Just wanna say thanks for this series as it rlly helps me panic less when trying new foods. I’m autistic w/ a long history of battling anorexia so have a hell of a lot of fear foods. It wasn’t helped by the fact I was raised in a very abusive household where kids “didn’t need food” so fast food & takeaways defo weren’t something I had. Almost building the fear of them even more. But now my amazing care team are trying to introduce me to the world of enjoying eating by bringing me their fave things from fast food places or ordering things to the hospital for me to try. And next week they told me I’m gonna try Jollibee (the main staff doing this are all Filipino as I’ve discovered asian & Mexican are my fave cuisines) so I should look at the menu to see what I wanna try first. It’s been super anxiety provoking. I’ve never had a hotdog before. I struggle with chicken on the bone due to my disability so not bothered abt the chickenjoy. I don’t rlly wanna try a beef burger as that feels like nowt special & I wanna try challenge myself. I’m defo getting the loaded fries as all the staff have said they’re their fave + has chicken tenders in. But I couldn’t decide what ‘main’ to have. I’ve tried homemade Filipino spaghetti before but am curious to try the fast food version. And I also like the look of the rice slaw bowl cause I love that sorta thing. So yeah, went on a bit of a tangent there but just wanted to say ur vids are genuinely helping me reprogram my brain to not believe what my abusive parents raised me to think & instead finally start having a healthy relationship with food filled with enjoyment :)
I remember when Jollibee first came to Canada, and I kept having it. Got to the point where I got sick of it, and haven’t had it for almost a year. After watching this, I want to have some again. 😂😂
I remembered when it came out first in Dubai, pinoy are becomes crazy and the queue are insanely long!!! but after it has several branch among the UAE it becomes more popular than KFC
But also much smaller. The only reason all that would be under $50 is that we wouldn't be able to afford above $50. Jollibee is already having trouble with the fact that most Filipinos can only afford fast food once a month, plus the rising prices of chicken and such. If they raise the prices too high, no one would come and they wouldn't profit lol.
@@Red-by5in How would you buy all of it for $2? 1 pc. chicken w/ rice and coke, sure, that's around P100, but all of the food in the video would definitely cost around $50. (He was talking about the total price of all of the food)
True. But really it's split. Filipinos who want bigger Jollibee portion sizes vs Filipinos who want cheaper prices. What we have now is a compromise that both they and we can afford. Lugi naman sila kung makamura tayo pero malaki ibigay nila, lalo na at mahal pagkain sa pinas ngayon. XD
My Filipino friend takes me to Jollibee and Mang Inasal. As an Asian the Unli-Rice deal was so Great. Also their whole Roasted Pork Zebu Lichun or something.
I've been to both the Jolliebee in the Philippines and in the US and I actually prefer the ones in the US! Wider variety on the menu, bigger portions, more meat in their spaghetti and I think the food tastes better too. I used to live in NYC and there was a Jolliebee that was close enough for me to go to, but now that I'm in a different state, the closest one is THREE HOURS away by car. So I wrote to the Jolliebee corporation and begged them to at least set up a restaurant in the closest city to where I live. They said they'll consider it but that was a few years back and before pandemic happened. I really miss Jolliebee!
If you ever get a chicken at Jollibee, be sure to dunk it in the brown gravy they will give you. A lot of people mistake the gravy for the fries, but no, it's for the chicken! Idk if they give extras over there but in the Philippines, gravy is a free refill, so we usually just douse our chicken with it.
I'm sure a huge part of it is that the US Jollibee is specifically targeting filipino communities and acting as an overall ambassador for filipino culture altogether, so they get to have stuff like Halo Halo or Adobo Rice. While in the Philippines itself, it's strategy is more as the McDonald's killer.
Being in both Jolibees from UK, USA, and including Philippines, I really see a lot of added menus and one of them from the UK is my favorite thing to order being the sriracha chicken loaded fries.
i went back to the philippines a few years ago and oh my god i forgot how small the jollibee portions are it was so saddening T_T but also im really sad that breakfast isnt available anymore in the US because their breakfasts are so good omg :((( their corned beef with the garlic fried rice and egg UGHHHHHHhhh
The US peach mango pie is twice the size of the Philippine version. The shrinking size has really been noticeable over the years, but I didn't know the US version is still the same size as it was when it was first introduced in the Philippines. As it's the only item on the Jollibee menu I like, I don't go to Jollibee anymore. I make my own peach mango pie.
...We have Jollibee in the UK?! I should really start going outside more often or Googling stuff, I've lived in the UK all my life and didn't know we have Jollibee here too. 😂

And I don't think I've seen any Chicken Sandwiches yet either. But hopefully one day! At least we have a Jollibee though. And they've expanded so much in the Greater Toronto Area these past couple of years.
It still surprises me to see some stuff foreign Jollibee’s have that the ones in the Philippines don’t. Like why isn’t there a proper halo-halo in the Jollibee’s here? All we got was a sundae with halo-halo toppings at one point. We used to have chicken burgers from them here, but they apparently weren’t popular enough to last in the Philippines. Never heard of dipping the Chickenjoy into the spaghetti like that before until this video. The closest to that I’ve experienced is the chicken piece accidentally rolling into the spaghetti on occasion. Sounds like a neat idea though. Also is it me or does the cheese on spaghetti in foreign Jollibee’s melt better than the ones in the Philippines? A nice informative video overall.
@TF Fan Artist If both Jollibee owned restaurant chains like Chowking and Mang Inasal can both have halo-halo, why can’t Jollibee too? I’m still curious to try the foreign Jollibee halo-halo out, as the shaved ice consistency looks different from the ones from Chowking. Reminds me a bit of Kuya J’s halo-halo.
@@kaylemathewcomendador6964 that's true when i tried the chowking halo-halo i didn't like it, there where to many little ice chunks mang inasal wins when it comes to halo-halo for sure

In the Philippines, all of that food would probably be under $50
But also much smaller.

$2 is roughly 100 php.

It’s probably a franchise so it’s up to some normal person to decide to open one because headquarters dont really take care of this stuff.
Jollibee is life. Couldn’t care less about the portion.
Tbh I hate it
Jolibee is the btec version of KFC I'm in the uk and never knew it existed here

If you ever get a chicken at Jollibee, be sure to dunk it in the brown gravy they will give you. A lot of people mistake the gravy for the fries, but no, it's for the chicken! Idk if they give extras over there but in the Philippines, gravy is a free refill, so we usually just douse our chicken with it.

Dipping the fried off chicken into the Jollibee's spaghetti basically becomes a chicken parm meal.
Put it on top of the tenders!
meh, thats not the way to do it tho.. Chicken joy on rice, smothered, no, drowning in gravy.. THATS how you do it the filipino way.
Chicken dipped in spaghetti is the way that a restaurant like jolibee would do ot especially if they originate in the Philippines
It's not a Filipino thing. I guess that friend is trolling. 😂
I've NEVER seen anyone do that here in the Philippines
The fact that Jollibee Outside from the Philippines has more items on their menu is a big stab in the back
I'm sure a huge part of it is that the US Jollibee is specifically targeting filipino communities and acting as an overall ambassador for filipino culture altogether, so they get to have stuff like Halo Halo or Adobo Rice. While in the Philippines itself, it's strategy is more as the McDonald's killer.
@@josephbernados1649 Wow... the Jollibee outside the Philippines rewards the Filipinos more than the ones in the mainland! 😭

The US peach mango pie is twice the size of the Philippine version. The shrinking size has really been noticeable over the years, but I didn't know the US version is still the same size as it was when it was first introduced in the Philippines.
