I am watching your videos along with using the smart prep from ATI TEAs, for their practice quizzes and in their manual they consider "front end estimating" to only use the left most digit without considering any of the other digits. So if you were to front end estimate $375.25 the TEAs way it would be $300. Which seems absurd but just to let everyone know
I agree 100%.... 375.25 is 400 in my eyes,
Thank you again for your videos I took a ATI TEAS practice test on Tuesday and my math scored was 25.0 % took another practice test and my math went to 34.4% is not a big change but I am happy with a little improvement of 3 days of watching your videos

In the TEAS Study manual, in this particular section, it includes the metric system? What do we need to know about the metric system? One of the objectives of M.1.7 states "estimate metric measurements".

What should you do if it says to round to nearest cent but doesn't specify what place? if the answer is 952.35 would it just stay that way?
You would leave it like that. Rounding to the nearest "cent" is the same thing as saying the nearest "hundredth"... two decimal places.

In the teas book for finding the best estimate (346.8x5.231/49.6) the correct answer is 347x5/50 and says "rounding to the nearest one is a good estimate" when I did it your way I got the question wrong. How would I know which was the best option when taking the real teas???? When finding an estimate when do I use the first number versus the ones?
If they want you to estimate to a specific place value, such as the ones, then follow those steps.

I saw a problem in the ATI teas book that wanted me to round 74 to the nearest hundreds.
74 to the nearest hundreds would be 100 since 74 is closer to 100 than it is 0.... 374 would round to 400 instead of 300.... How's that?

When rounding should we add a zero after doing so
ex: 348.47 rounded to 348.50 or should we just leave it as 348.5
Either way is fine. 348.50 and 348.5 are the exact same value.

So the hundreds side start with 1 but the hundredths side is straight up 10ths, hundredths, 1000ths etc
First spot to the right of the decimal is tenths, then hundredths, then thousandths, etc.

Mr. Brandon, I am taking the teas practice tests and it has some answers to problems I don't understand how they got them. I need help. I'm so confused.

Brandon Craft its an expressions question but they ask if you decrease the x in the expression by a number how much the expression would be. Is there any way I can show you the expression and answer? This looks like Japanese. I'm frustrated.

Brandon Craft if x in the expression 3(x+9)-12 is decreased by 9 how much will the value of the expression be changed?
And what solution are you given? 27?
