’t just wet the outer surface though, make sure it’s wet through and on the soggy side.
Thanks for another great video. Great gardening advice. Working with nature and creation. Working with items that most people can use without having to spend vast sums of money.. love your videos.
Good job. I've adjusted a few things, however used your method as a starting point. Thank you for the inspiration. Regards from the Blue Mountains Australia 🇦🇺
SubhanAllah You are right Co incidentally I had put my weeds and grass pulled out from slabs plus dry matter ( some dry leaves+, cardbox pieces) in a bag and left it . It was crumbled into a nice compost.
@@MyFamilyGarden Mashallah la Quwata illah billah, informative and easy to follow formula. I have used out of date (dates ,sultanas , and figs) to fasten the composting . Hello my good friend. I am an avid follower. I am 74 and have been allotment gardening since you were in nappies. However I have my eyes opened by you so much I am now going to ask you what’s is purely basic questions because my veg growing is stuck in the dark ages. I have(after a 3 year break) taken on a small plot again from to start immediately. I have already marked out where to put the wood clippings, of which there is a huge pile available because I am keen to try your Potato growing method. We both like chips and roast potatoes and usually buy Maris Piper, but can you advise the best seed spuds to buy for this main purpose. I am looking at a First Early crop. Can you also advise what veg to plant now, before the onset of winter. I have planted onion sets at home but wonder if they will grow in your woodchip method. I live in middle England, Milton Keynes. Looking forward to your reply. Thanks.
Thank you Graham for the support and encouraement. I prefer red skinned potatoes for grwoing in the 'ground' as a first early duke of york did quite well for me this year and desiree are one that i really like as a main crop. You can still sow lettuce, onions from seed, broad beans, pak choi, mustard leaves as food crops but i'd also plant lots of cover crops/green manures to protect and to build the soil - ua-cam.com/video/8vQw5Ll5L3w/v-deo.html Onions sets will work but it's best not to have the woodchips as deep, better to have the roots sit in the soil and the woodchip as mulch - here's an old video i did on the method of planting the onions - ua-cam.com/video/7DujTg5hs0Q/v-deo.html
hey sir, i really like your video. can i use your idea as my college assignment for making compost? (ofc ill put credit on it) in Indonesia the weather is not hot as it used to be and your compost method doesnt need heat as much as common compost, so that's why your composting method is so helpful for me. i hope you allow me to re-creater your method. thank you sir🙏🏻
If you're short on Greens for nitrogen, you can add some ammonia to the water to charge it, or urine. I don't mean to pee on the pile either, as some suggest. I mean, use a watering can for a urinal and pour it on in large quantities. I produce 2-3 gallons a day, so this works well for me. I also use it on the garden beds in addition to regular fertilizer.

It's a really good way of boosting bacteria in the garden
Thanks!

Thank you, will give it a go when I can. I always tell my mum not to throw away the worms in her garden but she never listens.
Lol, Worms are so beneficial to the soil and their poo is full of nutrients

@@MyFamilyGarden I forgot to ask, do you use the molasses/sweet water just once when you start or do you use it each time you water? Kind regards, Poo

Wow-some one else from Milton Keynes 👍 been in Liverpool for 20 years now though
Great video. When you water it every turn, is it always with the sweet content, or is that just for the first water? Thanks
It depends on how it's breaking down, if it looks like it needs a push use more sugar water
Thank you! These answers clarify a process!
Glad it was helpful!
Nice new Greenhouse!
Thanks
can the container be a compost tumbler? and with the tumbler do you still rotate it every other day or will that rotation schedule change?
thanks good video.
Thanks Dave 👍😀
Do you use the molasses with every watering?? or just the first watering when you start the compost pile?
Monty how long do you use the Molasses for is it just the first water are all the waters great upload as always and great information
Thanks mate, depends how it's breaking down, if it's breaking down well you can stop using it, if it needs a boost then use it again

Not to make compost but it's good to know what temperatures the piles are reaching
