TBH the tank has its ups and downs, meaning it is balanced. The biggest up is without a doubt the turret. Sit hulldown and at a slight angle and you gonna bounce every shot all day long. The gun is usable (although sometimes a bit trollish) and it has accepatble mobility. The downs are the hull wich is made out of hopes and dreams and the roof. The roof is made of paper and can be overmatched by soviet 122s (and up) from just a little bit over the mantlet, same as the cupola, so your biggest fear is going to be focused by artillery. However it is incredibly strong on certain maps and positions. I had a game on Berlin where I bounced a T10 Chief and a Kran spamming Prem. ammo all game long, going out with almost 10k bounced and only 200 hp taken away due to 1 arty hit. Same on Lakeville, nothern team. Have a Chief and a compedtent TD in the back and you can hold the entire flank with 2 or 3 people. However you have to hide the cupola and try to find a position to angle your turret a little bit upwards in order to not get penetrated into the roof. The hull is another thing. It is too thin to be able to sidescrape at all, and T 7s can get through the UFP, so whenever you are not hulldown your enemy just has to shoot anywhere that is not the turret to pen you. Also, at least IMO, the ammorack seems pretty weak, sitting just left and right of the driver, a lot of shots that go into the front section of the tank usually damage the ammorack as well (as it should, since its a cold war MBT, wich means that alsmost everywhere besides the engine is some kind of ammo storage IRL). All in all the tank is pretty well balanced, but still behind on some other T9s like the AE Phase 1 (I'm not gonna compare it to the Concept 1b since that one is OP) and the best of the T9 premiums so far. However I have one last point of critique I have is that the tank for some reason doesn't have a gunnersight. Look it up on the 3d model. There is no sight, wich would explain why the gun sometimes feels very random (no shit if your gunner has nothing to aim the gun with)
To be fair you get 100 Gold each time you open a engenier box So 50 boxes = 5000 good If you exclusively go for the tanks and only use rerolls from Gold recieved from the bokses you Will get +20 rerolls “for free” So by buying 50 bokses you actually get 70 Rolls I was lucky and Got a tank with my 19 Roll.. so with 51 Rolls to go I was certain that I would get another tank too I rerolled premium days as I have enough Of Those
Here is another factor. If you already had all the premiums you were guaranteed to get 1 of those in 50 tries. I got the KV4 and Chieftan in 50 boxes. So not bad. And the other one came in the next 50. Can't remember the 3rd one.
I'm afraid I don't do the box/re-roll/gamble purchases --- I've never had any sort of luck with that type thing, so I will just wait and see if it is sold normally. If not, them's the breaks. Great vid as always Claus, always laugh when you and Yuri do math.
Claus, I bought 20 + 50 Starters, did some rerolls, but not that much. And won the Emil 1951, KV-4 KTTS, Chieftain/T95 and FV4201 Chieftain Proto. So I am not complaining 😉
Yes, I got one. The turret is good. The hull is weak. Gun is good. My win rate was great in the first day or two, then crap -- that may just be my lack of skill. If you over peak, you are toast. Good things are that it makes credits and bonds. The Object 257 is a better tank, but it loses credits.
I got about 150 boxes. Got the Two Chieftains, the AMX, Shovel, and the KTTS. Money wise it was a bargain. Getting the Proto alone as a straight up purchase is likely about 50 Canadian.
Looks like a good tank in the right hands. Best bit of video was the Russian maths for the first tank, how on earth do they get the basics so wrong? Maybe they use the Bank Of Russia Rubel multiplier. Keep up the video's Claus, very entertaining my little bit of relaxation each day.

the tank looks nice it reminds me of Caernarvon action X tier VIII premium but is of course a bit better because this is tier IX tank. I rerlolled frst 3 keys twice for 250 gold then decided on last key I am not going to spend gold rerolling and got AMX30 on last key with first click so that was lucky to get some premium tank at least just from playing all 20 levels in Waffentrager.
I’m a sucker for gambling and I wasn’t even really wanting the chieftain proto. I got it on 30 something gate though… after the first few games I thought it needed a buff to its gun. It’s dispersion was very hard to manage. At first I played it with vent, stabilizer, and rotation while I was grinding through the field mods. Now my honest opinion is that it’s balanced. It is very strong if you can find a place to play gull down. Don’t get isolated in it though because it’s DPM and hull armor will let you down quickly. I decided to run my bond stabilization on it w/ a turbo lately. Once you have the equipment and field mods to fix the dispersion it’s pretty strong.
got it for 50 boxes. it is an average tank. It's one of those tanks which are very fragile on critical dmg. it easily goes on fire, turret get stuck.. modified configuration is a must. all an all I'm happy with it since it give ou opportunity to play tier 9 and not lose credits.
I have one.. spent ten dollars, go two tanks, opened two boxes, got 100 gold each box...and rerolled on the third...repeated twice so ten dollars and 200 gold... for two tanks...
Tank collector here...boxes were worth for me...got the 3 tanks I didn't have and 2 more in gold which made me a massive gold profit - For people with only one or two of the listed tanks tho I would say not worth it if they want the Chieftain P

Thank you WG for making this an attractive deal, probable the best in the 5 years I've played (~25,000) battles. Very good tank and I have every T10 sands the $hit Barn, which I sold in disgust, and the Swedish TD.
i think its still worth it. nice crew trainer for the tier 10 chieftain i got. only other british heavy i got premium is a tog 2 with more crew members to divide the crew xp across. and plus its a 9 that earns bonds :)
I'm pretty sure all crew members get the same amount of experience regardless of how many members there are. For example if you get 1000 crew exp in a battle, each member gets 1000 exp.
i didn't buy any boxes lol, i literally got the chieftain with the last box of the event. so i am actually stoked that i didn't buy anything and played for what i won, fun tank rather okayish creds made, but side Armour is a pain and lower plate not always the easiest to hide
Ok I did the Test. I got 7 Tier 8 Tanks and the the Tier 9 Chieftain Proto. Each Tank costs 11,25 € at least. WG makes often less better offers and call that "Black Market" 🤪 May my personal RNG Jesus blessed me but I can not complain. Cheers

I don't see how the anonymizer is such a big deal. It takes you a few extra seconds after the battle to see the actual nickname. And why do you think nothing happens when the support staff say that action will be taken but can't reveal the specifics?

Gunners sight (periscope) sits to the front of the commaders cupola. The gunner IRL sits with his back alomost against the commanders shins

I finished the WT event and got the Chieftain Proto through a free Engineers Gate so I was very lucky. Haven't played it yet

I bought $20 worth of engineers keys, rerolled a demount kit and got prototype, and got a m4y in another.
I like the ae phase 1 more. The 340 heat just works better for me vs the tier 10 tanks. Other than that the chieftain proto plays exactly the same.
The chieftain has a better turret against good players. Phase can be penetrated straight into the mantlet with premium rounds.
