- Thanks to Rallysport Direct and Faction Fab we got our hands on the newest entry level performance coilovers on the market!
During the driving review of the FR-Spec coilovers I was pretty impressed with the adjustability. They are very dynamic, comfortable at a soft setting and handle amazing on the stiff setting.

I kno this is from 2yrs ago but it's one if the best coilover reviews I seen yet 👍🏽
Boom! Answered my question about daily driving the FR Spec coilovers. Thank you!!
Mission accomplished! 🙌🏻 let me know how you like them🤝
Thanks for the love and the honest review!!!!! Plus your GD is HAWT!
Eyyyy! Thank you 🤙🏻 I enjoyed them more than I expected when I was just judging by the price point!
pro tip: watch series at flixzone. I've been using it for watching lots of of movies recently.
@Felipe Rowen yea, have been watching on Flixzone} for months myself =)
@Felipe Rowen yup, have been watching on flixzone} for years myself :D
@Felipe Rowen yea, I've been watching on flixzone} for years myself =)
Such a good review. Definitely going with these after this video. Thanks!
Rad! 🤘🏻 hope you like them.
Awesome channel awesome scoob. Deserves way more recognition.
Damn! Ty ty ty 🙏🏻👊🏻
I can’t believe there is this clean of a bugeye in ut!! What a dream car
Thanks man! 🤘🏻
I’ve had mine on since December and haven’t left the soft setting. Super comfortable for daily driving. Handle bumps and turns very well. After watching this I might spice my drive up and go to the Medium setting for a bit.
How are they doing? Any issues?
@@davo5400 not a single issue. I’ve been to the Medium setting which was fine. I also went to the hardest setting which was super bouncy but still handled well. I’m back at the soft setting to appease the wife. She hates the bounce and drives a full size truck. 🤷🏼♂️ my only gripe/complaint has been that I wanted to go a little bit lower but I’m basically maxed out low in the rear. These do not go very low at all so if that’s what you’re looking for then get the FL ones.
@@davo5400 also, I have several pics on my IG of the stance they give with the lowest setting and -2 degrees of camber all the way around if you want to check it out. @ace_on_wheels
@@aceonwheels2349 not ad low as i want either but i live in nj and have a wife as well. So it’s like stock at the softest setting? Does it take the floating around feeling the stock suspension had?
You have the fr or f spec?
That's for making this video I saw these on Ft speed factory just glad I can see how they are.
Thanks for watching! Not bad for the price!
@@Supertuner yeah I really like different stuff and I pride my self and car to be different then other BRZ/FRS/86 out here. But thanks to you guys showing how it actually is for an everyday consumer!!!
Have fun with the build man! 🤘🏻
That’s how you review a product! I think im going to get these but still deciding if FA500’s would be more worth it in the long run for rebuildability.
I’ve had the FA as well, super nice coilovers especially for the price.
Hey thanks for taking the time to show and tell this setup!! Just wondering how they are holding up so far? Just don't wanna buy coilovers if they have to be rebuilt at a early age! I'm just using it on the street no track in the near future 😂🌞
Yeah dude thanks for watching! 🤘🏻 I wish I could tell you more about the longevity but I have put very few miles on them since instal.
How do these compare to Tein flex z & would you recommend the FR SPEC for daily driving?
thanks for the review time to buy me a setup too
Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoy them 🤘🏻
i love that road!, go there to skii and have fun driving!
Such a fun spot!
Why pull the dampener pin after adjustment? Is this common protocol?
Dang, gave up on making videos? That’s sad man ☹️
Love the video are you still enjoying your Faction Fab coilovers?
Thanks for watching man! I haven’t put many miles on them because it’s been winter here.
Would you recommend the FR-Spec on daily? I just want the camber adjustment instead of using camber bolts.
I agree camber adjustable top hats are the way to go. Personally I don’t think the fr spec are bad for a daily if adjusted well. However I haven’t tried the f spec to compare.
Thanks for watching!
No more videos ?
How do these compare to the extreme lows you were previously running ?
That’s a great question both provide a different ride quality and hit a different price point. The build quality is higher on the bc coilovers but the price is also higher.
I got the f spec it's pretty good for the money for my daily
Yeah that’s what I’m saying they seem like a pretty good cost effective option!
Yeah haha i was going to get foretune but didn’t want to blow a hole in the wallet. Ended up getting a tomei exhaust right after 😂 hole 🕳 was still achieved lol
Ha ha ha 😂 tomei will always do that ...
What do you leave your dampening set at for daily driving?
So I don’t daily the car but in the streets a middle setting handles well and is comfortable.
Bro. Do you recommend for road race?, Your car it's asewome!!
Thank you! I believe they are a suitable budget track coilover.
hey I installed them in my 19 wrx and idk of I did it right as I think I hear clunky sounds upon first drive of the day or am parking 🤔🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Sounds like somethings loose…
@@Supertuner yeah am gonna take them all off and check them
Did you adjust the preload ? If you don’t you will hear a clunking sound or if the second ring is not tight. Also watch out for the dust shields on the rotors. It’s weird, if the are a little bent when turning or hitting small bumps it clunks.
@@TrojanLube69 I'm gonna take a closer look at it,been parked since as im away.
can you tighten the pre-load without taking off wheels ?
either way am a going to put it on 4 Jack's and take wheels off to get adjustment properly so will see in a few days
@@deanthakid9803 it should be with the wheels off to give your room to adjust. It’s easier outside the vehicle but in any case here is the instructions/overview from FactionFab : ua-cam.com/video/4BNt36sNOTU/v-deo.html
Im thinking of getting these for my sti how have they been so far?
What’s up man! I have not put a lot of miles on mine. First few drives have felt great🤙🏻
Ugh... I literally have a set of struts coming from RSD tomorrow because both the Whiteline and Feal coilovers I have tried on my GD were/are miserable to DD. Now I am torn... do I drive back up to RSD to return the struts unopened and give these coilovers a try? I just can't allow myself to believe that even on a soft setting these aren't bouncy or harsh, because so far nothing I have tried has been comfortable... I want to believe.. I really do. O_o
This is a really good comment. What struts and springs did you get? And do you want ride height adjustability?
Because if you don’t care to adjust the ride height, camber and you ultimately want just a comfortable ride quality struts and springs should suit you.
They are the Tein EnduraPro Plus struts. Basically the same as the adjustable KYBs. I have an old set of the Prodrive blue springs as well as some Tein H. Techs. Both are very comfortable and offer an ok height drop. But I switched to coilovers because I was desperate for height adjustability... so I got a good deal on some Whiteline MAXGs and drove with those for a while. But I found them pretty uncomfortable even on the softer settings. So then I ordered some Feal 441 Max Travels. They are pretty good, but there is something seriously wrong with the rear dampers and even after sending them back to Feal they are having major issues. So I had abandoned all hope and decided to go back to struts/springs. ...and then you posted this vid. Now I want to give coilovers one more chance.
I am in the Sandy/Draper area... it would be crazy cool if we could meet up. I would absolutely love to be a passenger in your amazing car and compare build notes. I'm also obsessed with the S7/S8s.. changed my profile pic so you can see what mine looks like. Thanks for your awesome channel brother!
I see! I used to have kyb agx with eibach springs and they where amazing! Keep in mind I have not driven these coilovers a ton but I think they are pretty comfortable on a soft setting. I’d be happy to take you for a ride if there’s a time or meet or something! Ps you can always dm me on ig and we could link up. Shoot me a pic of your car there id like to see it cause I missed it in the profile pic. 🤙🏻
Tony Morrill oh dude yes! Your car looks so dope! Prodrive bumper? I wanna check it out for sure!
I'm not going to lie, I saw the thumbnail and I thought "sweet lightsaber!"
Ha ha ha I’d prob get more views if I titled it something to do with Star Wars 😂
How comfortable are these for daily driving?
Pretty dang good!
Would you say these are ass good as the bc? Trying to decide between the 2. More for daily and comfortably
Well that’s hard to compare because the BC coil overs I have are quite a bit more expensive so they are not really comparable.
@@Supertuner okay thanks! I think im gonna get some and if i dont like them just get bc or air i guess. While i have you here though can i ask what intercooler u have? I want to do the same style on a forester but most seem to big
Cool cool hope you like them. I have a generic core from mishimoto and I built the rest to mount and fit
@@frostedflinks Did you end up with these over the FR's?? Any thoughts? What are you running now?
@@Supertuner How do they feel all this time later??
How's the coilovers holding up?
Good so far! Have put very few miles on them over the past year though.
Where's your coolant tank? turbo is running off only oil?
Not all turbos use water to cool the center cartridge. This turbo is oil cooled and lubricated at the same time. However removing your coolant expansion tank like I did can make it really hard to get air bubbles out of the coolant system.
@@Supertuner that's why I ask because I like the look of it deleted but I have a vf48 so I'll keep it for now 😁
Yes you will want to keep it! It is a cleaner lol without but honestly not really worth it in my opinion.
Ps vf turbos are so good. OEM quality is nice!
Hey man are you gonna start uploading again soon?
Yoooo! In the process of moving :) hoping to upload soon but it will be a wait 🙏🏻
@@Supertuner Alrighty man hope ur all good.
@@Supertuner any update?
What’s the best setting???
Depends if you’re driving on road or track etc
so would you still recommend these? I'm thinking about buying a set of these but I'm still undecided.
Just bought for my STI 21’ I’m installing them in a couple days I’ll come back and let you know
Just remind me
@@BrUc3Lee1121 Have you installed? If so, how do they handle?
@@eightsnaps8813 haven’t yet! I should have it done by Tuesday. Sorry for the delay, I have my car in the shop getting bolts on installed and after I get it back, I’ll install the springs 🙏 setting a reminder for you
@@eightsnaps8813 update: the shop building my car is taking another 2 weeks time. Sorry for the delay but will update once I have everything installed and running.
Nice haircut.
Yo bro you went ghost
😢 school, moving and work life has me. Gotta make some changes around here. But it’s not over, will make some content with the WRX again soon!
It all sounds like good problems to me brother. Stay up man you’re definitely one of the radest Subaru dudes on the tube ✌️
Whats spring rates do they have?
10k front 8k rear
@@Supertuner thanks mate I've got 8k front 6k rear on my hawk sti after watching your review i have decided to change them to 10k front 8k rear im Looking forward to trying them out
Good luck! Lmk how it feels🤙🏻
This car just wants to go when you barely get into it!! let'er eattttt
Need moar rev limiter ey! 🤘🏻
You’ve gotta drive it next time we get together! Yours will be faster by then 😂
Hahahaha I've driven my sti on that road 8 years ago.
So fun huh
Cut the hair for new season 😱🤣
