Thank you buddy. If I could have a wish granted, it would be that we were friends and neighbors, so we could hang out and share the music listening experience but, 2nd to that, is what we are doing with you now. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you ... for keeping great music alive !!!
I absolutely love this one. The amount of instruments coming together to make a great tune together, then separate, then all back together again. This truly is a song that needs no words, even though they threw a few in there to put the...as they say 'icing on the cake' :) GREAT song. Daryl is always fun too. Really wanna see him in concert this year.
The guitarist is Tom Wolk, who was a long time member of Hall & Oates' backing band, playing bass for them. He sadly passed away 2010 due to heart attack.
AWB is so tight live and I’ve seen them always killing it at festivals. Finally saw a whole show at Jazz Cafe in London and it was insane at a small venue. They look like they’re having so much fun with Daryl and the boys.
Wow-Jazz Cafe in London sounds like a place to check out-thanks! And I saw you commented on Chromeo at Daryl’s, I’ll have to check that out-dig Chromeo ✌️🎶
I will never forget the time I was shopping at the thrift store and this song was playing. A lady with a shopping cart was absolutely BOPPING her way down the aisles, jamming out, whistling along, grinning.... The joy was contagious!
Seeing the joy on everyone's faces, feeling the bluesy funk and hearing some fabulous young artists who probably weren't alive when the original came out. I love it!
i have loved all of this Live from Daryl's house wish i could buy all of them all love it! seems like they all are having a great time enjoying each others talents. so grovie
Daryls' smile: "Talkin bout just lovin' what you do". That description fits someone else we all love to see.....🤔 Hope everyone's enjoying their weekend, & thanks for inviting us back to Daryls' place, J ✌
One of my all time favorite songs. It was a great song to dance to in the 1970's. We did the Bump to this song, it had the perfect timing & rythm. Thanks Jamel, you Rock 👍👩🦳
There's a similar kind of set-up in a BBC series called Transatlantic Sessions, from the 90's. Primarily folk/roots music, comprising of the cream of performers from both sides of the Atlantic, jamming on a Scottish island!! There are a ton of videos on UA-cam, featuring the best of the best, & it's thought by many, to be the finest music show ever televised, so..........enjoy!! 😁
Daryl's face tells the entire story of this one. His absolute joy. A kid in a candy store look. He obviously has wanted to do this for years and loves these guys and their style.
Darryl has had some great guests and great sounds in his studio...one of my favorites was when he had Smokey Robinson in...They performed each others songs... You gotta watch it....
Daryl's keyboard player, who is singing some of the harmony vocals, was a member of the Average White Band back in the 90s. Great singer, musician in his own right! I met him a few times back in the day.
One of the best funky groups from Scotland United Kingdom. look for them in an old Soul Train. To hear them speak. Such soulful singers. But when they speak 😎 look it up and you'll see why. In the interview 🥰

I know how much you like Daryl's House & you're going to see Hall & Oats live (I forget who you said they were playing with). Have a great time. I've always loved this song. How many contemporary songs do you know utilize 'brass' like this? Talk about innovation.
Daryl is content to play along and let these guys do their thing. I can't imagine what he paid for this studio but Daryl's love of music reigns supreme
Very invigorating jam ,indeed! I always love your reactions best..you have a great talent for it. I wonder how you would react to Mahavishnu Orchestra -Birds Of Fire!

This is what happens when talented people get together and have some fun. Big thanks to Daryl for letting us sit in.
Always a Jam at Daryl's House. The amount of talent is always in the stratosphere!!
When every musician is smiling at each other you know they're in the groove
It’s such a great thing when Scotland funks the world!
This song always takes me back to the municipal roller rink in the sleepy Chicago suburb I grew up in during the 1970s. Ahh, good times... good times.
Which one?! I used to skate at the pladium (?) in Glenview but that was 80's. Ha!
I love it when we visit Darryl’s House! ✌️❤️
That was awesome! I do love the joy on everyone's face for that jam.
The bassist is Alan Gorrie, founding member of the Average White Band!
trumpeter is former Red Sox great and steroid user Manny Ramirez. weird!
Luis, awesome thanks for letting us know.
I think the pandemic has made me appreciate live music so much more! My soul needed to feel this tonight! Thank you, Jamel_AKA_Jamal. 💜🎶💜
Loved it! More visits to Daryl's House, please!!
The sound coming outta that house is crazy!!!!!
Yessssss Beanie!!!! 😘
The Pocket of that drummer along with that great bass playing along with the entire band being locked in. that was good.
Reminds me of Jeff Porcaro.
The drummer is Shawn Pelton, whose discography is beyond impressive. He's played with everyone.

Thank you, I needed this today.
The world is a better place with you in it, Jamal. God bless and keep you and yours.
If this was the Average White Band, just imagine what the Exceptional White Band sounds like. :)
Good One
@Dave Rhoden. I used to know some Afro-Carribean musicians who were going to form a group and call themselves "The Above Average Black Band".
The Exceptional White Band was Steely Dan...
@@fhare666 ZING!

Wowzers. Talk about a groove. Sweet as cherry pie
Long live FUNK!
Absolutely!!!

That was 2021? WOW time flies when you miss someone

This is the first thing I’m listening to this morning and there is no better way to get rolling! 🌞🔥💥
I love seeing these older bands still playing and having all this fun 😊
Saw these guys live a few years ago. They’re still this great.
I love your reactions from DAryl's house and don't understand why it isn't more popular. REAL music is performed there by such talent.
One of my all time favorite songs. It was a great song to dance to in the 1970's. We did the Bump to this song, it had the perfect timing & rythm. Thanks Jamel, you Rock 👍👩🦳
So glad you got back to Daryl's house. I'm still gonna recommend the set he did with Grace Potter as one of his best
Also the dude who sang Maneater. Incredibly delicious, soulful voice
The 70s Were full of Fantastic music like this 70s JAM
So many great performances, but yes, the Grace Potter set was one of them.
Wheres the Average white band ??
I love how Daryl is grinning and smiling like he's in 7th heaven thru the whole thing!!! Oh what a JAM!!
Sooooo very glad we’re back in Darryl’s House 🏠 Never a Dull moment there.. One Giant Jam Session
I love to see someone hearing/seeing this tune for the first time. These guys have and always will be exceptional.
My favourite pieces in 1970's. Super White Band! These guys are virtuosos, brother. Thanks Jamal
I love this song! I grew up mostly listening from a radio station in Memphis. I'm now 59 yrs old. Good to hear this song.
I am flashing back to 1974 - I was a high school junior and I would stop EVERYTHING I was doing when this came on the radio! Thanks for the memories!
This video was full of awesomeness!
Please do Booker T, “Green Onions” at Daryls House. Soooo good!
Yes!!!
I think he did!!!!
I've been begging for some Booker T for quite some time.
@@deborahpaley21 I just searched and didn’t see it. If you have a link to him reacting to it can you please post it?
Yes!!!
This sounds so fresh. I bought the record when it came out '73-4ish.
It is one of the reasons I play saxophone that and Walt Parazaider from Chicago
🤩LOVE IT! And these guys..💃💃💃
AWB, Daryl and his great musicians 👍.
Thank you Jamel for this Awesomeness 😉✌
Gotta love a jazz band with such a good feel for each other. Like you said, chemistry
Such a great record. Funky, groovy, it's hard to sit still with this sound. I love it 💕💕🎸🎸🎶🎶
👍😎 That was stupid cool. There’s a version of that recoded live in a radio studio (95.5 KLOS) you can tell they had fun performing it. Thanks Jamel.
I love Daryl’s house!!!! You never know who’s gonna show up and jam!!!!!! It’s always a good time!!!! ✌️💕

I watched this yesterday, and had to listen again today. It just made me smile so much. Love Daryl and AWB!! Thanks for this one Jamel!!
I just wanna give the guy who wrote this a big hug.
EXCELLENT!! I loved Daryl's smile!!
This made me want to be there singing and dancing at Daryl's house!
Hearing every instrument distinctly, yes yes. That, Jamal, is one of the beauties of not riding the high-hat nor using distortion fuzz boxes.
Darryl has had some great guests and great sounds in his studio...one of my favorites was when he had Smokey Robinson in...They performed each others songs... You gotta watch it....
We've watched a few of Smokey at Darryl's House already, check Jamal's past videos.

Lord, remembering dancing The Bump to this song at the Airmans Club on Lackland AFB, nicely drunk after a long work week; absolutely the best!
Thank you Jamel , this was very refreshing for me....jazz or funky together...nice..
Nice treat man! I thought that was Johnny Winter in the cowboy hat.😎. Given me a Tower of Power and Chicago vibe with the brass.
I did too for a second
Great jam session! This is what great music is all about!!! Look at 'em having fun man!
Didn’t miss a beat! Fantastic!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️💫✨
The key board player is Eliot Lewis, also originally from AWB!
Thrilled to see LFDH again

Another forgotten treasure I have loved since day one! Good track.
SCHOOL BOY CRUSH-AWB-LIVE @HOUSE OF BLUES.
One of the most sampled grooves...with THE epic sleigh bells!
Daryl is content to play along and let these guys do their thing. I can't imagine what he paid for this studio but Daryl's love of music reigns supreme
Just fantastic! Your the best Jamel !
I love this song! Played saxophone in my school years because of this!
Love see the.old bands perform that can still kick it.
Another great addition to the Jive With Jamel workout video. Please keep them coming!
Daryl Hall has one of the best house bands around they all have so much talent and are always right on
My brother loved this song! I won’t tell you what he called this type of music (his inner 12-yr-old never grew up) but it is a JAM!
Always entertained when I have seen Live from Daryl’s House. This is no exception. Turned this one up and the house is full of funk!
Very invigorating jam ,indeed! I always love your reactions best..you have a great talent for it. I wonder how you would react to Mahavishnu Orchestra -Birds Of Fire!

Thanks! As always in the “House” awesome jam!
Silk Sonic just dropped the second hit--"Skate." Can't wait for you to react, Jamel. It's 70's like a time capsule!
Candy Dulfer does an AWESOME live version of this!!
The organ fills were a GREAT addition over the studio version. If they were in it, I don't recall. One tight jam here.
Thanks Jamal and Darryl! 8th grade sock hop years ago, neat!
Love the music from daryls house, keep up the good work daryl!
