      My wife told me to tell your family they might want to reconsider getting an RV with an exterior door where your bed is. I agree. If one wants sleep in and the other wants to go out, the door is right there.

    Can I just say that I appreciate the raw, REAL, human emotion of buying an RV for the first time? Can I also say how much I appreciate the fact that you guys showed us the TRUE buying experience (no sugar-coating needed)? The ups and downs, highs and lows. The RV dealer's pay-more-down-but-have-higher-interest tom-foolery that makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE whatsoever!!! I'm learning so much from their experience and it's a good thing they have you guys to help them out. I'm positive they'll wind up with the camper they enjoy, that they can afford, and that they will feel good about buying!
    I can't wait to see what they wind up getting but I want them to take as much time as they need to get what is best for them. Don't worry about what you've told people; worry about what will make you happy!!
    This is akin to buying a used car, going to all the lots, and hoping to find the right car at the right price. But you'll find it AND be happy with your purchase in the end because you're taking the knowledge you've learned and utilizing it in the way it should be used! By watching their journey, I'm learning so much! I think when I go to buy my RV, I'll have a list of what I think I may want to see as well as time and space to see things that I may not have had the time to research because they're newer models not posted on the manufacturer's websites. Again, I can't wait for the "saga" to continue (in a good way)!
    PS - I'm working on my credit even more now. If they're having issues with excellent credit, what happens to those of us with only good or less-than-perfect credit? It's scary out there!!! Thx again for the video. Carolyn and Darin, HANG IN THERE!!! You've got GREAT coaches!!

    I bought my Motorhome used and it was an easy process because I did not need financing due to the price. I did not know as much at the time and did not have an inspection but got lucky and had no issues other than normal maintenance items. It sure helps if you are handy and can fix some issues yourself. The warranty covers issues but some are not worth having fixed under the warranty due to the time and questionable skill of some dealer tech's.

    This is almost exactly how our RV life started 3 years ago. I couldn't do anything but laugh as I watched this episode. 3 years ago, I purchased our 2018 Wildwood 180RT and we love it. Our tow vehicle was a Chevy conversion van. We now have a Toyota Tundra and we're upgrading our RV this year. The climbing over each other to get out of bed has gotten annoying. We are currently looking at the Grey Wolf 22RR. Our current rate of 15% with Merrick Bank is ridiculous. I knew it then but I wanted that RV. Wish us luck on getting a better rate. Love you guys. Enjoy this day. Enjoy this life 😊.

      Glad you found an RV you love and you are out there making memories and enjoying your camper. Not everyone has the option of paying cash and in the end life is short and we need to make the most of it while we can. Best of luck with a better rate. The expectation is that we will see some downward movement this year. Safe Travels!

    I have never and will never go to RV shows-personally, that just looked like a confusing mess -Mr Big feet wasn’t in to much of a hurry to get out of his comfy seat to help you or show you the pamphlet-We just deal with the dealerships -Unfortunately, interest rates are high and I don’t see them coming down anytime soon -We aren’t ever going to buy another RV because they aren’t made very well even the top of line brands -We are just going to try and keep the wheels rolling and when they or we don’t roll anymore, we will be done RVing -Happy Trails ⭐️🚌🇺🇸

      There are some advantages to going to a show. The keystone rep, aka size 17 shoe, did come through and helped us out when the dealership started getting out of hand. We'll talk about that more at the live on Thursday. It's sad how many people the RV industry is pushing away because of poor quality units. Instead of building repeat customers they are building a never again client base. I hope you can continue to have many, many more years of enjoyment with your current camper. Safe travels!

    Do not finance with a RV dealer. Finance with your local credit union. Better terms, better support, and they aren't trying to slip in any surprises with RV "upgrades" that you didn't agree to.

      We talked to our local credit unions and they will NOT carry a 20 year loan. Max is 15 years which will make your monthly payment higher so that could take away from things you want to see on the road.

      @lilricky2515 Рік тому

      @@RickandDarcirvadventures Makes sense, when there is no chance you will be using a towable RV for 20 years.... But why 20 years??? A 2024 Bullet Crossfire 1900RD will cost around $20,000 new. So a 20 year loan, at 6%, would only be $143.29 a month! If that's above your budget, maybe a RV shouldn't be the top thing on your list...

    I still have not bought an RV. It is indeed the interest rate that is killing the mood and affordability. I kind of did it right to start, I just bought my new Ford F350 to pull or carry our new RV, but I am really tight on cash because I paid for the truck cash. The truck would have cost me 7% to finance and when you extrapolate what that would cost me over the lifetime of the load if I decided to finance it I'm sure it would have cost me 1.2 bajillion dollars more than the truck was worth! I saved a LONG, Looooong time for this truck and that is how I paid cash for it so don't think I am all that and a bag of money! It was a long-term plan and we held to it. The same follows the RV purchase especially now that we spent most of our cash savings for our retirement RV purchasing on the truck. We are going to have to finance whatever we choose, and those rates obviously are going to cost us in the long run. I hate debt, we usually cash and carry, but dang! I can feel the frustration from here as those good people are suffering the consequences on this economy right now. This video is why we are very slow and cautious as we refuse to make a bad, regretful choice. Learned a lot over the years of UA-cam education so we at least have a clue. Hoping everything works out for those good people and they find an affordable, satisfactory choice and purchase!

      The interest rates are terrible right now compared to 1 year ago. And, I have to admit we knew it would be high but I didn't expect 9-10%. If we were to buy now it would have to be with cash. just like you did with your truck. In the end my bother and his wife made a smart decision which we will discuss in our live on Thursday. Hope this economy improves soon!

    Not everyone can afford to buy an RV cash but what's even worse is financing one. Because these rigs painfully depreciate like there is no 'morrow. Hence, interest rates are higher than other big item purchases.

    • @AmpedtoGlamp

    I was enjoying their experience up until that Bait and Switch financing, that should be illegal. If they are buying new i wonder if they are better off having the financing in place at their own bank and negotiating it as a cash deal. I would think you could find a gently used trailer similar specs in a private sale and leave the sleazy sales people out altogether and it would be even better.
