Great Video! I'd love to get a dupe of May Lindstrom's Blue Cocoon Balm, I'd love to try it as i've heard it does wonders for Red/Inflamed skin but it's nearly $200
Thank you for this! You mentioned that red algae is difficult to source (I think), and it reminded me of a concern I have. I'm switching to cruelty-free products, but i want to know which products are also sustainable. For example, I'd love to try the Cosrx rice overnight mask, but i won't buy it since it has palm oil--very much non-sustainable. I may be missing that they're careful about sourcing, but that's just an example. With all the flower and leaf extracts, it's hard to determine which brands/products are also responsible about sourcing. Thanks!
Hi +Cassandra Bankson Have you seen very used gloskin products? I got a facial and they sold me some products. I'm very curious what your think and if there are any dupes?
Hi Cassandra! Could I use the Jin Jung Sung Essence after applying the Perricone MD Vitamin C Ester CCC + Ferulic Brightening Complex 20% ? Would love to understand better how I could layer these products. Thank you!
SK II is one of the products that my skin really loves. I get a lot of compliments on my skin everytime I use it. I hope they do make it cruelty free though. Thank you for suggesting other alternative products that are cruelty free and budget friendly as well. Happy New Year :)
I can attest to the Missha one, back in the days when animal cruelty wasn't against my values. Since finishing that one I didn't repurchase, so I'm glad to know of this Jin Jun Sung one. Will go look for it. Thanks Cass! ❤️
Augustinus bader is definitely worth it.l for overall health of the skin. But if u are looking for a targeted treatment then it’s better to look into skinceuticals

The Timeless VitC+E+Ferulic acid serum works perfectly for me. It also has the same liquidy texture, same hotdog water scent, but for a much better price.
My dog chased a duck not some algae-filled water, well, she fell in is more accurate, but her coat was so soft when she dried off, didn’t wash her for a week. Algae really rock. I’ve never felt a dog coat so soft. She had a 'rough coat' (by breed) and she felt as sleek as a cat. It was magical
The Cosrx has the Galactomyces ferment filtered and is more of a dupe for the SKII. The quality may not be the same, but it does work, it may take longer.... But the cost is $24.00 for 100mls.
I use the Cosrx one! It's nice and one pump goes a long way, but I feel like I'd have to use it over a period of years to see if the benefits are there.
I also use the Timeless Vitamin C! I've been using it for 11 days now. I use the 10% version, though, because i'm new to Vitamin C. I was very hesitant to use a Vitamin C serum at the time because it's expensive and oxidizes very easily. This one is still expensive, but this is the cheapest pure Vitamin C serum in the market, and i don't regret buying it at all. Such a good product!

Regarding the Dr. Perricone MD Vitamin C I've heard you mention a few times that it isn't any cheaper, but keep an eye out on the size of the bottle. The Perricone has 2 oz. vs. the 1 oz. regular serum size so comparing apples to apples size wise it ends up being about half the price even when not on sale. It was on sale at Costco at about 1/3 of the normal price a bit ago so I'm giving it a shot (though I know Costco is a bit grey market).

It’s weird, some Aussie skincare is amazing, but it seems like I’m order to make themselves (mostly smaller companies) stand out, Aussie brands leaned in to the clean/natural/green thing both very hard and very early. Just look at brands like Sukin. Which I do use, because their cleansers are amazing, and I do really like the scent personally. But it goes hard on the natural fallacies. Personally, my favourite antioxidant things (not serums specifically) are the HaruHaru Wonder antioxidant cream (and it also comes in a super cute little jar that looks like a coffee keep cup, and I can’t wait to use it to hold other stuff, I’m thinking pins), and the Some By Mi V10 cream. Though note with the V10 cream that it does have a bit of a white cast. That’s not an issue for pale me who wants to look paler, but it might be an issue for others. The only antioxidant serum I have is the Milano CC vitamin c serum, which is amazing. I will try the Timeless serum at some point, but it requires buying it on its own and shipping it into the country, and I tend to buy up big when I do my skincare purchases from overseas, because I don’t want to be paying shipping more than once!
I like Dr Roebucks facial masks, more exactly their Purifying Mask Australian Red Clay Australian White Clay Desert Harvest. It’s amazing and affordable. I also love some products by Sand&Sky; especially their pink clay mask and their enzyme polish powder. Those two are awesome. I’ve used these products for years and I really like them.
I am glad I did not know that Juice Beauty partnered with Gweneth Paltrow because I love Juice Beauty. That mask is the best. Happy Holidays Cassandra! ♥☮🌏🦋
Things like the C E Ferulic are so expensive in part because of the R&D and clinical testing that went into them to make them products that you can know, without a doubt, WILL five results. Retinol is another one that people overlook a lot of the time-the majority of retinol products on the market have ZERO active retinol in them by the time the consumer purchases it. Smaller brands are the culprit here (brands not under the corporate umbrella of L'Oreal, Amore Pacific, etc.). For instance, Neutrogena's Retinol SA has had amazing R&D and testing put into it and formulations with it, so you can know for sure: It will give results, it is stable in the product, it will give faster than ordinary retinol. Anyway, go for brands that have the resources to do the R&D and you'll have a better time, regardless of price (Neutrogena ≥ Generic Beauty Brand, Skinceuticals ≥ Timeless/whatever dupe).
I did a comparison with the SKII - and I bought the Galactomyces 95 Tone Balancing Essence by COSRX .... it's the same ingredient - Galactomyces 95 Ferment, the percentage is actually a little higher in the COSRX. It ended up costing like $20 - $25 Aussie Dollars. Also, man here in Aus - Kakadu plum is in eeeeverything. So many products when I walk into the pharmacy or in sephora/mecca come out and are trying to be the new big thing - and a huge amount of them have Kakadu plum. To the point where I've been frustrated like - I DONT WANT JUST THAT I WANT A STRAIGHT UP FORM OF VITAMIN C (because of kakuda plums amazing vitamin c content, it's used in the product and then the package obviously claims it has Vitamin C). ... And I did not mean to right a novel, my bad there.
I tried a lot of skincare brands and listened to what people say on youtube so I wanted to give their recommendations a try. A lot of products that are recommended by those dermatologists didn't have much effect on my face. And a few were really good. I started using Skii a few months ago, I would say this is one of the few essence that works really well for my skin. Some of the Cerave, Farmacy and Biossance products also work very well as well. I tried a lot of Korean skincare brands, unfortunately I didn't see much results. You have to try different products and see what works for your own skin type ☺
I LOVE that you reviewed Averr Aglow!!!! I have been using it for almost 2 years now and has been the only thing that has saved my skin. I have hormonal acne as a 37 year old and have had acne since I started puberty 🤦♀️ You should review their whole line of clear skin products. Always love your input and expertise.
Hadalabo Japan has products with hyaluronic acid of different molecular weight, and on top of that, they are mostly fragrance-free, free of artificial colours, and harmful dyes and preservatives. They are really affordable too!
Yes! I've been using the Shirojyun Light (with alpha arbutin), and it's a must-have staple of my routine. I was never big on hyaluronic acid since it's already in everything and it seemed unnecessary to use a stand-alone toner, but this little liquid just makes my skin seem immediately brighter, clearer, and healthier. THIS is the product that makes me glow more than any other product I use (except maybe azelaic acid).
@@kevinjanghj I think you may be thinking of the Premium. That is the one with tranexamic acid. Last time I checked, the basic Shirojyun I use has alpha arbutin and maybe some Vit C phosphate, no TA. I have used the Premium cream, and I'm kind of underwhelmed by it. Not too moisturizing, and doesn't seem to have an effect on brightness. I've used a TA serum in the past and didn't notice a difference, either, so maybe my skin just doesn't like it that much.
Hello! I was wondering if you could do a video of skincare for athletes. I run and my skin is being tortured by the winter air here in the northeast. On the same token, I’m looking for a sweat proof moisturizer with spf for the summer. Any sort of guidance would be wonderful!

Can you do a tatcha dupe video PLEASE!?! I use their essence and dewy skin cream everyday and have not been able to find good dupes for either. The dewy skin cream is so thick and moisturizing for my dry skin there’s just nothing else like it so I’d love some Korean skincare dupes ingredient wise and how it acts and feels. Same with the essence! Please please please!!! 💗💗💗
Hi Cassandra. Thank you for the informative video! If you use a Vitamin C Serum, SK-II Pitera and the PCA Hyaluronic Acid Boosting Serum in the morning, what order would you apply them in after cleansing?
Great video Cassandra! Can you review SkinMedica’s TNS Essential serum? Super expensive, but has kept my skin looking and feeling nourished through the years.
An expensive product I love is Sunday Riley’s good genes. I just tried a sample the other week and I like it a lot. I need to find a dupe that’s similar in hydration. It’s $85 for the regular size and idk if I want to save up for that… It worked so well, though!
Really? I never noticed it doing anything for me. I prefer using a Bha like salicylic acid. Of if I’m gonna use an aha I prefer glycolic. Lactic is good for sensitive skin though or older skin.
So I was actually gifted the Skinceuticals C E Ferulic for christmas, and of course I'm gonna use it and I am excited to see if the price is worth it or not... buuut once I'm done with the bottle, I will probably switch to a cruelty free version, unfortunately Perricone MD's one has fragrance components my skin doesn't tolerate well so I'll have to look for another one if vitamin C works for my skin.
I’ve noticed that most people who use Skinceutical products don’t understand which vitamin C serum to choose. Vitamin C is highly susceptible to oxidation, rendering it ineffective on the skin. That’s why Skinceutical holds patents to prevent others from copying their products. This is the most crucial aspect that people often misunderstand about vitamin C serums. If you have acne-prone or oily skin, always opt for a 10% vitamin C serum. It’s less likely to irritate your skin and won’t cause a burning sensation. However, if your skin is dry or normal, you can use a 15-20% serum. I’ve seen many people with oily skin choose a 15-20% serum, which is incorrect because it can lead to dryness, peeling, or flaking. To prevent wrinkles, follow these simple steps: - In the morning, apply vitamin C serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen. - At night, use retinol and moisturizer. Remember, exercise and adequate sleep (7-8 hours daily) are essential for maintaining beautiful skin. However, I don’t recommend asking me about my skincare products i am using because I don’t have anyone who can match my skin’s natural beauty.
I didn't get this SKI II thibg at all!! It done nothing to my skin...like at all. Same aa Sunday Riley and other expensive and very hyped skincare. Now Drunk Elephant C serum makes me break out like crazy, which didn't happen to me last 16 years...now I really don't see the point in buying expensive skincare 😐
Can you please do a video where you talk about wild mint cosmetics! I really like their skincare. They are vegan and cruelty free, I just want your opinion on them, about the ingredients and stuff😇
Cassandra. There is this ad that airs on your videos of this beautiful person using these new Clean and Clear products that I can tell are supposed to target Skintellectuals. I’d love to hear your feedback on them. (Maybe they aren’t new and maybe I’ve missed it. I believe there’s an Aloe Vera cleanser involved).
The Perricone MD is a fav of mine too. It’s pricey but I’ve found good deals even cheaper than $130. My only complaint is how it spreads. Feels similar to using a dry oil which means I normally need more pumps than my other serums to cover my face and neck.
I think it really boils down to 8 to 13 core companies in this entire world lol. Seems like everything can track back to a HUGE company some way or another. Okay, I'm exaggerating, but it just seems like if you really peeled all the layers back we would be shocked to see how few companies own everything! lol. Merry Christmas ..
Hey Cassandra, Aussie over here 👋 I'm using a sunscreen from New Day skin (Aussie brand) which contains Kakadu plum. I would love to see a review video of Australian made products.
If you like Pure Am , you should check Beplain skincare line. They literally have same packaging and similar ingredients. I wonder if they got same manufacturer
I'm wondering what are your thoughts on the Cosmetic Skin Solutions Supreme Serum CE. I just purchased it, as it looked similar to the Skinceuticals one. Also, the 2oz Perricone is now on sale for $75 on their website! Thanks for the video! Helpful as always.
Hi. I've been convinced by your videos and other reviews to try new products for my oily skin and I noticed that it's getting oilier after one week of use. Should I drop and conclude that they are for me or wait for my skin to get used to it? I'm using a cerave gel cleanser, the ordinary niacinamide, origins ginzing gel moisturiser, neutrogena exfoliac spf and twice a week the ordinary lactic acid 10%. I just ordered the ordinary peeling and cetaphil oil control foam wash. I'm 35, I have brown skin, I got blackheads on my noise, my pores are slightly dilated and I also have some acné scars. Can someone recommend me others products if changes are needed?
Can you please have a video about estee lauder advanced night repair serum I really really like it but I don’t want to spend so much money on it, I know Missha has serum as well, but i want to know your thoughts on it! I know it’s not cruelty free as well but please have a video! 😭🙏🏼 thank you for educating us!
"Overly moisturizing" - bring it on for my dry, aging, many years post Accutane skin! It's almost impossible for anything to be too moisturizing for my skin except possibly in July and August! ( I live in the Northern Hemisphere.) Aquaphor is my skincare friend.
Hi Cassandra ! I always check out the list of ingredients on the packiging and quite often my jaw drops when a luxurious skincare product is mostly produced with chemical ingredients and a star ingredient ( ex: hyaluroinc acid , collagen, Argan oil, caviar ( yes its extract ) is at the bottom of this list so its % is really insignificant . Greetings from Paris
Great video. I got at least one solid recommendation and ordered already. Your hair looks so pretty in soft waves, different from your curls which must be your natural hair? Merry Christmas to you and your family
Do you know the origin of “snake oil”? If not, let me tell you! Back in the day when Asian-North American immigrants were forced to constantly do hard labour if they wanted to have an income, they would use oil from a special Watersnake in in China to soothe their sore muscles. The people “employing” them noticed this and asked what it was. In those days, the average Caucasian thought all snakes were the same. Therefore, they took poor and simple rattlesnakes along with other snakes native to North America, gutted them, and sold their blended organs as “snake oil”. Buyers noticed that the product did nothing but make them smell of rotting carnivore and therefore rote it off as a scam. This, is the story of “snake oil”.

That's why I only listen to Dr. Dray. Lol.
I'd be intrigued to hear your thoughts on SkinBetter and Is Clinical. Skinbetter is crazy expensive, but holy crap it does wonders.
It’s not about ingredients, it’s about quality. The SKII is incomparable quality, but the dupes are alright
Hi 👋 Stephani, can I talk to you for a moment?
@@sluttymctits4496 it has tranexamic acid, on top of the alpha-arbutin and vitamin C derivative to help lighten dark spots.
@@sluttymctits4496 as it appears, topical application of tranexamic acid does not work as well as injection......
Best science based skyncare channel on UA-cam! This said from a scientist! ☺️
Really feeling the Aussie love. Thanks Cass!! 💚💛🇦🇺
Could you do a video on Shea moisture African Black soap products?
yoooo you look so good this video!!!
Hello! I was wondering if you could do a video of skincare for athletes. I run and my skin is being tortured by the winter air here in the northeast. On the same token, I’m looking for a sweat proof moisturizer with spf for the summer. Any sort of guidance would be wonderful!
That Juice Beauty Pore Refining Mask is my fav! 🥰
I love you Cassandra!!!
You are awesome Cassandra! 🇦🇺Hi from Sydney🤗
Loved seeing this on my feed, about to watch this over breakfast. Happy Christmas 🎄 it’s so close. Be well and stay healthy and I hope happy. Love your channel.
Hi 👋 Friend, can I talk to you for a moment?
Me or the channel?
YOUR SKIN LOOKS SO GOOD AND FRESH
Maelove glowmaker also a good dupe for the skinceuticals
Can you do a tatcha dupe video PLEASE!?! I use their essence and dewy skin cream everyday and have not been able to find good dupes for either. The dewy skin cream is so thick and moisturizing for my dry skin there’s just nothing else like it so I’d love some Korean skincare dupes ingredient wise and how it acts and feels. Same with the essence! Please please please!!! 💗💗💗
You make the BEST skincare videos on UA-cam. Omg so informative! Thank you Cassandra!
You should definitely review Skyn Iceland !! It's been saving my skin. it's expensive, but to me it's worth it.
They literally make the only eye patches that have ever worked for me.
I met the CEO of Pure’AM at the Allure Mag event store on Layette St. Soho NYC and love love the cream too.
Could you review the ZO Skin Health line?
To prevent wrinkles, follow these simple steps:
- In the morning, apply vitamin C serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen.
- At night, use retinol and moisturizer.
Remember, exercise and adequate sleep (7-8 hours daily) are essential for maintaining beautiful skin. However, I don’t recommend asking me about my skincare products i am using because I don’t have anyone who can match my skin’s natural beauty.
omg im so keen for the australian skincare video!!!
This is a very good review. Thanks sis
I would love a video about Biologigue Recherche dupes 👀
for me SK II is best for my skin and i love it the results 😉🥰
Love you, Cassie! I can always count on you when I get home from work!
You’re so real….I subbed
I didn't get this SKI II thibg at all!! It done nothing to my skin...like at all. Same aa Sunday Riley and other expensive and very hyped skincare. Now Drunk Elephant C serum makes me break out like crazy, which didn't happen to me last 16 years...now I really don't see the point in buying expensive skincare 😐
Can’t wait for the skinceuticals dupe video! Would love to hear your recommendations to replace the b5 hydrating gel.
Hi 👋 Sabrina, can I talk to you for a moment?
Can you please do a video where you talk about wild mint cosmetics! I really like their skincare. They are vegan and cruelty free, I just want your opinion on them, about the ingredients and stuff😇
Cassandra. There is this ad that airs on your videos of this beautiful person using these new Clean and Clear products that I can tell are supposed to target Skintellectuals. I’d love to hear your feedback on them. (Maybe they aren’t new and maybe I’ve missed it. I believe there’s an Aloe Vera cleanser involved).
everyone gangster until the celebrity whips out the la mer moisturiser
The Perricone MD is a fav of mine too. It’s pricey but I’ve found good deals even cheaper than $130. My only complaint is how it spreads. Feels similar to using a dry oil which means I normally need more pumps than my other serums to cover my face and neck.
I have tried many dups, but none of them works well like SK II 😊
The SKII is available on boxycharm for like $20
Angie of Hot and Flashy has an awesome video on vitamin c!
I'd like to find a similar to Sylimarin CF, also from Skinceuticals. I tryed a sample and it worked so nice on my skin... 🥺
I would very much like an Estée Lauder dupes video 💕
Me too!! I would love a dupe for the night repair serum
@@lilnikki3233 yes! Definitely in the most sought after dupes from EL
Augustinus Bader The Cream review, please! If there is close swap, I would be interested in learning about it.
Has anyone ever counted up how many skincare brands there are - I don’t know how they all survive? 😂😂
ikr? It is crazy it seems everyone and their uncle has a skincare line out there.
@@cherylreitz4779 LOL!
Hi 👋 Heather, can I talk to you for a moment?
I'm an esthetician using Face Reality. Can you please review this line?!!!
Your hair frames your face nicely in this video ;) 😉
The hate you have for Goop is so funny and relatable to me 🤣🤣🤣
Love you and your videos! Merry Christmas 🎄
Hey Cassandra,
Aussie over here 👋 I'm using a sunscreen from New Day skin (Aussie brand) which contains Kakadu plum. I would love to see a review video of Australian made products.
I'm am looking at these for sure.
SK is my holy grail!
If you like Pure Am , you should check Beplain skincare line. They literally have same packaging and similar ingredients. I wonder if they got same manufacturer
Does anyone know if Cassandra has made a video on skin care without niacinamide? Very much would appreciate if anyone knows.
Can you do one of this amazing videos for Biologique Recherche?
Please if you’re able please do Augustinus Bader cos they are starting to hypnotise me! Thank you for another excellent video 🙏🏻👍🏻💕🇦🇺🦋
Hi, and what about the Vitamin C, E and Ferulic Serum of Drmtlgy ????, 🙋♂️🙋♂️🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪
Funny I just bought the skin ceuticals and love the smell... not of hotdogs though... but soft sweet. Maybe they adjusted.
Cassie, you know where can i go to find clear info about treatments of psoriasis?
Could you talk about after shaving care to prevent bumps?
Can you please have a video about estee lauder advanced night repair serum I really really like it but I don’t want to spend so much money on it, I know Missha has serum as well, but i want to know your thoughts on it! I know it’s not cruelty free as well but please have a video! 😭🙏🏼 thank you for educating us!
"Overly moisturizing" - bring it on for my dry, aging, many years post Accutane skin! It's almost impossible for anything to be too moisturizing for my skin except possibly in July and August! ( I live in the Northern Hemisphere.) Aquaphor is my skincare friend.
What do you think about Vitamin C treatments on a Cyclopentasiloxane base? Is this a safe ingredient for the skin?
That first HA serum sounds a lot like the Purito Unscented serum.
Excuse me while I go barf... thanks for the lovely images now in my head. May your holidays be everything you deserve!
Please do a May Lindstrom vid, is it worth all the hype and money?!
Love the: buy this nog that serie you make. Do you have ideas/thoughts or even dived in: Augustinus Bader skin/hair/body even make up?
Geek and gorgeous c glow is where it's at. Exactly like CE ferulic but costs only €10.50
Shhhh, don't tell anyone! Let's keep it low-key so TikTok doesn't ruin it. 🤫
Great content! ❤
