In terms of lore, Nezarec is an *old* name. There’s a helmet called Nezarec’s Sin back from Destiny 2’s launch. Drifter name-drops the Fourth Tomb of Nezarec in a lore entry from Forsaken. In Season of the Haunted, a glaive called Nezarec’s Whisper was introduced, which implicates him as a Disciple of the Witness: “‘RISE, DISCIPLE, AND BEAR THIS GIFT WITH PRIDE.’ -RHULK, DISCIPLE OF THE WITNESS” And if you want an ominous topper, read the lore tab from Delicate Tomb, the exotic for Season of the Plunder.
Random non-scary fact: the Spider is canonically in possession of Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night.

Nezerac really is an old name, i don't wanne spoil stuff for later content but Nezerac is a being that's been around for ages and is described to be one of the first beings to wield void energy
He also was a being worshipped by the Psions, he was one of their God's and shapped their culture before the Cabal conquered them
Eido is one of my favorite characters. Not only is she sweet but she has provided a whole lot of insight (lore) over the past year or so. She definitely has earned the title of Scribe. Not only for House Light but for humanity as well.

Throughout Beyond Light, when Savathûn was wearing Osiris and Saint noticed a distance growing between them, multiple lore entries ended with phrases like "that would have to be enough," or "he hoped it would be enough." But now, finally, it _was_ enough.

To the issue with Eido and Misraaks: I am a german, history is a big thing here. We know what happened and learned to not make this mistake again. But you can only use it as a catalyst for change when it is being teached. Without it people will fall into the same trap again, since they never knew how easy that is
Also Eramis didn't just "jump in". She was just using the open channels like we were and when talking to Eido, Eido was the one to start adressing her, she just answered

Fun fact: Nezarecs' whole body was taken apart except for the head. Absolutely no one dared to even look at it, let alone touch it, being too scared. Then it was yoinked by the Witness and put into farting crystal on his ship.
Except *one* guy who was ballsy enough to snatch one of his eyes.
Plunder was such a needed break from the season of trauma, without derailing from the narrative. Knew you’d be overjoyed with the ending scene!
Ah and next up is probably my second favorite season after splicer, for many multiple narrative twists. Buckle up for a wild ride and lots of converging character stories
So some context that isn't explained but it is in lore. Eramis is actually a mother. She was the lover of Athrys, the one behind the namesake hunter exotic Athrys' Embrace released in Beyond Light (the lore tab is a really beautiful lullaby). Both had many hatchlings during moments before the Whirlwind on Riis, after which they began sailing the cosmos fleeing the Darkness; Eramis chose to part ways with Athrys and their hatchlings in order to give her family a fighting chance by giving them a majority stake in the ether supply they had all the while fighting for their liberation and solace. Eramis' goal in making Riis Reborn on Europa was her ideal, a new home for all the Fallen and Eliksni (the differentiation being the diasporic Eliksni outside of Sol vs the combatitive raiders we know in Sol). The reason why Eramis is so compelling is that she actually IS in the right, but is meaning to reach the ends with the most corrupted of means. When she formed the House Salvation banner, she was truly trying to rebuild a new home under Darkness because the Light of the Traveler did betray them. In every regard, she is right for feeling the way she does. Everything she does is in service of a family she can never see in hopes that one day she will be able to lay down the sword and return to their embrace. So when given the opportunity to continue the fight, rather than question the means and ends of the Witness, she will take any opportunity to see that her family will survive the coming Final Shape for she knows not where her family lies in the vast cosmos and would rather gamble with the fact that the Witness would incorporate the Eliksni into the world it seeks to create rather than let the Witness snuff the Eliksni out.
If you have the Truth exotic rocket launcher, you can read the moment Misraaks finds Eido, the last part is so precious, "She crawls into his palm and his heart surges." Fun fact. Misraaks was a vandal then fun fact 2: Eido is named after Sjur Eido First Queen´s wrath, Mara Sov Lover and Misraaks friend.
Funny enough Eramis was released by the witness yes. But not apparently before he intimidated and basically tortured her into joining him
A nice fun fact for you, Terra: The entire 2 billion donations to the Eliksni quarter took ~24 hours after it was added due to a glitch the playerbase collectively exploited to get the goals faster.
Its actually a fan canon cuz ALOT of ppl were disappointed in the "Improvements" to the Ellenski Quarter that ppl came up with the the thought that since he was in charge of it Spider just stole a HUGE junk of it and just has a mansion filled with gold hidden away somewhere XD I like it cuz im like "....you know what? he would."

Aight, some extra notes for you:
1. Misraaks, Spider and Siviks (we killed him during Black Armory) were "brothers", and in the cinematic, Misraaks kicked them off the ketch after getting influenced by darkness
2. Nezarec is an old name, and yes first mentioned in the Warlock exotic helm. During Haunted theres a glaive called Nezarec's Whisper. During Plunder, the season pass exotic is Delicate Tomb, which allegedly also contains a relic of Nez
3. Spider runs an underground betting business during the Guardian Games.
4. Osiris woke up after a cup of NezCafe.
5. You're gonna love the season that comes after. It's the grand finale of the year of WQ and the hype for Lightfall was absolutely insane
6. Eido is named after Sjur Eido, herself a legendary Awoken hero. The first Queen's Wrath before Petra. Mara's lover. Killed 2 Ahamkara during the great hunt. Original owner of the Wish Ender bow. Shaxx's friend, and he made the Recluse SMG in her honor.

If you dont already, I recommend reading some of the item lore on the Ishtar Collective for the seasons. Lots of good stuff there. For example, Saint and Shaxx went to the Eliksni bar all geared up for a fight, and what they ended up doing was playing a game with Saints Arc light. Funny read all things considered.

there will be extra dialouge (a few of them are missable) in the area called 'hall of heroes'
i think what i love most about the most recent seasons of Destiny is they went from fighting these monsters and aliens from other worlds, who's only goal seemed to destroy us, and we only destroy them; but starting to see them more as a people, like us. The Eliksni, the Cabal, even the Hive. These were a prosperous and intelligent people, just like humanity. And where we once only saw enemies to kill, we now see friends and families. We start to understand that not everyone we meet are enemies, just lost. And i hope we continue to see the bonds of these other races grow stronger with us.
The seasons for the Witch Queen expansion are all bangers, giving us such refreshing and interesting views on familiar characters. Risen let Crow explore his morals, while Saladin revealed the dark corners of his heart. Haunted gave Crow, Zavala, and Caitl some much needed therapy and closure from some very old wounds (Eris is perfect and must be protected at all costs. Remember her wisdom, its important for later), and now the Plunder gives Eramis and Eido some delightful growth. Once again, you've completely turned around in your opinion on a character, and that really speaks to how amazing the writers at Bungie are when allowed to shine. Lightfall's season's continue the trend, only slightly overshadowed by a weaker main Story expansion and some meta troubles.
I remember Plunder fondly, even if the community sneers at the repetative activity, or the underwhelming donation mechanic. Some of my favorite gear came from this season, and I thought doing a sci-fi pirate story was the kind of goofy fun we shouldn't shy away from (especially after the tear fest that was Season of the Haunted). Looking forward to Season of the Seraph, where the gloves come off, an old villian shows his true colors, an old friend becomes an honorary guardian, the Traveler rises, and Light falls.
Oh man, you should have been there when the NezTea (tm) thing was revealed. The community was so utterly disappointed, haha.
I would have loved to see if they do anything with the remains of Nezzie that was creepier than this, but I was just so happy to have Osiris back!
Imo Nezarec has the most aura in destiny, maybe second to the witness.
He is the one who led the forces of the 1st collapse, he is the darkest hour, he is pain, he is torment, he is nezarec.
One look at him and you're driven mad from nightmares. As long as living things exist nezarec will never die.
And in the RoN raid he handily outscaled rhulk, oryx, savathun, xivu arath and every bad guy apart from the witness.
Plus his voice is dope, maybe even more than rhulk's
Seeing the generous donations by the guardians to improve the Eliksni Quarter and seeing the improvements themselves makes me so happy.

"I'm gonna cry". Man, I started crying the momento the cutscene started. A friend spoiled me that there was a kiss and the momento I heard Saint's voice, I lost it. Amazing finale.
Spider was fleeing from the awoken. Paid drifter to get him off world. Casue Mara was literally coming for his head after his treatment of crow and glint
That final cutscene with Saint-14 and Osiris was what made it all worth it in the end.

48:28 I believe an article came around this time when Bungie answered what's goin on with the Vex & their absence, essentially since they can't simulate Paracausality(Space Magic/Light & Dark) they are essentially powerless to those that weild them, so they don't want to interfere in a conflict with 2 God's who weild them battling it out (Traveler & Witness), so they're basically waiting for the big stuff to pass
Misraaks and Spider (Rakis) are adopted brothers. Also Siviks, the guy who tried to steal all the Black Armory stuff back in the day. Misraaks used to get beat up and his ether rations stolen. But Rakis and Siviks were bigger and beat up the thieves and returned it to Misraaks. Their falling out was a disagreement in their pirate days, which ultimately resulted in Misraaks abandoning Rakis. Something he has not forgiven him for.
Eramis and Variks are to my knowledge the only still living Eliksni who can remember Riis. Things are kind of framed differently for them. Variks had hoped that Eramis would change back to how she was when he knew her and would rebuild a new Riis for the Eliksni when he let her out of the Prison of Elders. But the long drift through space had hardened her beyond recognition and the corruption of the Witness found fertile soil in her mind. She's ruthless and deluded but still believes her sacrifices are for the best for her people's future as dark as it may be. But even she still has shreds of her former life in the Eliksni golden age and ultimately follows the Witness out of fear more so than the great resentment she holds for the Traveler. The Witness and its power petrifies her with fear. It offered her a gift, the Scorn-i-fied body of one of her comrades. And she wonders in silent terror if any of who once was remained behind the glazed eyes... and it bit her.
So...Osiris is now basically a Snow white

oh man I can't wait for the next video because its one of my favorite seasons which also broke my heart
From what I remember, it’s less that the Witness promised Eramis something and more a case of “join me or die”, though it was likely more an eternity of being frozen and conscious instead. The Witness is so vastly more powerful she felt she had no choice. I think she took the Witness up on its offer because it also gave her a second chance to save her people and get vengeance on the Traveler and the City.
And I think that you are going to LOVE the next season. It really ends the WQ era on a banger.
Oh in lightfall you can hear nezarec if you have exotics or weapons equipped that are related to him. It's cool

I was just wondering if you were gonna drop a new video. Lo and behold, you did.
So glad you liked Plunder, theres a good chunk to like about with the character, the prirate motif and all that. But holy hell Plunder was ROUGH on the community, for a number of reasons, the story was slow (it flows better watching it like this), the gameplay was ok at best and a few other things. It sucks cause it is an alright season but its like a massive hole in an otherwise perfect year with witch queen and all the other seasons firing on all cylinders at all times. Never the less cant wait for Seraph, I have a feeling that one is gonna shoot up to your favorite very quickly.
Also question about the series, since you are almost to lightfall, and all its content is still here for now. Are you planning to play lightfall and all its seasons, or just lightfall itself? Since we are under 3 weeks till Final shape. And on that note, maybe you should make the final shape trailers the "epilogue" to this series, unless you wanna go in totally blind
I know we’re not at that point yet, but in season of the witch, there’s a bit of activity completion dialogue that can randomly be played that elaborates on what *exactly* the final shape is. I don’t think it’s explicitly stated anywhere else In dialogue and there’s a chance you might not see it when you play through Witch, so I’ll paraphrase it here to avoid spoiling some of that season while getting the point across:
The final shape means something different for everyone (a lore tab in witch Queen (i think) elaborates that not even the disciples could agree on what it was and often fought over it). For the hive, the final shape is the conclusion of the sword logic: the strongest being, accomplished through might, deception or otherwise. For the witness, however, it’s a stasis with everything in its ‘perfect’ state. Winning the game by turning the game off.
Not exactly total annihilation, but equally not much better
You bring up that Splicer was the last we heard of the Vex in a major way and that is STILL true. Personally I suspect a Vex or Vex adjacent being will become the big bad beyond the Witness, and they've had this idea for awhile and are just sitting on it while we deal with and wrap up the Light and Dark saga.
We had bite-size nuggets of Vex activity in the dungeon Spire of the Watcher released in Season of the Seraph and the Lightfall campaign, though. Other than that the Vex only had token appearances during Season of The Witch and Season of the Wish.

Nezarec was never the driving force actually, he was the product of circumstance. He was never supposed to be revived as that was an "accident" brought upon by the Traveler terraforming the pyramid. The Vex were always the driving force. When we caught wind of the Vex looking for something in the Spire of the Watcher, what we didn't know at the time was that they were searching for Soteria, the Augurmind, an AI fabrication made of the the core of one of the earliest Vex specimen obtained by the Ishtar Collective. It was Soteria who shipped off the remnants of humanity to Neptune to start a colony there... but also, what the Vex were searching for was the half of the core that remained in the tower and was then repurposed into Hierarchy of Needs. This half of the Augurmind is what they would have needed to break through to the Cloud Ark and obtain the Occlusion, the second half of Soteria. The reason why this is important is because The Occlusion is the key component of the the Cloud Ark that funnels all the energy from the Veil to form the collective consciousness that manifests as the Cloud Ark environment for the Neomuni to thrive. Because the Vex want to incorporate and assimilate all of creation under one consciousness, this was absolutely key for them to acquire the Occlusion. The Vex are able to locate The Occlusion and make a backdoor into the Cloud Ark that lets them merge the Vex Network into the system, thus letting them make advances on Neomuna. It is during these advances when we find Asher Mir pointing us elsewhere, giving us hints to what the ulterior motive of the Vex is.
Let's detour for a second:
Meanwhile, on the EDZ we find that Asher Mir has left us a sequence of Vex Network coordinates that let us open a volatile backdoor into the mission NODE OVERIDE AVALON. It was here where we found out that the Vex were close to recreating the Veil and were able to simulate its structure but not harness its energy. This was the fatal flaw that the Witness had in trusting the Sol Divisive in making the Heart of the Black Garden. The Witness thought that the Vex would be able to recreate the material form of the Veil, but ultimately it could not replace the original, which was hidden by Savathun and sealed away on Neptune.
Now let's run this back to Neomuna:
We later find out post campaign that the Cloudstriders were covering up their connection to the Vex AND that they had access to the Black Garden the entire time, as this was an area that was guarded unter Cloudstrider territory, but Rohan only looked deeper into it after his training with his mentor Tramontane. There he literally witnessed the Vex of the Sol Divisive forming the Black Heart but could not stop them alone and left. During this exploit, he also heard the voice of Maya Sundaresh, a voice long since dead from the creation of the Cloud Ark centuries prior, but could not figure out what she was prattling on about. It is post-Lightfall campaign where we started getting new dialog from Nezarec, SPECIFICALLY in the Cloud Ark-Vex Network integration environment where he begins to terrorize the city with his consciousness. He mentions that he likes it there because it is like a vast sea of infinite consciousnesses he can exploit because the Neomuni can't do anything about it (they can't leave the security of their isolation system during the assault on the city) and because it links him to the vast network of unincorporated Vex minds.
After completing the Neomuna questlines, we are rewared with the hint for Season of the Deep, directly from Soteria herself to find an ancient ally against the Witness, Ahsa. It is during this time we learn of the Witness and how it used the collective consciousness plan (potentially learned from the Vex) to merge into a singular being from the information we obtain with Osiris and Nimbus in the Veil Containment side quests. This is why, during Season of the Deep, we get logs for Maya Sundaresh and Chioma Esi talking about how the Cloud Ark project stemmed from Vex technology and the universal consciousness theory. She was only successful in making the Cloud Ark a reality once she figured out that Exo Minds, whose bodies were linked with the darkness as a result of Clovis' experiements with the Whispers and Clarity Control (probably Deepsight, as it stabilizes past memories), would dissipate into a collective consciousness nearly instantaneously. This led her to link every Exo Mind into a chorus of consciosness and was able to finish the project at the expense of her own body.
Whether you want to believe the Witness or not in the Unveiling lore book, they define the Vex as the primordial beings at the dawn of creation and time itself, even when The Witness has no reason to define them as such and no reason to lie about it either. The reason they have the most mastery and understanding of the material world is because they were there to be the first witnesses of its creation and the mechanics of how the world unfolded. They were never able to replicate the primordial forces of Darkness or the Light because they were simply products meant to the play the game. The Gardener, the one that the Witness reveres, dubbed them the Vex because the resultant outcome of the game always led to the Vex being the ones emerging into existence as the stagnant pattern of reality, thus the Gardener becoming literally "vexed" (irritated) by their persistence (the literal line in the lore card is "And in time the gardener became vexed"), hence their namsake as The Vex. The Gardener wanted the game to result in ever many realities with ever many forms of life and existence, but the Vex resisted that at every turn, hence, they became the "answer" in the Garden, as the game stopped going on with our current model of reality (the life forms and locations) being the only ones played out, even if it was just variations on the same model (timelines). The Winnower was pleased as the Vex served the purpose of truncated the growth of the infinite expanse of the creation. The Vex and their MO of assimilating all other worlds under their minds WAS the ultimate shape that the universe turned to, thus, the Witness would seek the path of the Winnower (the Veil), and in so doing, they brough the Veil to the Traveler but were refused by the Light in trying to enact the winnowing of the power of light's chaotic power of creation.

You HAVE to read the season of the haunted lore if you like the relationship between drifter and eris, it shows the development and how they really help each other
Also, in one of the lore cards from the man of the Golden gun, shin malphur spoke with the drifter and in that talk he mentioned the 4th tomb of nezarec that's why he had a relic

Man, honestly, Eramis is still among my favorite characters in this game.
She just has such a sad backstory that makes me feel...empathy. Eramis could've once been like Misraaks.
But things went down a different path. And even then, I don't really blame her.
Also, if you haven't, I'd recommend reading up on her and her lore entries about her wife and children.

I think that was only the second season I actually completed everything and not just the story, even got myself a solo flawless for the special mission. It's still my favorite.
Remember the guardian is us but isnt us. the guardian that killed her before is not the the same guardian who killed the witch queen or did the events of the seasons before. The player can create the story they wish their guardian to have.
If you think about the relationships in Destiny are really sad, especially Drifter and Eris and Saint and Osiris. Since both Osiris and Eris are lightless they'll eventually die from old age, leaving their respective partners alone.
About what was mentioned in the last cutscene with Saint, like I said on one of your videos. Listen to all of the Savathun's insights... the "two truths, two lies".

Nice to see you enjoying this season. A lot people had a very mixed response on it think it was fairly mid. I personally enjoyed it and seems you did too. Regardless season of the Seraph is next my personal FAVORITE. Wonder if you’ll love it as much as I did.

As for eremis. I wouldn’t say she’s a villian. She’s more of an antagonist.
Mithrax also helps us foil eremis plans in zero hour. She ordered someone to steal outbreak from the vaults. I’m guessing that’s where they got the inspiration for his backstory
I’m really curious on how you’ll feel about seasons when you have to do them weekly, it’s so much more enjoyable like this, but during the weekly waiting it was…tough… I don’t remember there being much love for the season during it, especially the eliksni repair, I think there was a bug that people used to get it done

I dont remember seeing Eido before Plunder. i remember her talking to us in the Season of the Splicer but never seeing her. Anyone know if theres a clip of her somewhere before the Splicer?
Around 13 minutes into my season of the splicer reaction (part 1), Destin stood in front of an eliksni holding babies while eido was talking, so I assumed that was meant to be Eido.
