Hi Rob- What a great synopsis of your experience with Parkside. I would forward this video to Parkside and suggest a partnership where they can send you tools to review. I think they will hum on the idea! 😃👍
Hi John, Big thanks.. now that would be fantastic 😃 a truck load before Christmas😂 .. if anyone high up at parkside sees this message.. let’s talk 😉 cheers Rob
Hi Rob, Bargain all that for £800 not bad at all, it's not all about buy cheap buy twice, tools like this will last, there are not used every day 6-7 hours a day as a trades man does. These tools are used by the man in his shed, like my self I've got old second hand tools from my local car boot sale and I've got old Black and Decker mains drills dated 1982 or 82/83 and still work well, I don't hammer them and they are not working in trade conditions the will probably out last me. Parksde tools and accessories are great for the money I bought back in the spring was a box of screwdriver bits from flat head, Phillips , PZ drives and torx heads and tamper proof heads for £6.99 a set of 25 bits, that is a bargain and good quality. As always good to see you, have a good weekend, take care mate👍
Hi Rob, must say I have a similar collection (Parkside). I think the X20 battery tools are fantastic, I sort of agree with the buy cheap, buy twice and there is a degree of truth in that but as a DIYer I use the battery tools occasionally and can't justify the outlay for dewalt/matika/bosch tooling and batteries etc. Yes, if I was a trade'y heavily using them day in, day out I would say it could be false economy, but for us DIYers they are very good.
It may be "buy cheap, buy twice" but also it is "Buy cheap, replace decent/expensive". If the cheap is not doing the job or it wears out, then you are using the tool. the ones that don't run out are either doing the job or not getting used. They especially suggest when getting a Router bit set as the ones that wear out will be the ones most used. 800 over three years, is less than 1 pound a day. Also, Sunday 8th December has some parkside bits coming (saw on new leaflet) including the pizza cutter you mentioned. I debated on the Wood Lathe but I just decided to buy a secondhand Lathe. Now just to get all the other bits. Thanks for sharing
Hi Rob, I have to say my favourite Parkside tool is a corded drill/screwdriver. I had to wait ages for it to come back round as they kept putting the battery model out but eventually I managed to get one its a great tool as I have a 10 by 8 workshop so with a roof mounted plug it reaches every corner of my workshop so ideal for my projects.
Think I might have a few more 😉- I have the 2x20v lawnmower which was missing a wee clip contacted support and they sent out a replacement mower as spare parts !!
I have quite a bit of stuff from Parkside but not as much as you. I do have a handy torch though, you just slide it on the top of the 20v battery, it's my go-to Parkside 20v tool. I don't think you can get them now but a good cheap £8-£10 item 3yr ago. Parkside 20v PLHLA 20-Li A1 torch. It's a gun trigger one like an old scalextric hand gun. Thanks for sharing your motherload 😀👍
I just checked out your channel @thegarageworkshop and subscribed. Now to binge watch as many of the 208 videos as i can. Good day from the states (Florida)
Parkside tools are amazing value. The odd dud but the vast majority have done the job they were designed for and quite a few have far exceeded my expectations (impact driver for £25 is an absolute workhorse). It's a good way of getting started without spending thousands. You can experiment & work out which tools you use a lot & would be worth investing in a more precise upgraded brand. Their consumables are very affordable & means I can tackle most maintenance for pennies. Yes, I'm a huge Parkside fan. To top it off, a 3yr warranty with no questions asked on the few occasions I've had an issue. My top picks are the impact drivers & drill drivers, the lawn strimmer that runs on two 4ah 20v batteries, the cordless circular saw, paint sprayer, router, track saw, mini bandsaw, stick welder, plainer, electric brad/stapler, cordless jigsaw to name some of the best & that's not even mentioning the hand tools. If I totalled it all up I've probably got a couple of grand worth of kit & if I had the equivalent in Mikita/De Walt/Bosch I'd probably be looking more like £10ks worth 😂 Of course, the premium brands offer more precision & I've upgraded to Bosch & Mikita gear where I think it will make a difference in the quality of my work or ease of use but I can see myself replacing Parkside stuff with more Parkside stuff in the future IF they ever wear out (nothing significant has conked out on me yet touch wood!)
Another great video. I've also got a lot of the stuff you featured. Its certainly good enough for most jobs. Im waiting for their version of the bosch bench drill to appear on the shelves. I could have bought it on a discount last winter but provaricated for too long and stock was gone by the time I decided to buy. Their kitchen scales seem to have a problem with running (the penny) battery down fairly quickly.
I have the Bosch pillar drill with the digital readout and it's great. I'm pretty confident I could swap it out for the Parkside one & not notice a huge amount of difference, other than the price. Grab it when they have it in the middle isle, I'm sure you'll be pleased with it.
One tool I would recommend is the flexi-drive for a full size drill, I have used a few of these and I think the one I got from Aldi years ago lasted the longest. Draper do one that I replaced the Aldi one with. I clamped the drill in a workbench and then used the flexi head for sanding and carving with a Wolfcraft rotary rasp, takes out the ache of trying to hold and heft the weight and awkwardness of the drill around and I could then concentrate on doing the woodworking.
I have quite a few Parkside tools and never had a problem with them as a DIYer/hobbyist. I also have a fair few Ferrex tools again no problems although II have managed to break a couple of clamps, but that was just me being too obsessed with clamping as tight as I could. You have some tools there that I have not seen in our Lidl, it is just a game of luck I suppose but as you say there isn't much about at the moment in Lidl and Aldi seem to have fallen right off. Good video Rob. Cheers!
I check their website out on a weekly basis to see what's coming up in the isle. Will probably be late winter before we see much again. Saves me a wasted trip into the store but most upsetting when they occasionally advertise something I really want, then don't stock it. I leave the store in a right sulk!
Amateurs (not meant as insult!!) do not need to buy expensive tools since they will mostly never get enough use to wear out or break. Cheap does not mean rubbish you can buy decent tools that are not cr*p. When a particular tool breaks because it gets used all the time that is probably a sign to replace that individual tool with a higher priced and longer lifed replacement. As things break we work out which tools we need the expensive ones that will last forever no matter how much we use them and which cheap tools are satisfactory for our needs. I mean almost all of us own at least one large socket set, but probably only end up using 2 or 3 sockets for common sizes on a regular basis. Why have a set of 25 Snap On sockets when 22 of them will probably just gather dust? If your ratchet breaks maybe replace it with a higher quality one and if you wear out a socket replace it with a top quality too as it obviously gets a lot if use. The remainder will likely be satisfactory for a long time simply because they do not get used very often.
Surprising how many things in this video I have, mostly the Aldi equivalent as I have an Aldi within 20 mins walk of home, but they tend to be similar quality and prices.
There f clamps are fantastic belt sander lathe we wont go there 😮😂. What's this other big thing you been telling us about?? I need to look at there Dremel multi tool 👍🏴 speak soon
Ban Xmas stuff in middle aisle!! I really wanted the precision screwdriver set but it sold out a while back. I'll probably never need it lol but I'm like you. A middle diddle addict 😂 (I call the middle aisle middle diddle 😅) keep up the great content mate 👍
if you use tools every day then yes buy pro tools, but for a tool i use once a month or even once a year lidl and aldi are fine. to be honest for some its a bit iphone user mentality, got to have the new model. great video look forward to the new old tool
So does Lidl have these tools in the States? There is one not too far away, but I have not been inside in at least two years. It is across the road from Aldi, where I often stop on the way home rather than on my way into town. Will have to make a stop in there tomorrow, but I expect the center aisle will be set up for Christmas...
Hi I don’t know if it’s a thing but in Europe they have a pro black park side tool variant have you thought of importing or having a wee trip abroad to find them. Would make a great video. 👍
It's a shame they don't do more of the professional gear in the UK. I was in southern France this summer & popped into a Lidl for a mooch. There was a set of black-handled screwdrivers in a very sexy box (looked like premium chocolate box) but sadly I didn't have the weight capacity in my suitcase to bring them home. They looked really nice quality. If the power tools are similarly upgraded then I would have thought the UK DIY-er would be interested.
As a Parkside fanboy too, do you find that Lidl sell things like rivets, but not the gun, or will have a huge stock of sanding belts but no actual sanders? Surely they are missing out on a trick there, to sell more tools I never knew I needed! Although I have resisted the plasma cutter (so far) I have absolutely no use for one, but I still want it😂
I purchased the plasma cutter a few years back. It works but I've yet to use it in anger. The little stick welder is great though for repair works & making things like table legs out of steel bar tube stock. Cheap & pretty easy to 'master' (after grinding off all the lumps & bumps).
Check my channel out for more detailed reviews on the parkside tools.

As I was putting up my Parkside magnetic tool holder I had "hello sheddies" going through my head...YOU are the voice of Parkside! 😂
And the laugh too! 🤣
Basically.....your shed is a dream 'Middle Aisle'....let me just grab my shopping basket and I'll pop round!!😂❤
😂😂👍
Now you have to put them all away 😁. Can't wait to get Christmas out of the way and return the middle aisle to it's proper use 👍👍.
😃👍 definitely mate

I am the proud owner of a parasite endoscope. Never used it but it was £20 and I just had to have it just in case!

😂👍very true mate
Love it!
Really surprised you have not got one of those Parkside Track Saw's yet. They are really popular and are great for the price.

Hope Santa brings you some right hand gloves
😂😂😂😂
I use Parkside tools and I think they are great
I've got a few Parkside tools and have found them good for the price. Not bad for someone who only has a 10 x 8 garden shed to work in.

Good to hear on the flexi drive 👍 cheers Rob
Hi Rob….Looks like you are short of tools😂🙈omg what a collection.
Most of my tools are from the Parkside range, as you say not professional standard but perfect for DIY/Hobbyist
Dont have to be
👍 I haven’t had any real problems so far with the range.. cheers Rob
I have quite a few Parkside tools and never had a problem with them as a DIYer/hobbyist. I also have a fair few Ferrex tools again no problems although II have managed to break a couple of clamps, but that was just me being too obsessed with clamping as tight as I could.

LIDL’s middle aisle seems to be the UK equivalent of Harbor Freight here in the states.
got them squares, enough to say they were nowhere near square, good enough for framing jobs maybe?
Yes I think they’ll suffer with a knock. Cheers Rob
Omg the shed gets ❤😂
