i love the way you talk with a client, giving advice time to time a little compliment, and the flow is so naturally , nothing what would sound you are pushy
This was a case where the client had to trust the barber. It turned out great for him. He had great hair and a face shape to pull off the longer hair. Many times we want a look that’s not possible due to many factors. Me included. As usual Dan did an amazing job.
Dan is such a pro lol, sometimes people fail to understand that your barber could give you exactly what you wanted and you still might not like it, but you won't blame yourself for choosing a style that doesn't suit you, you'll blame the barber lol, in the end both need to work as a team because it's not just the customer wanting to look good. Well done as usual :)
The guy got a bit of a dressing down here but I totally appreciate the education and pearls of wisdom in a consultation…Dan with his experience educates his clients to be better informed…really great episode…the end results was fab
The sound of the scissors is so pleasant that I feel like I can fall asleep quickly. I thank Dan Gregory for helping me get to sleep. Could he bring more of these videos? Thanks again
Loved the hircut on client. But i really loved how mr.dan hair is stylish and very good length. Please make a video for haircut like your hair in this video. Best of luck 🙏🏼
Perfect blending scissors cut and style. No matter how he parts or combs his hair it will fall perfectly and be low maintenance and looking good for several weeks. Great job. Your scissors work is the best.
This cut is what he needs. It looks good on him. At first i got confused about the Robert Pattinson photo cause that is he's hairstyle before the cut but what Dan did is what complimented his facial structure and jawline
Standing ovation for such a consultation!!! Goes without saying that unless you a Pro and have an understanding of hair like Dan has, it’s very hard to have such an in depth chat. But I’ve jotted down a few things, food for thought. Smashed as always. Thanks guys!
Loved the cut. I think the client looked a bit dejected post-consultation. My interpretation is that the disconnect during the consultation was over the terms dan was using. "Texture" seemed to be misunderstood. Glad to see such a nice end result and Dan did a good job of explaining that the client wasn't going to be the RP bedhead look sans product.
I realize this was long ago (year's) but this guy is a trip lol I want a haircut but not a haircut and it has to be messy but not messy and I don't want it short in the back but it needs to be short! Lmbo 😅 and Dan omg bless his heart he's being sooo patient you can see the look on his face and he's trying not to laugh 😂 and then we get "only took 15 minutes" I'm dying hahaha
Brilliant! We have been doing dad's hair since March 2020, and my dad was getting a bit "tired" of the clipper cut in back (always clippers in back, scissors up top). For summer? Yes, fine, but now for winter, he keeps postponing his haircut saying it's not long enough to cut yet and too chilly. It, of course is the clipper cut in back and how short we went last time. This is something we are going to try for him, all scissors. And it doesn't look too complicated and seems a nice length. After more than a year of doing his hair, it's not that difficult anymore, even though, we always appreciate the art of providing someone with a professional haircut, but we have to do what we have to do. Numbers are spiking in Belgium, with this 4th wave we're in. No way he's going to a barber. So *thank you so much* for this!
How do you cut hair when it’s really curly ONLY around the hairline? Straight hair like his but super curly around the hairline by the ears and around the back.
I have to say that Dan is a Saint. Two weeks in a row you have people going all over the place in explaining what they want. Last week tge guy liked his curls but wanted you to shave his head, this week this guy wanted to keep the length but still had you cut most of it off. Just thank you for not doing another fade. Fades are only slightly better than mullets.
Ive always hated skin fades or even just clippered back and sides, this sort of length always looks way better imo especially if there's a fair amount of length on top. Many barbers seem like they can't be bothered when I tell them I want my back and sides scissor cut. One time a barber ignored what I said and put the number 3 to my head before I could even say anything. Never went back after that.
A lot of barbers around my area dont even know how to use scissors only clippers and i hear that a lot from people all over. Ive had several people go get their fades done and have me cut the top.
@@hellocupcakexD I think alot of barbers have gotten used to how quick and easy using clippers is and want to completely ignore scissors. I've never come across a barber that couldn't even cut the top of my hair using scissors, if I did I'd find that absolutely ridiculous and say they need to go into a different line of work. Blokes having to get a fade done from one person and then having to visit someone else to get the top cut is way too much hassle, that just proves so many barbers ain't good enough to be doing the job.
This guy didn't know what he wanted . He didn't want it off the ears but did. He wanted to see it at the back but didn't . Showed 2 different hair cuts. Didn't want an undercut but had one ... Well done Dan
@@RegalGentleman I’d love for U to demonstrate a haircut like that because I feel it’s very similar to what I’ve been going for but never quite had perfected. I understand it’d be hard to find the right person though. I always struggle to know what to tell the barber but this video was really insightful
Excellent barbering content - I'm new to the industry and appreciate your approach. Subscribed! Is it true the barbering industry is unregulated in the UK? Does it not require a "license" ? Thanks! Great point cutting!
@@RegalGentleman thank you for your reply. I had no idea. I’m in the US and while each state is different, we require on average 2000 hours of on site learning to qualify for a license. I wonder if the demand for barbers is high in the UK?
What I'd like to know is, how does this client ever get a haircut he likes? He had such a hard time deciding on what he wanted--it seemed to keep changing. I'm surprised it looked as good as it did before the haircut. Basically, he just needed a good all-over trim. He should learn how to use a simple product in his hair--that can be a one-minute process. I think when he said he didn't want an undercut, he was thinking of a classic supershort sides with flopping top, as opposed to a slight disconnection. He thinks his hair was long. Maybe a bit long on top, but still a medium length style before the cut. Thanks Dan, for encouraging him to keep some length, it really suits him.
Hey.. I am growing my hair.. Going for the bradley copper hairatyle in a star is born... Any tips or maybe a haircut tutorial.. How long should i wat for a haircut? Any help would be appreciated
Depends how long you’ve been growing it! Best advice though is always just keep growing it! Grow it about a month or two past the length you want. If you get to a point where you feel like you can’t keep going then that’s the time to get a haircut. But you don’t want to lose much length. Just get the haircut balanced and show a photo the end result that you want when you do go for a haircut!
Please help me out. I’m 31 male with a round fringe. I have never found a hairstyle that suits me properly. I have fine hair (always had this since I was a kid) not balding yet lol. Could you please throw some suggestions my way.
