As great as Misfits are, Hardcore and Thrash were already firmly established before Earth AD released in December '83. Earth AD itself being hardcore meets Speed Metal. Speed Metal itself being the precursor to Thrash which was already established before Earth AD. Nu metal came from RATM and Primus, certainly NOT Misfits and no death metal band was ever influenced by Misfits either.
Will Rahmer is the fucking best. We played Chicago Domination Fest together. He didn’t say a word but as soon as we ended our set we wanted to take a pic with all the band and him…he took our phone himself and did a pic with each of us singularly hahah what a sick fucking guy. Total legend.

People who complain about the horror intros to Tish songs are posers who have no business listening to them. As a huge Horror fan, I love all the intros. I'm currently trying to complete my Mortician horror movie collection. Every film from a Tish song brahs. Can't wait for the new album! Also, we need reissues of Domain of Death!
Growing up I would use the intros of Mortician songs as a way to find good horror movies to watch. That’s how I found some really good movies like Pieces, Deranged, and a lot of the Lucio Fulci stuff. A lot of the more well known movies I had already seen by that time like Dawn of the Dead and Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
torsofuck's erotic diarrhea fantasy has movie intros and a drum machine but the intros aren't super indulgent (except for maybe the opening track) and all the songs flow together better - nothing against the tish but house by the cemetery for example is at best 55% music and 45% samples - way too much

Back in 2004, I was 17 and ordered The Hacked up for BBQ and Zombie Split from a Cd shop in my little Southern Ontario town. It took months to arrive and I remember picking it up and bringing it home to the country side road house we lived in. It felt like I was opening the book of the dead in the evil dead movies. It was Gold. Huge Mortician Fan up in Toronto! If I had to pick one song House by the Cemetary.
I managed. They didn't cost as much as the ticket, flight and hotel I recently paid for to see them in Clifton NJ on December 7. Flying from Toronto to Newark to see my favorite death metal band. Haha!!

For me this was the best interview so far J-Dawg. As a huge horror fan and a huge death metal fan mortician are like the perfect steak with a glass of the greatest fine wine. One of the best bands in metal for me. Sadly due to being in the U.K. and money being tight I have not seen them as I would have to travel to the states, but I hope I will be able to see them one day. Absolutely legendary 100% in my top 10 bands of all time. I remember listening to house by the cemetery at like 12/13 and it absolutely blew me away!
I saw Mortician 3 times here in London, got Will, Roger and Sam to sign my cds! Will was very cool. When he signed with my silver pen it leaked out over one of the booklets and because of that he very kindly went straight to their merch table, swapped the ruined cover for a brand new one and then re-signed it!!
Will lived around the block from me. Super cool dude. Haven’t seen him in a while but Ross and I still hang. He has a huge record collection. Always was in good shape. Shoutouts to Mortician, Immolation and Breakdown #YONKERS💯🔥🔥🔥

I am highly convinced that Will Rahmer is Death Metal! He was built like a beast back in the day and even though he has lost a bit of weight he still looks great today!

I got to hang out with Mortician and Skinless at a hotel after a show in the early 2000s. Will was cool as shit and I got to talk horror movies with Roger. Lots of Coors light. I'll never forget it. Tied for best memory with getting to hang with Seth Putnum.

@@odinsire3879 that’s the case with the deathcore scene in general, most of them only listen to deathcore and know virtually no other styles of metal, besides garbage ass djent or something (which isn’t metal at all) Whereas a trad heavy metal guy might also like some thrash and power metal, death metal guy might also like black metal and doom, etc.

I got to hang out with Mortician and Skinless at a hotel after a show in the early 2000s. Will was cool as shit and I got to talk horror movies with Roger. Lots of Coors light. I'll never forget it. Tied for best memory with getting to hang with Seth Putnum.
Love Will so much. Met him after a phenomenal performance at AMH. He was super sweet n spoke about his experience in Poland!

Saw his interview with Dying Fetus. Garza seems like he just discovered metal yesterday. Weird for a guy with such a reputation as this big metal podcaster in the metal scene. Then again, not weird considering the poser band he is from.
@@odinsire3879 that’s the case with the deathcore scene in general, most of them only listen to deathcore and know virtually no other styles of metal, besides garbage ass djent or something (which isn’t metal at all)
Whereas a trad heavy metal guy might also like some thrash and power metal, death metal guy might also like black metal and doom, etc.
Loved this interview, Will is looking terrific for his age.
