- DEWALT 20v XR vs MILWAUKEE 18v FUEL impact driver showdown! We will do a comparison between the tools and race them against each other to see which one belongs in the homeowner, handyman, or tradesman's tool-bag! We screw in an 8 inch deck screw for a speed test and an 6" x 1/2" lag bolt for a power/endurance test!

You know you are getting old, when you start looking up tool comparisons 😂 great video 👍🏼
😂 just embrace it! Thanks, I appreciate it!
Same 😅🥹
We have both at work; we had a Milwaukee drill kick the bucket, a Milwaukee pump kill over and a Milwaukee battery pack give up the ghost...no problems with the Dewalt fam yet.
I like both, but the price and batteries I don't like Milwaukee. DeWalts are workhorses. Thanks for your experience
18 year electrician here and I can happily say only yellow for this fellow. Dewalt for life !
Smart man! 😀
I will admit Milwaukie has great tools however their batteries are junk !
Ve dewalt daha ucuz
Same 🎉
I don’t care about driving a screw a second faster, how long the battery last is my thing.
Sounds like I need to do a video on that!
Not only that, but how fast they charge is just as important sometimes
I’d be more focused on how long they last, as in years before they fail
i agree - how good the battery is so important
Personally, with both Milwaukee's XC batteries and Dewalt's XR batteries, I've found charging to be almost an afterthought even in a professional setting where I'm slamming screws for 8 hours straight. I would at most need two to stay busy, because unless I was just holding the trigger full-time, I'll never burn through them faster than they charge. This even goes for my Milwaukee chainsaw; I worried I'd need more batteries to keep it running, but keeping one on the charger is pretty sufficient. Sometimes I have to take a 5 minute break to let the charger catch up... Dang. Lol
I like how you compared the old Milwaukee 2753 (not the new 2853 or newest 2953) vs the current but old Dewalt 887 because that's more fair because that tech came from the same time period. They still rock! I'm still rocking my 2753 and going strong.
Great job and entertaining!
You know your tools/model numbers well! 👍🏼 thanks, I don’t think every review needs to be the cutting edge technology, contrary to what the internet trolls say lol
I’m a HVAC installer, everyone I work with uses Milwaukee, I originally purchased Dewalt because people would get their tools mixed up and batteries missing all the time. Either way they both are great. Im literally the only one who uses dewalt and my stuff has seemed to last longer than several others who I work with. I also take care of my tools though.
Interesting, thanks for sharing. Both are great, it just depends who you invest in at first it seems
Same here my old lead used DeWalt so I started there, company standard is Milwaukee.
Brother been in the game since when Milwaukee used the old battery’s and I had to switch the triangle batters am old and I got the the impact the old one old with the new battery just the first version that ever used that battery type
“Oh I was on 2!”… man that killed me😂
an honest blooper! 😆
I like the friendly competition between yall. It’s very midwestern.
Thanks, we have a blast ribbing each other! 😃
I can honestly say it's like that on a job site too. I'm a DeWalt guy, and have worked with Milwaukee and Ryobi and Craftsman guys side by side. It's always just busting each other's balls over price vs efficiency, and ultimately who finishes the job quickest. Hard to call it "work" when you're having fun playing with big boy toys lmao. I'll die a DeWalt guy, and will always buy Black and Decker products for the house.
Nothing beats good friendly banter amongst friends, family, and co-workers!
Drill- Packedge in typical box, came with a tool bag (added bonus), two batteries, one charger, drill, and driver. Two words "plenty of Torque" ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv well I guess that's three. Nice upgrade from current setup. Has belt clips, I don't think I will be using those. Driver and drill were bigger than what I expected but it is an upgrade from the current setup. For the money I would say that this is a great setup for Professionals and DIY/Weekend warriors.
I believe that is the 887
Love that competition! 😁
😀
The red one hit a knot on the last run.
Very possible.
I have ketchup and mustard in my toolbox. They both make awesome tools. My drill, driver and saws are DeWalt 20v and my impact wrench and ratchets are Milwaukee M12
Yup I agree. That's Not a bad idea... I love dewalt 20v but Milwaukee way ahead on 12v tools.
Tried an older dewalt drill today at work comparing it to a year old Milwaukee one. I think im moving over to the big yellow. Fair dinkum blew me away
Alright, come to the good side of power tools! Lol i'm curious what to drills you use that made you change your mind?
You nailed it guys, best video ever
Shoot, thanks for your kind words!! 🙂
Actually I think they screwed it?
They are both excellent brands, as long as you have one you are serious.
I use Dewalt tools because I think they look nicer and more modern and I like the classic constructions colors, but all my drillbits are milwaukee. Milwaukee I think is a little more powerful but Dewalt is sleeker l and more modern and flexible
Honestly for me having the classic construction colors is a big reason..
I Totally agree, my dad had dewalt so I thought it was the best growing up! Kinda like ford and Chevy pickups ...both great, but what does one prefer or what does their dad like?
I bought DeWalt. NICE. I was team black and decker and I'm kind of a brand loyalist, tend to go with the Stanley family.
Nice, As you buy more and more DeWalt tools, I think you'll be very pleased
@@HandymanHertz Lowe's had a good sale going on, and a steal on a kit, so replaced my "MATRIX" with deWalts.
The milwaukee power setting is a pain in the ass if u have thick gloves on tho.
Good point 👍🏼
That’s a good point
My tool lost. You got a new subscriber
Hey thanks!
Dewalt 20v drill kicks ass!
Yeah!! 💪
Newcomer here and I just have some really cheap tools. And are wondering is best for value, since Milwaukee and DeWalt are both expensive here in Norway.
In my opinion, best value is not a brand. It all depends how much you use them. If you use them a little bit, the best value is not the best and most expensive tool. But, my opinion, the rigid and kobalt brand would be a solid choice. I would call them midtier with good warranties. If you don't use a much you can get away with Ryobi or craftsman. You get what you pay for, so it all depends on how much you use them. What brands do you have over there for options? To be honest, I would wait for a really good sale and buy a good brand, but that takes work and diligence. Also, buy them in multi tool kits (preferable on sale) instead of bare tools to get the best value.
What’s the “apple” for tools 🛠️? I’m trying to get the best.
You’ll get a lot of opinions here…but I’ve always been a dewalt guy. Seems like they have the best quality:price ration for people who use tools frequently. Milwaukees good? And a lot of ppl like makita. If you don’t use tools much , ryobi or a lower tier rigid would be more than enough for ya.
Dewalt tools are more powerful . . . Every tool . . .
dewalt for Life !
Yes milwaukee led is so annoying but still like that tool.
👍🏼
Should have used an 850, better comparison
I agree, I wish we had one to run it against!
Dewalt!
👍🏼
Bro then why is Milwaukee so expensive? I have their cordless 10 inch miter saw and it's imo the best tool I ever bought. However, my Dewalt impact and drill set, I could never abandon those.
Milwaukee is nice, but it does seem to be overpriced.
I don’t even have to say which tool I like more
Dewalt!! 💪🏼
I got both .. what ever is got a charge
Fair enough!
If you are driving screws so much that the 1/2 second makes a difference you should probably get the tool for that job. Like a Sheetrock drill.
I agree, but guys love racing things. In our nature.
I always go dewalt because of price, Milwaukee was always contractor rated
Dewalt does seem to be a lot cheaper
drill straight maybe??
It is a 20v vs an 18v so im not surprised
The dewalt has a nominal voltage of 18v, the same as Milwaukee. It’s more of a marketing tactic Dewalt does.
Everytime i see DeWalt vs Milwaukee all they put is impact driver tests 😂 and that's all the Milwaukee boys won't stop talking about
Haha well, stay tuned, I’ll be having some drill and maybe a chainsaw (d vs m) coming out soon!
Oh and blower, too! Going to shoot some pickle balls out of the ends of them 👍🏼
Im the only tool that dominates my home hahaha! But i love and own both brands.
😂 Yeah, I agree, both are great!
Black and yellow all day
You betcha! 👍🏼
Keep killing Dewalt tools. And I do my best work drilling in the dark anyways. Time for a change. 😂
May help if it was driven in at 90 degrees (as in straight). Just sayin 😉
yeah, true. Although, i've wondered how much, if any, it actually matters. ill leave that up to a more scientific testing channel
Maybe use the ones that were made at the same time
They were made at the same time. They were the flagship impacts from both brands at the same time.
Really I expected the DeWalt to be better at light work and Milwaukee to be better at heavier work
Why is that?
@@HandymanHertz Thoughts on the Mikwaukee brushed 2407-20 power drill?
What I do is I research which specific tool is best from either brand and go with that one. Milwaukee and Dewalt both make good tools, and they also both make bad tools. Thats why you want to be dilligent. People talk about it like a complex ecosystem. Bro all it is is a charger and a few batteries.
I agree. Although, when you get into the trades or when time is money, you dont want different brands and batteries and chargers. So, one wants to get their power tool platform right from the beginning.
👍🏼
Damn, Milwaukee is the best.
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both me wrong :)
All those Milwaukee video has one thing common the screw is always making a strange angle
Maybe Milwaukee owners have their heads screwed on a little crooked? Haha
Dewalt!!
Yeah!
Y'all so proud but had Milwaukee at a 30° angle dumb
Why would that matter?
Gravity baby, letting the tool do the work for you.
@@HandymanHertz It matters because having the screw go at a 30 degree angle means it has to go through more material.
@guardian8319 😂 please explain to me how a screw can screw in MORE than the length of itself when at an angle....cmon man 📐
How do you rate Milwaukee 3697-22CXC
I’m not familiar with Milwaukee sorry.
Dewalt all The way
They are usa company and can buy on the Mac tools truck
Because it’s the same company
Milwaukee is TTI which is a Chinese company
I totally agree! I did not know Black & Decker also owned Mac, that’s really cool! 🇺🇸
@@HandymanHertz they are all
Under Stanley
Proto too plus many more
@@benmartin6476 i love American made stuff 👍🏼
dewalt all the way
You betcha!! 💪🏼
Fiyat neden yok hiç bi yerde ??
Price?
Ryobi
👍🏼
The challenge must be re-curreated because it is unfair.
...how?
@@HandymanHertz In the last test, the screw was not level.
Guy holding the milwaukee tool needs to learn how to hold it!!
I don't think that really has much of an Impact from a physics standpoint, do you? (Pun intended)
Yeah but the button is going to wear out before that switch though. Lol
Yeah you’re probably right! Only think I don’t like about the switch is dirt and drywall dust can get packed in the over time.
Boton breaks stitch doesn't
??
Flex is coming to eat both your cakes brah lmfao I am a Milwaukee guy though Packout all the way I do have 1 Flex tool
Oh yeah? Havn’t quite bought into the hype yet. What do you like about your flex?
@@HandymanHertz i like the batteries and power output. But they are missing too many tools in their line up for me to even consider switching to Flex. My next drill will be a Flex but my milwaukee doesn't want to die so that wont be for a long while it seems lol
I know you're making the video for views, etc. But it's surprising how many men become cheerleaders in dresses when arguing which is better. That's how I can tell things about people. The ones that will fight tooth and nail to say one brand is better. Basically, what people are arguing about ...is "I spent my money better than you spent yours!". Do you folks also argue about Under Armour vs Nike or AT&T vs Verizon? 😂😂😂. If Milwaukee or DeWalt made a cheerleader dress, some of you would wear one.
Haha yeah it's funny but it's a guy thing. My daddy can beat up your daddy, Chevy vs ford, John Deere vs case, iPhone vs Samsung, etc.
Grey shirt guy couldn't keep his driver squared up with screw or bolt.
You don't honestly think that really matters much from a physics standpoint, do ya?
the big guy puch harder
I think it has to do more with rotational force than downward force, right?
How you gunna have one guy drill at a 45 degree angle and one guy drill straight
Not sure that matters much from a physics stand point. It still goes in the same distance.
You guys are running a hydraulic 1/4” driver(surge) against a true impact? 😂
Nope, not the surge.
@@HandymanHertzit’s the old generation two. Probably just as bad and as of 9 months ago, not their flag ship.
Maybe if he woulda held the Milwaukee straight
Maybe, but I don't see from a physics standpoint where that really matters?
Lol 😂😂😂 dewalt is the best
Agreed! 👍🏼
Meanwhile the drills from both of those lines are shaking their heads because neither struggles at all to drive that hardware. And no they don't break your wrist under high torque as long as you're not holding it in a way that your hand will be stuck to it if it catches in the orientation you're running it in. I've been working with drills for a long time, and I've never broken a wrist... While drilling anyway. Looked like a dumbass a few times, but one with two working wrists.
Just sayin'. If you don't have to use an impact, they're sufficient for lots of jobs, but not the best for any of them.
A drill wouldn’t sink down one of these lag screw all of the way. Aren’t you aware that impacts have wayyyy more torque than drills? You should look up the specs or do a real life torque comparison. Let me know your results.
@@HandymanHertz I'd say I've done one or two. I work a construction job where we each buy and supply our own tools, I've seen the specs and used multiple generations of pretty much every tool line out there. Professional-grade drills (pretty much anything in the 18-24v range) dominate at lag driving. Zip them down tight in about 5-6 seconds.
I can explain the discrepancy between the numbers and the reality, though:
An impact may measure over 1500 in-lbs of "peak torque," and its drill counterpart may measure in the 1200 range. But an impact is only generating that torque instaneously when the hammer inside impacts the drive shaft, and then it's spending most of its time generating little to no torque while it waits for the hammer to smack again and give it another 1/60 of a turn. While it's doing that, the wood fibers which flexed around the lag are springing back, pulling the cutting threads away from the fibers they just cut when, and pinching the shank and threads in place, meaning a lot of the next strike is going to be required to break the lag free again, and what little inertia is left will make inconsequential progress on any given strike.
A drill is generating well-over half the instaneous torque, but steadily. So if it goes forward 1/60 of a turn, it's immediately starting the next 1/60, and the wood fibers we've cut are retaining their orientation down-cut on the threads, letting it pass much more smoothly, because the force hasn't let up yet. The only time it'll spring back say, 1/120th of a turn, is when it's sunk or you stop halfway through driving it to adjust your grip. Granted, this is also why they break people's wrists, but if you use them right, they won't do that either. I've driven thousands of lags and never had an injury from it except maybe slipping off and punching my workpiece, getting a little skinned knuckle or something, which I also do with impacts, lol
@@Disktoaster sounds like I need to do a race 😊 the proofs in the pudding!
I’ve watched several vid same subject and the Milwaukee guy always leans the screws or lags over every time
I don’t see why that matters one iota 🤷🏼♂️
@@HandymanHertz wow hit a nerve I see, so leaning doesn’t allow the same inline force to be applied to the screw and you can hear the tip slipping because of the misalignment. Stay safe and have a great day.
@@danthebeeman no nerve struck, you just have read that in a different tone than I meant. I just disagree from a physics standpoint is all. 👍🏼
আপনারা ইচ্ছে করে millwakee কে হারিয়েছন।এটা সঠিক হয়নি। Im Bangladeshi.

The only thing Milwaukee screws well is the consumer at their prices!
haha true, true. Some of their stuff is so ridiculous. Good brand, but bad value IMO
Dewalt far better
I sure do love my dewalt tools 👍🏼
Idk how many times there gonna vhslkenge each other..
It’s like ford vs. Chevy: There will be no end. 😃
The guy holding Milwaukee has no aim the screw keeps goin side ways
Yeah, but Once a lag bolts threads grab, its hard to direct it.
I’m a Dewalt guy. Longer battery life is more important. Plus wasn’t this same exact video done 2 years ago on TylerTube?. I’ll give you a click but I’m not gonna watch.
Thanks, I'm not sure, I've never heard of Tylertube.
@@HandymanHertz lol
The average lifespan of a battery operated tool is 2 years. The homeowner would never get his moneys worth out of such a tool. Battery operated tools are for daily use on a job, not occasional use on home projects.
This has got to be one of the most laughable and untrue comments I've seen on my videos.
실례합니다 아저씨, 이 사자 가죽 벽지 뒤에 있는 거죠?
It’s elk
You might have driven it in quicker if it was going in straight
Yeah, Maybe. Although I'm not really sure how from a physics perspective.
Man, I'm so sick and tired of people having screaming matches about what color of drill is better. Like they're all the same. They're just different colors. They have minor differences. They're literally just like vehicles. They all function the same. They're all overpriced and they just look different. It doesn't matter what big name brand tool you use. They're all pretty damn similar.
Sounds like you don’t have any experience with tools. Walmart Hart brand is not equal to Festool. Just as Jaguar reliability is not the same as a Toyota Camry. Don’t believe me? Go look at resale value, reliability ratings, and reputation. So, they are all not the same.
Man I'm so sick and tired of dramatic jerkoffs in the UA-cam comment section.. Who was screaming in this or any videos? And why the fuck would you be watching these videos?
ordinary Milwaukee batteries are simply lousy, they do not allow you to give full continuous power...
and only at peak momentarily
Interesting, is this from testing or from experience?
