    Nice video sir.
    I recently developed interest in discus throw.
    The highest on my first ever attempt was 20.32 m in school.
    How could i increase my strength , body mass and throwing distance?

      Regular lifting throwing will get your stronger and throwing farther. At least 2 times a week for each 👍

    From the other videos it would also seem that snatch and push press (jerk) are very important.

      Eat right bench and squat every other day and have good hips so yoga helps and practice slow for good form and walk through what you can improve but be sure to be fast when throwing to optimize speed and spin

    im actually quite surprised that bench press actually helps, i feel that bench press helps more for pushing type movements, but hey, it looks like you know what you are doing, so i guess i will go hard with the bench as well

    • @johnbowmandiscus
      @johnbowmandiscus  4 роки тому +2

      Yes, the bench press is vital. Although the throw is mostly completed with the legs, hips, and torso, the stronger your bench press is the farther you'll throws 👍

    No wonder you had sore knees. From what I can see at least your knees went over your toes in your squats

      There was a study done where people put their knees over their toes in squats and it actually reduced the amount of torque and stress on their hips SIGNIFICANTLY. When knees weren’t over their toes, the stress in their knees was only a little more compared to knees over toes.
