Episode 31
First We Feast videos offer an iconoclastic view into the culinary world, taking you behind-the-scenes with some of the country's best chefs and finding the unexpected places where food and pop culture intersect.
This guy never gets boring. Always comes with new videos other than wings and interviewing celebrities (which i like a lot) but i like these episodes too. Best guy ever.
He's a solid interviewer for sure! I would bet he has a monster team developing the ideas behind the scenes, too!
DenserMountain fr man never gave credit to those guys.
Sean's the man. Genuinely a fantastic interviewer
brisvegan89 Sean better open his own restaurant for real. He has been taught by greats.
I hope that next episode is Jiro Ono.
He is the best here in Tokyo!
Couldn’t agree more, it makes my day when I see a new video with him
such a natural
He's awesome. However, I fear the guy might be a robot.
Nope. You are wrong.
The new king of trending! Sean Evans!!! Boooom
Am I right??!
Sauce Stache I think I saw a comment of yours on binging with babish lol
Used to be brave wilderness
EQ-smoove You people? Im a fucking FISH!! And i will be more famous than Dory, you just watch me fella! I am going upstream, laying eggs and those eggs will hatch and swim downstream to impregnate other fish who will give birth to my grandchildren who will grow up to be even bigger than Nemo
Sauce Stache wow
"Look at me fillet a fish, Chef!"
*notice me senpai*
Exactly, nobody coming out of there will be a sushi chef. They'll know how to make sushi better than most people sure, but it takes decades to earn the title of chef in any style of cooking.
I'd like to take the course though, it looks like fun.
The point is to get would be chefs in tune to know what I feels like to be sous chef in a real sushi kitchen. Obviously "Damn near Sous chef, institute" isn't an effective name
Sean is great, always humble but assertive and never afraid to try.
Woah this is a trip. I studied under Chef Andy Matsuda and graduated from SCI years ago. Hell yeah, Andy is an amazing instructor.
I really enjoy how respectfull Sean is
Like a 1950’s Mustang? They came out in 64 Sean lol
Steve-O - You can call it, unreal (;
And the first mustangs were pretty boxy not round
hahaha that funny. as soon as I heard this I went directly to the comments to see if people caught it. crazy!
Steve-O that was my take away too😂😂😂
same! and then i was gonna type up a comment like yours haha
I love how much pride goes into a chefs sushi dish, so respectful and elegant
Props to Sean! Chef is a man of few words and Sean keeps the interview going.
I have never seen any interviewer who is more charismatic and endearing than Sean. Truly a great guy all over. He is so awesome at what he is doing. 10/10 for being the best my man!
as a chef, Sean's knife work gave me a nails on a chalk board feeling lol but everyone starts somewhere. nice job Evans! loved learning a little sushi
2:36 Uh Sean, it was already dead.
Nani?!?
VΞGΛEidolom
it aint dead unless Sean says so
Best use of the Nani?!? Meme I've seen so far, hats off.
Jérémy Beaud omae wa mou shindeiru
Sean's willingness to learn while asking questions is quite remarkable keep up the good work man.
as someone getting into blades and sharpening. I have nothing but the utmost respect for a sushi chefs and how well they can sharpen their knives
It's nice seeing caillou moving up in the world.
He had to get a day job when that PBS ran out
this is the comment of the year in my book.
I actually love sean, he is so respectful to people
Matsuda seems like such a patient teacher, and he gives such clear instructions. Makes me really wish I could take his class.
So early that my fish still in the ocean!
How original
that could literally be a dope ass bar
You win. Best early comment ever seen. Congratulations.
How original
Hannstagram I'm so early my fish is still row
Shawn is my favorite internet personality rn, so genuine and funny. Thank you for the content !!!
More Sean and the Italian-American pizza dude, please! This has easily become one of my top 3 favorite youtube channels! Even have the notifications turned on, which is very very rare for me.
Sean, love that your getting out there n learning, but every cook knows, no watches on your wrist!
Clearly he's just showing off. No harm no foul.
Ryan Oliver cross contamination sir
I mean, given the options, nobody is eating what Sean made anyway. XD
Tyler Akers Makes no sense to me. Wedding rings are allowed by the health deparment, yet watches are not. You actually have to time meats to cook properly. Even in sushi proteins can only be unrefrigerated for a specific period. Just wash your watch with your hands and arms. Sean's watch was a bit ostentatious for kitchen work, however. :)
i really love how even though seans cooking skills are obviously pretty rudimentary, he’s alway down to improve, learn from great chefs and put his skills to the test all on camera and in front of a wide online audience. respect
You shouldn't think you're a bad personality, you seem genuine and commited to food and have a passion for what you do. keep up the quality videos bud :)
I'm from Ensenada Baja California, and for sure I feel proud that the fish coming from here it's considerated high quality, even to top chefs like this master!
I love this channel! ❤
Sean should where a culinary jacket more often lol
yea but the culinary jacket should also be a hoodie
Zoblad lmao that would be awesome..
kronic 900 wear*
C W *hwheare**
looks hysterical.
Your daily reminder that $1 sushi in Japan tastes just as good as $500 dollar sushi in NYC
+Alexey Kiyashenko it would prolly be cheaper for me to fly to Japan and get 1$ sushi instead of 500$ sushi
I like how sean goes on a journey to learn about everything that involves food. What a fantastic guy!
I think you are a really likeable guy who does your homework, works hard, but seems to enjoy all the moments of your work. It makes for good entertainment, Thank you.
Sean seems like a nice guy to hang around with..
He would sure make a great friend.
Sean might be most likable interviewer I've ever seen, including all late night hosts. Tremendously talented guy.
"Hey, what's goin' on, everybody?"
YEEAAAAAAH SHOJI!!!!!!!!
whoa crookback calm down
Stop saing that for hell sakks
unlocked from first we feast I'm sean evans
3:52 turn the caption on lmao
just really nice to you Sean doing different stuff like that....loved it.
cheers from brazil
He has so much pride about making sushi it’s very wholesome
The chef was great at finding a balance between it being an interview/show and showing what's actually done
Sean is dope. He seems very genuine and real.
He sounds like Adam Sandler trying to do a Asian accent.
My first thought exactly
It can't be unheard
He dips his fingers in delicious H2O.
"It's still just a finesse game" the chef is just moving forward...lmao I love Sean
fuck im hungry now
Same.

Insert Innuendo Here
I watch tis at 1130pm while high as fuck. Wanna break into shitty wok rii naow
Now this is a good youtube channel.
I took an intensive class of four hours to learn how to make sushi. Now i just need a lot of practice, but it's really fun and cool.
Another awesome video Sean! Everyone over at first we feast is doing an amazing job. 👌😊
Sean deserves all the fame he's getting, such a charming dude😍
i fucking love sushi. i fucking love wasabi. i fucking love sean evans. and i fucking love sushi master chefs.. they 're always so wise but.. fun people at the same time and you can literally see their expertise in every micro-movement of their hands, fingers or even in the attention to detail in their looks.
elite quality content as usual. First We Feast = Best YT Channel atm.
That's so awsome. Looks great for a first time. A true artform. I want to try. I think I have the basics down somewhat.
In school I used to always question why the things we were learning were relevant to our us. Now I willfully click on these kinds of videos...
This is awesome, I love the educational and respectful tone
Sean does videos about food so fucking well, it's fun and educational to a degree. great shit man
Really appreciate the addressing of the extensive training Japanese chefs undergo. Doubly appreciate the no bullshit response, "We try our best".
You know, I didn't have a chef teach me my first time and it shows. Sean has pretty good looking rolls.
There’s just something about Sean’s accent that’s so weird but so satisfying 👌👌👌
Sean's learning the building blocks of Shushi. What a legend.
Was that music at the beginning the beep beep boop boop song Mr Krabs was requesting for on the radio in that Robot Krabs episode?
electric zoo
What I really like about this video is that, unlike Gordon Ramsay, the chef isn't blowing his lid because you didn't do it right. We need more chefs like this in the world.
At work watching this video... this school only a few miles away in Torrance 👍🏼
Honestly super proud of Sean. Great work!
I just get the feeling Chef Ramsay is watching.. a very sudden chill going down his spine as he forces himself to watch ..and the words and expression "Its Rawww!!!" deforms against his will his face as if he'd be actually stating such a phrase.
Thats when he realizes he needs to be on Hot Ones!
This chef's American English is impeccable.
S/O to him for learning correctly.
Sean is killing this interview game. It's a matter of time till someone start biting his style.
At work with no food and watching this video..what the fuck am I doing..
DazzlingDavidoff Not working apparently
Well yes I'm working but I still can watch video's. Welcome to 2017
we need more sean in the wild! WITHOUT SEAN THIS SHOW IS NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I used to be a sushi chef. Certainly a steep learning curve in my experience, but it was also my first restaurant job.
Man you are one of my favorite channels. Keep up the great work!
Gotta revisit this guy some day Sean. Fun show, fun topic, not to long. Please take us back in a year or so when you have more better culinary skills under your belt. I learned a lot from the dude. :)
Very good recipes
Damn. Respect to sushi chefs! That's an art form.
I love you. "Like a 1950's mustang." Except I believe they made the first one in 1964 lol
Rain Wilson was thinking the same thing. I was like 🤔. Perhaps he meant a 1950s Chevy. With that classic shape they had
TRIGGERED
I'm sure he meant a 50s corvette.
I'm sure that he had no idea what he was on about, because he has no script and says the first thing that comes into his head!
I think he just was gonna go generic "car" but figured anything specific (however unreal) would get you talking. He may be a genius.
Why do i feel like there's someone out there
who does a perfect impression of Sean Evans?
Does Sean have an episode making wings? Figure that would be a must... taking about wings with/without batter, different wing-styles from different regions/cultures? Or visiting Anchor Bar or where-ever in Buffalo, where the Buffalo wing came from...?
Making Sushi at home is fun. I did it a few weeks back and it wasn't even that hard. Did create a lot of dishes tho, but thats worth it
I swear i watch every damn sushi video that ever comes out and each time I'm always like, "oh damn.. its just fish and rice.."
I’m telling you Sean let’s up that watch presence! 👍🏼 would love to help with that
Wow. This taught me a lot. Thanks!
I love where this channel is going
Making sushi is such a craft. Every sushi chef has their own personality with their piece. It's never fish on rice.
Just had the best sushi of my life in Tokyo last night. Zomg. So good.
The sushi looks good! I just posted a video a couple days ago about sushi in Tokyo! Also, Mr. Matsuda's technique is def on the Master level
4:49 Sean: "That's my style!" Andy: "Okay, whatever you say, junior."
Seans great buy i love this chef too,
Sean you did better than me when trying to do sushi for my first time, but I think the Chef was being polite :)
Great video! So interesting to watch and informational at the same time
First We Feast really putting out some quality content. And Sean Evans really is an amazing host! Well played guys!
My favorite is temaki sushi. So easy and convenient to make.
Can you tell us how important the rice is for sushi?
Explains his cooking process.
Sean is just great!
I think Sean secretly wants to be a stand-up comedian he’s used that analogy like 10 times
Hi Sean...nice gold watch. Can you tell me what brand/model it is?
Good job, Sean!
My favorite intro instrumental. :D
I'm genuinely curious about how much Sean believes he's improved culinary-wise. He's seen and done quite a but in the last few years.
That's the great thing about learning to make sushi, even when you mess up, it'll still taste pretty good!
Awesome video to watch while on the toilet! 5stars
best show on youtube
I loved this episode.
I just want one of those knives!
great series, love how he was honest with the ratings lol
I see a video with Sean in, I click
haha little finger action! Sean and his one liners :)
@0:35 THAT ACTION POSE!
I love when Sean refers to himself in the third person
new subscriber here, thanks to PhilyD's enthusiastic repeated recommendations :) I enjoyed watching this, and learned some too! well done :D
