  • Shocking Difference: $100 Room in Philippines vs USA
In this video I compare $100 rooms in the America with the Philippines. The options in this downtown area in the U.S. were limited, so I booked a room, which had very bad reviews. For $100 in Siargao, Philippines there were great options. This video shows you how much further your money goes in the Philippines vs the USA.

Lived here for 5 years and have to say it really depends on where you are but generally would say yes. Just don't take public transport in the Philippines if you do try to take a uv the jeepney drivers and some of the buses are super rude and play very filthy language music and will purposely entice you when you try and tell them they can't play that in public with kids on the bus. Generally Philippines is much cheaper and better. I am debating moving back here once I go back to state and save a bit and buy a home here in the Philippines and start a small business but that is a concern given the curroption we will have to figure it out.

The mall has all the amenities for food/entertainment and transportation to the boulevard. Nothing like it in the US and I traveled all over the US for business for 25+ years. Many resorts around the Philippines offer much more for less money than almost all the resorts I spent time in the US. For much less than $100/night in Siquijor (La Condura) I had a fabulous room, very nice pool, great food available, and one of the best views on the island. The staff was fabulous. The only downside was it’s not close to the beach and the night life, but I wanted to chill out so it was just what I needed.

I think the guy driving the red car thinks you are a narc. I'm from the Philippines and have stayed in the US during business trips. It is hard to find decent and safe accommodation for $100 a night. Usually, they are at the $300 to $400 range in my experience. I'm surprised you found a clean one for $100. But in the Philippines, even for $60, you can check-in to a 3-star hotel in a safe neighborhood. Accommodation is really affordable in most countries in Southeast Asia.

I mean, let's be real, this could happen anywhere around the world in this modern day. But the trick with the Philippines is knowing the places you ought to visit limiting your exploration and having some trustworthy locals tell you where to and where not to go. As long as you go to these right places, it may not be a first-world country experience, but the warmth of the people, and quality of life it gives you. Apples and oranges, my friend. I live in the province of the Philippines. Siargao is a top tourist location. Birmingham, on the other hand. Also , a good , clean , and safe room in Manila is only 40 bucks. Walk down the street at 2 in the morning with no problem. The best decision I've ever made in my life. I love this place!

I had so much realization but I'm grateful that I get to see another part of the world. It made us realize that our country has a very rich culture and that happiness you could share with everyone around. It cannot be replace ld with any material thing. now looking forward to save up and maybe do passive income there and go home soon for good.

I stayed in a resort with a private beach in Cebu and it was $85 per night. It was a spacious 1 bedroom, not a cabana though. My airbnb host said he would allow me to stay there for $1000 per month.
The host told me about the restaurants at the resort. He said "they were kind of pricey". I had steak tenderloin medallions and potatoes and salad and drink and tax/tip for $27. 😄
