I own a 2nd Gen Raptor, when you buy something and drive it day to day, your view of what is important changes. The 20-22mpg for cruising on the highway is a pretty big perk when you go on trips, or a general commute too. While having a significant off road capability when you choose to do so.

Choosing power and acceleration for vehicles that are designed for off road capabilities is a very poor conclusion. You should test them in the environment they were developed for and choose the best one. That’s are many off road situations that power and acceleration are your worst enemy and weight and suspension are your best friend.

Jackyl Smith I fully understand your point. However both are fairly similar in there off road capabilities. Strong suspension with plenty flex, similar weight tho I think trx may be heavier and all the different drive modes which are very effective. Similar gearing ratios and low range gearing I would assume. The power is what differentiates them. There are certain circumstances off road where you need to absolutely power out of a situation and that's where the trx comes into its own. I'm not saying trx is better off road than raptor but just showing that power does make a huge difference

@@anthonyramdin1037 Tho the thing is off roading is not about just power, and when it coms down to it, too power and too much weight is actually bad. The Raptor beats the TRX on any race because it's lighter and it has quick and easy power delivery, it's super nimble and quick around corners and certain areas where the TRX would have to brute force itself through, not to mention the amount of gasoline you would use, the Raptor would still be going down the trail while the TRX is dead in the water. So many factors they ignored, not to mention the Raptor beats the TRX in pretty much every category, same way the TRX did with the 2 gen raptor and everyone praised the heck out of it than so why isn't the raptor getting an advantage here ?

Couple things, I just got the 21 Raptor on 37s. It doesn’t require premium fuel. I’m sure it will run better on it. But when I was deciding between these 2, I was having a hard time thinking about paying for premium fuel knowing how bad they both drink gas. The other thing that put me over the top was all the infotainment issues I had with my 20 Ram 1500. It will always be a back and forth driven by trying to out perform the other company. I am glad the TRX came out because it forced Ford to step it up. My perspective is that the review had some good comparisons, but these trucks are not in their element. There was no Baja style test done where you’re going over woops, to show which vehicle’s suspension fades less after extended use, or if those 37s soak up the holes better to help keep a higher constant speed while off-roading. There was no mention of suspension travel or ground clearance. You can have 700 hp all day long, but if you can’t mash the throttle cuz your suspension and tires can’t handle the woops and the jumps, then what’s the point? I get it though. It’s hard to find something like that in Colorado maybe. Colorado is rock crawling, mountain climbing, approach/departure angle central. But that’s not where shocks that have bypasses and additional reservoirs for cooling, really shine, is it? For that you need speed… and woops. Hope to see you out in Southern California’s Ocotillo Wells, Glamis sand dunes and/or Johnson Valley for a REAL test of what these trucks were designed for. 😉

People either have to buy from a dealer that doesn't charge ADM and wait 6-18 months (looking at some of the Bronco order holders here) or pay ADM somewhere and get it sooner.
Last year when I went to look at TRX and Raptors the dealers were charging 90+k for used 2020 Raptors. There were used TRX trucks that were well over 110k and there were no new Raptors or TRX trucks available anywhere without waiting. Every dealer I contacted was charging ADM and the Ford teams wanted 20-30k ADM and the RAM teams were asking 5-10k at the time. This effectively made them within 10k of each other if not the same price.
If the purpose is to educate buyers then that should be mentioned. The TFL team has already covered this in other videos and podcasts so a reference to any of that content for context would help anyone actively considering these trucks.
