    Honestly this brought tears to my eyes I use to make this with my grandmother before she returned for the last time to the village in Cambodia it brought back many good memories. People I didn't know coming over the house to eat calling everyone aunt and uncle even though I had no idea who they were. Playing tag in the neighborhood and running into random people's houses and hiding behind their sofa then I'd hear them ask me if I wanted to eat in Cambodian many many good memories. I'd give anything to have that back again. The community was strong then we grew up.

      Rick and Morty if you haven’t been able to find the link, it’s in her description box. You can also find this lemon grass mixture at Cambodian supermarkets normally in the vegetable isles.

    Bong srey I love your video and I appreciate that you speaking both language, super helpful. Anyway, how do you make your lemongrass. I'm very new to Khmer cooking and I want to be really good like my mom but I'm not that good at all

      HAIR OBSESSION thank you Oun. I really appreciate your comment and I am glad my video are useful and helpful to others. As for the lemongrass paste, I honestly have not try to make it myself because it was easier for me to use my mom since she makes big batches at a time. One day I should learn as this is very useful and important in Khmer cooking. One day ehhee

    What kind of beef

    • @Xero2hundred
      @Xero2hundred 3 роки тому

      Typically use chuck or flank, or if you can find steak skirt that would be good, but any beef would work too.

    • @KhatiyaKorner
      @KhatiyaKorner  7 років тому +1

      It's actually a seasoning. It contains chicken flavoring as well as other spices.

    How many cups of the lemongrass paste does one bag have on your store?

    • @KhatiyaKorner
      @KhatiyaKorner  5 років тому

      It is sold by weight not by volume and each bag weigh 1 pound.

    What kind of beef you used?

    • @KhatiyaKorner
      @KhatiyaKorner  8 років тому +2

      I don't recall. I tend to just look for the cut that has a bit of fat but I also look for the label that has the word "eye" or "steak" describing the cut. Hope that helps.

      Hi, it looks like it's chuck steak that you're using. I used chuck steak too and the meat is pretty tender after the marinade. Thanks for sharing your recipe. It's a good version of Cambodian beef stick recipe.

    What cut of beef is it?

    • @KhatiyaKorner
      @KhatiyaKorner  5 років тому

      I forgot already. I usually just pick up the one which has some fat in them. All meat makes the meat dry. Include some fat and just don’t eat it, but helps during the grilling not to dry out the meat.
