Ken, I am brand new to blacksmithing and have been watching smithing videos like crazy. While most have been very helpful (Black Bear Forge, esp.), none are your level of instruction. Just a couple days ago I forged my very first project…a coat hook 😂. Took me probably two hours using 3/8” rebar, but got it done. Wish I’d found your channel long ago, but subbed now. Thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Very informative, and this is a much better way to learn. I’ve been practicing on scrap steel. For me the steel is extremely cheap to get. I get it free out of the dumpster at work. Propane is not cheap though.
Ken, great instruction, as simple and straightforward a demonstration as it gets. Ps, I just got my Mz75 up and running, finally, it is a real pleasure to use, very controllable, even for me. Thanks for all you do.
Thanks so much for the videos for beginner blacksmiths it really helps keep up the great videos keep up the great craftsmanship and work with ur business helping blacksmiths forge on
Great idea. My first pair of tongs are still not done. Next few were from your blanks which improved with each pair. My second pair from stock are still along way from neat. This idea is the way to do it. So after practicing you don’t have to think of next step.
Hey Mr. Ken I just received a set of your rapid tongs. They are impressive I'm looking forward to putting them together later today. I have made one pair from rebar they are o.k. your rapid kit tongs are on a whole new level.thank you for an excellent product.
So if you're a left-handed smith you would rotate clockwise instead of counterclockwise? Also, the 45-degree turn would be in the opposite direction than Ken shows in the video.
I have a bunch of tongs forged of clay......they keep breaking....and won't hold my hot steel.....not sure what I am doing wrong.....did I get defective clay???😁
I picked up both the rapid and quick packages. So far I’ve butchered a couple of them but they hold metal. I’m a complete rookie, but so far I can’t complain!
What a stroke of genius doing the demonstration in clay!!!

If you give away all your secrets no one will buy your tong blanks. :)
