I appreciated hearing about some of the subtler topics around the changes to RV living. They're maybe even more real that the mechanics of RVing. Thank you!
Very good video , one of the best I ever see. Honest words. Most of channels out there are just profiting on youtube views. Nothing against them. Anyways Great job.
@@DustyTrailRV please address the costs of on-road repair shops and assessing value of workmanship. Are these shops able to do good quality warranty work?
@@beckyelliott2871 Hey! Great point! On-the-road repair shops and mobile repair techs can do great work. Like anything else, you must do your research and due diligence to ensure you only allow qualified professionals to work on your rig. There are many forums and online resources where people can discuss the costs of this work.
Great video and topic. I pick up my used, 25ft class C that I’m paying cash (got a rv inspection) , bought a used Thousand Trails Adventure membership paid off. This provides me the piece of mind that I’ll always have a RV spot. This allows me to just deal with monthly expenses, which I am disciplined with. I’ve been researching, planning and dreaming of going full time RV since 2021 and I am so excited. I’m taking the online Rv training course to learn how to fix and maintain it myself. I think this is a great lifestyle so long as you research and know what you are getting into and have realistic expectations. I’m nervous but more excited than anything!
Now RV parks won't let in any RV that is older than 10 years old. Apparently, people pull them in and abandon them because it's cheaper to do that than to dispose of the RV themselves. Or they are not maintained and now the people can't pull them out. This is expensive... This is why my rig can be parked in a parking lot, and go stealth. I'm in a cargo van.
Yep! Some RVers definitely ruined it for the rest of us. The age rule is a very unfortunate rule, but there are definitely parks who will still accept older rigs. And, I am glad you found a way that works for you! I have heard from a bunch of people love going stealth and almost never go to RV parks. That's why this lifestyle is great. You can do it whichever way works best for you!
As she said it's more of a challenge in the east or the south. I'm from Florida trying to move older 5th wheel back there but I can't afford what some senior RV resort park wants to charge. I had also never heard about lot rent that goes sky high during snowbird season. But it is do-able just takes more effort and don't expect alot you can feel awesome especially if your craving g the disconnect, it can for some be easier especially if you're independant or more spiritual ... feels nearly "Totally Freeing" not for everyone but if u like it 👍🏞👩🏻🇺🇲🌠❤️🔥
@@boy777jc97 I think you are totally right. It takes more effort, but is great if it is right for you. I hope you have better luck relocating down here. Especially with the rising lot rents.
Thank you. ✌️🙂, Awesome information. I really appreciate your honesty. I'm like you as for being an introvert. I'm feeling that I'm into being an rv person. I've been in a sticks and bricks life and I'm retired now. This has really given me the right stuff to be concerning. Thanks again ✌️😏 🌈🎶
I hope this was helpful! I think RVing is a great opportunity! Especially for retirees! Congrats on the retirement. What are so other topics that I could cover that you would find helpful?
SMART! Vans are built to handle heavier loads and objects for longer periods and distances than RVs, that are slapped together in a quicker time frame and with cheaper materials at higher prices for the quality you think you are getting - RVs- a POOR CHOICE!
That is so exciting for you! This lifestyle is absolutely wonderful, and preparation makes it so much easier to start out. Are there any topics I could cover that you would find particularly helpful?
