@@baileydubs Ah... an over-buyer sister! I know what you mean: I've got skincare to last me a full year... but I keep buying 😣. I have 2 unopened toners at the moment, plus the one I'm currently using (and applying as I type).
Honestly you saved my skin. I've been watching since lockdown when I first got interested in skin care. After my initial mistakes i've stuck with everything you've recommended and your advice hasn't failed me till now. Thank you so much.
Honestly I'm happy that someone is acknowledging that Estée Lauder's products actually *are* nice, but that they're obviously just at a higher price point. I've been using their micro essence for almost two years now, and honestly just that incorporating in my routine really changed my skin for the better. Does it have quite basic ingredients for a toner/essence? Absolutely it does. Could it have been cheaper? Very much so. But is it effective in what it *does* do? 100% !!! If I didnt have it, I wouldnt even be able to achieve a plump "glass skin" look. And the same with their eye cream (their normal one, not the "ultra complex mystery dna altering repair secret formula" one), it really does help quickly relieve some of the darkness under the eyes, and it feels quite nice and soothing to pat into the skin, whereas some other eye creams would make the sides of my eyes feel like burning a tiny bit (the side as in, where I'd put an eyeliner wing.. I often get red there due to.. well.. often wearing eyeliner). Their products are quite good andd stable for what they are, and theyre worth splurging on if you have the money, since the products also just look beautiful. But there most definitely will be a cheaper dupe that does close to the same if you dont have the money. I, however, will continue to "waste" money for their micro essence 😌
@@doramar8776 Found the container I owned ! Its called "Advanced Night Repair Eye" and I believe its just in a cylinder container, whereas the ~supercharged complex~ version is in a square container with a cylinder screw cap. Hope that helps !!!
I changed my opinion about luxury skin care products. Before i always went for cerave and so on. The thing was always that even thier gentle cleanser will dry out my skin in several weeks of using. Also used a cheap hyaluronic acid, didn't give much of results. Then i tried Estée Lauder advanced night repair serum! It's a holy grail for my skin. Finishing my first bottle and i am super super happy with results. It even up my skin tone, skin became glowing, radiant and healthy looking. Even don't have much break outs. Also noticed how my checks lifted up! Also went for Paula's choice! Vitamin C, jojoba moisturizer and eye gel are AMAZING! of course, we are overpaying for Estée Lauder, but it's still a great product!
I used to use the Glow Recipe Avocado serum and I thought I loved it.... until over time it started stinging and actually making me red instead of taking away redness and I discovered there are citrus ingredients in it, that are fragrancing, and caused me to develop a sensitivity. So I duped it with the Cosrx Hyaluronic Acid 3 serum. It has ceramides, amino acids and hyaluronic acid. It is sooo soothing, and of course I got the recommendation from this channel as well 😅
Same! I used the avocado serum for about a year. At first, it got rid of my persistent chin eczema, but now it just makes it worse. I also have recently started using the CosRx HA3 serum, and I love it!
The RNW Ceramide Serum is amazing. The texture is quick absorbing. But it also has cholesterol, and fatty acids to really help with the moisture barrier
Thank you so much for the glow recipe dupe! I feel like I may have specifically requested this on this channel so I really appreciate it! Just spent a mint at the vet so this is here just in time!
Another great cleansing balm is the oat cleansing balm from inky list. Works great, it’s like $10, it’s in a squeeze tube so you don’t gotta stick your fingers in it, and it also doubles as a soothing mask!
I had big hopes about the Inkey List but it separates so much and I really didn't like that it's in a tube as you can never control how much goes out, especially with the crazy amounts of separation. Jars and tubs aren't unhygienic if you're applying them after you have washed your hands (which you should have done either ways).
I just have to say- I bought the I'm From Rice Toner, Neogen Snail Mucin Essence, Paula's Choice cleansing balm in a tube, dieux skin eye patches, and Experiment reusable face mask and a bunch of korean sunscreens recently and my skin has never felt more hydrated and lovely. 😍😍 I'm so glad I found your videos and tried out some new products and I can't wait to slowly add more to my routine (boring old cerave lol)

ok just a note for the cleansing balms...so the one from elf costs 11 euros for 50ml..and clinique has one jumbo package that is 200ml for 49 euros..but if you buy four of the elf ones you have a price difference of 4 euros for the same amount..so its not really cheaper
I used to be a big lover of Clinique, but to me they seem to have gone off the boil so to speak, over the last few years. If I can get a less expensive product that does the same job as one you need to take a second mortgage out on, I'm all for it. Thanks James 😊.

Products that work for James tend to be perfect for me….must be the British climatized skin! Glow recipe is my original true love but the price 😮….Cosrx…can’t go wrong, my skin loves it all 😍
Great dupes, but I just can't get myself to replace my Advanced Night Repair. I just love it and have been faithful to it for almost a decade now. I think I will try the COSRX essence though.

Hello, I just watched a short video on a “hack” to help vitamin c be more effective and wanted to know your opinion. The short video stated to use a centella asiatica serum with your L-ascorbic serum. This would “quadruple “ the efficacy of the vitamin c serum.
thank you so much!! ive been searching for the essence dupe. so excited to try. I spend a lot of money on the more crucial parts of my skincare, but I cant justify that price on just the essence itself since its more of an "extra fun" product for me!
Skll dupe is Misha and estee Lauder serum dupe is Misha also for me.. The time revolution series from Misha is an iconic series and they keep evolving which is even better...
Thank you so much for the cleansing balm and the Isntree serum! They both fit perfectly what I was on a lookout for recently, and what also is within my budget. So I'm super happy to learn about those
Shisheido ultamune serum is the only expensive serum I have BACK UPS for soon as tj Maxx got em... I've tried so many things "similar" but sometimes you gotta stick with what works for you.
Cerave has a new cleansing balm I actually managed to score for $1 at CVS with coupon stacking & extra bucks but I think it’s around $12. I don’t have a ton of experience with cleansing balm but it works nicely for me, doesn’t burn my eyes and I think I’ve seen some positive reviews for it.
I learned something about dupes years ago in another field. When Xanax had a generic version come out my doctor ordered that. It didn't work the same. It made me feel somewhat shitty, it was like a completely different feel. I would argue with the doc and say I want brand names. Well insurance then steps in and forces you into the generic. Just because something has the exact same ingredients it does not mean it was formulated the same way. I like my luxury products like StriVectin Super C and all the triggered comment readers have to attack me for it. I love it. It makes me feel wonderful. I'm taking my son off Timeless and threw him a bottle of StriVectin yesterday. Some things are just worth it.
Thanks for this video. Good info to have! I used to work in skin care. Theoretically ceramides are micronized moisturizing ingredients capable of breaching the cell wall to increase hydration.
Is there a reason why basic Ponds Cold Cream is never ever mentioned?? My grandma used it, my mom uses it, and I’ve used it since as far back as I can remember! It’s gentle and moisturizing, and easily removes all makeup - while being extremely affordable and widely available.
I remember it being mentioned a couple of times, but couldn't point you to a specific video. If I remember correctly James spoke well of it as a multitask product, but possibly wasn't overwhelmed by it. He gets to try out such a wide range of brands and products (jealous jealous jealous!! 🤭) that he probably forgets about the more traditional, less flashy ones. I'm glad Ponds is working well for you, and your mum before you. My mother used to use Vichy cleansing milk when I was a little girl, and when my time for makeup removal finally came she passed the tradition on to me. Although I've now changed my cleanser, I still always have a bottle of the Vichy one at hand: it works really well even with waterproof mascara, it's around the £10 mark and it's full of memories for me ☺
For me it doesn’t remove waterproof heavy sunscreen or waterproof eye mKe up well. I expect my 1st cleanse to make my skin look completely cleaned off.
Hi! Love your reviews! I was wondering if you have a video about caring for your skin under a beard, it often seems like its own ecosystem under there and in need of extra moisture. If you have any tips I'd love to hear them!
I really haven’t found a better cleansing balm for removing makeup, than Clinique. All others really leave a residue on my skin. I only use the balms as my double cleanse step, so I really need it to remove makeup and not leave a film I need to scrub off. I am interested in the No. 7 balm to see the comparison.
I'd love to try it out, but it looks like the no 7 has fragrance, so a heads up if that's important to you. finding fragrance free products that work well is tough, so I get why ppl tend to go for the clinique, even if it is pricier >_
@@curtiseyofme Fragrance in the No 7? My skin doesn’t tolerate fragrance…thanks for sharing. I’m just going stick with the Clinique balm…never had a problem after all these! Thx again. 😊
I got a mini of this in a gift set a year ago and I’ve barely made a dent in it… but then I only feel the need to use it when I’m wearing something hardcore like a Danessa Myricks Twin Flames, or an absolute sh*t ton of mascara (I don’t wear foundation or cream bronzers etc.) It only takes a little ‘swirl’ on the pad of each index finger to dissolve the heaviest eye makeup and then I use a gentle rinse-off cleanser all over the face. Gets every scrap off and doesn’t irritate my eyes or leave an icky feeling. So for me it’s worth it, but I totally get that a full-sized tub is a lot of money to shell out.
I have the isntree bifida serum. I believe it has some peptides as well. It's a good product but it has an oily feeling which I don't love. Wanna try the Galactomyces essence! 😊 also I got the ceramide AMPL:E ampoule as pr your recommendation. Looking forward to trying that one. I love ceramides
I recently bought the ceramide recovery serum by Glow Recipe but I haven't opened it yet. I think my skin is going to love it! I would have liked to try the Glow Recipe product that contained pineapple (I think it was a vitamin C serum) but it's been discontinued 🙁.

James please could you do a video on some of the skin doctors products in particular the capillary clear cream. I’ve heard good things but unsure how it would even work to reduce broken capillaries. I remember watching your video when you had IPL on your face and I tried the same but it didn’t work for me 😩

Yayyy new upload ✨
What about reviewing some Beauty Counter products? Thank you James! Love from 🇨🇦
I learned something about dupes years ago in another field.
I thought I was the only one who knew about that amazing COSRX essence! It’s amazing ✨✨✨🥰🥰🥰
Can guide me how I can use it right after cleansing?
Thanks for this video. Good info to have! I used to work in skin care. Theoretically ceramides are micronized moisturizing ingredients capable of breaching the cell wall to increase hydration.
So is it good or not for the skin?
@@inmy20_s of course they are good
can you please do a review of Tony Moly? their products are cute but are they effective?
Hello James! I think you are amazing 🤩 could you Please review Alpha-H? Especially their cleansing balm ❤
I bought the Isntree TW-Bifida ampoule and it helps with my dry compromised skin. Without the cost of Estee Lauder... 😉
Pls try numbezin, a Korean brand skin care product. And a very good dupe for the skII essence and estee lauder serum… Take care! From Canada :-)
Yayyy!! You and Robert are the best
Hi! Love your reviews! I was wondering if you have a video about caring for your skin under a beard, it often seems like its own ecosystem under there and in need of extra moisture. If you have any tips I'd love to hear them!
Elf Holy Hydration Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm... Great inexpensive dupe for Clinique Take the Day Off
This is what I use. I love it!
I must admit to splurging on the Clinique balm ...I might have to try the no 7 😊
The Clinique balm was the first I used and I do like it but it’s too expensive. I use ELF now and I love it. It’s now my go to balm
Ingredient wise I feel like numbuzin glow toner is more accurate dupe of sk 11 and it's works amazing .
So for me it’s worth it, but I totally get that a full-sized tub is a lot of money to shell out.
try yadah cleansing balm I don't feel a residue at all
@@Sophiaivanovs thank you!
Heimish & the Juno & Co. cleansing balms are 👌👍 💯
I have the isntree bifida serum.
I love the n07 cleansing balm, well most of their products! Would love you to do more reviews on n07 ❤
I love that shirt !! Thanks for the video 😏
This was one of my favourite videos you have made!! Super useful ❤
I was expecting Banila co cleansing balm. Is it suitable for oily, acne prone skin? BTW love you James ❤lots of love from India 🇮🇳
You r amazing! Thanks !! I love Estee lauder, but i m going to try your recommended product!❤
I love the Missha time revolution probio ampoule night repair
I feel like maybe Robert should review first step cleansers because the most important thing to me is *always* the ability to remove long-wear makeup, but every other part of skincare I'd go to James for.
The body shop cleansing balm is really good too!
Can we get a review of the Milani Green Goddess cleansing balm? I absolutely love it. It feels like it costs way more than $12.
Can you do more peach and lilly? The one I am considering the most is the Bha Plus Pore Zero serum
I’ve tried so many dupes for Estée Lauder and sk-ii but I finally gave up and just stick to the originals
James please could you do a video on some of the skin doctors products in particular the capillary clear cream. I’ve heard good things but unsure how it would even work to reduce broken capillaries. I remember watching your video when you had IPL on your face and I tried the same but it didn’t work for me 😩
Amazing video, loving them all. Investors started to watch one a night going back through your uploads. Could you recommend a dupe for the Eve Lom Daily Rejuvenating Cream. I’ve had a few samples and I LOVE it but £120 is pretty out of my price range ?
I love budget dupes videos 😁😍
Thanks James, always been 50/50 with whether ceramides are a good addition in my routine & if so, worth the £!! Hope you're well 😊
Hey James , what do you think about Dior and Clarins skincare?
I LOVE the Cosrx cica cleansing balm🥰🌱
Anyone know a dupe for the Estée Lauder supreme + moisturiser? I can’t find a dupe anywhere!
Any help would be appreciated!🧡
Another dupe for SKII essence is Missha time revolution essence and a dupe for este lauder night serum is Missha time revolution night ampoule. Tried all the above
surprising to see someone mention no.7 skincare since i never really see people mention the brand in budget skincare videos, maybe bc its more of a uk thing?
No 7 has got a lot more expensive, most of the serums and creams are £25 and over here in the UK
Can you do a video of your favourite sold in the uk brands? I haven’t got the funds for international shipping 😅
