Filipino friendliness with the westerners has to do with their white-skin preference and being a former colony of the US. In the long past kids myself included thought all white people are Americans and we'd say "Hi Joe!" to them, Joe I later learned was how they were called during WW II. Also, McArthur liberated us from the Japanese. One more, Americans though not all, generally wouldn't smirk at gross-looking foreign foods like some of ours. Filipinos on the other hand, wouldn't ever try bagong--had it not been their own food. Cheers for for being adventurous.
You need to go to Zamboanga where Chavacano is spoken. Chavacano is a Spanish based Creole language. Your Spanish is good enough that you’ll be able to speak to native Chavacano speakers. Zamboanga should also make some great UA-cam episodes. Enjoy the Philippines!

Philippines is filled with sobra mabait people. Your experience at the beach has been my experience all of the time. Pretty much, everywhere!!! I love it there. I'm looking forward to returning in May, 2023 for 3 months with my fiance Flor from "explore with Flor" (that's her channel). And we will be buying a place in the Philippines in a few yrs (maybe 2). We are looking at Tablas, Romblon or Southern Cebu. But we love every island there. Her vlogs show our travels throughout the islands. And I agree, I feel safe everywhere I go in the Philippines.
yeah! I've had other offers, but I wanted to do it with a product/service that I actually stood behind and have used. Their program was effective for me so I wanted to collaborate with them!
It’s very peculiar because if you ask me why Filipinos are warm and friendly, I always say it’s because we grew up in such dire conditions that our tolerance for suffering is dialled all the way up which makes us appreciate the smallest things in life like friends, families, and building connections. But the thing is, there are so many other countries in the world that are the same as us and some even in worse situations but there’s still something different that sets the Filipinos apart. It really is very strange but also very fortunate.
It's never been easy to live in other country with no idea about its culture, the people themselves and even the language they speak. But, your stay in the Philippines kinda made an opposite perception. Thank you brother for choosing the Philippines as your 2nd home. And thank you for liking the people.

Honestly the truth is Filipinos are most easy to be friendly and are happy person even they’re in the time of life struggles but they are always smiling when you talked to them ive been observing the other cultures from different countries the Filipinos are have amazing culture
Major reasons I think for our cheerful spirit: 1. Family- we try to stay close and celebrate birthdays, weddings, fiestas, etc. We care and look for one another. 2. Love for singing ( videoke)- even if not pitch perfect, we always sing during parties and family get-togethers. 3. Sunlight- helps in Vit. D absorption and producing the happy hormones 😀. 4. There’s also our deep and abiding faith in a Supreme Being who cares for us as well.

Hi Jonathan, it is really evident by your videos that you are truly happy in the Philippines. With the beautiful landscape, the weather and the friendly people, it would be hard to beat. I think it really helped you that you had traveled since 2014 and had a lot of experience with the challenges of travel and living abroad. The PH is also a haven to all foreigners because of the majestic scenery/lime natural stone formation/beautiful mountains and diving spots etc. that is why foreigners specilly retired Americans choose to live and stay for Good in the PH. If you blend well to all locals/community they Will respect and treat you Good also. 👍👍👍
Wow as a FIlipino American, with my family originally from the visayas, I went to school there one time and I understand why my family wants to go back. Not only they do speak English, you can very much feel how FREEEE it is. That's why I love being Filipino. We really know how to be vibrant and be free, including the way people drive, there are no rules haha. Yes, I am happy to be an American, but you can definitely feel the difference, and I sometimes feel enclosed by how stressed Americans are. I miss it so much and I want that feeling again. BTW, i was so shocked that you actually filmed someone in your video that I went to school with LOL
Wonderful video man. You earned yourself a subscriber. You have inspired me. I love to play and sing, and I'm really good at it. I think I'd have a blast doing that with these people. It has a wireless microphone and accepts input from my phone, via bluetooth. These are the kind of people I would love wandering among and singing with.
That's just how we handle things here in our country in any kind of situation, we handle it with a smile, concern, through fun and chill way and with humility just like you jonathan. You take care huh bro always
Great video from someone who did the opposite - I lived and grew up there but, moved to the US about 18 years ago. Anecdotally, there seems to be a lot more happier people there. While she worked in Manila, I lived with her parents (Lolo & Lola) and a slew of aunties, uncles, and cousins in Zamboanga city in the house my mother had built for her parents. That is where most of my family are from. I went to elementary school (from kindergarten to 3rd grade) there and learned to speak Chavocano which is broken Spanish. When I turned 9, mother decided to return back to Chicago to work. I no longer can speak Chavocano. However, I can still understand a little. I’ve only been to Zamboanga. I haven’t yet had the opportunity to visit all the other beautiful and amazing islands there. Have only seen very little of Manila and the last time I was there was in 2015. You have seen more of the Philippines than me. I am definitely due for another visit or maybe a stay. I’m uncertain yet. Time will tell.

Its actually an honor for Filipinos if you sample their food and eat with them. Your openess to try and experience everything local is amazing. Filipinos will definitely love you for your "pakikisama" ❤
That’s just how the filipinos are even here in America. I noticed they are very welcoming and hospitable. 😎
As I always say, the people is the best import of my country. I am not saying this because I am a Filipino but really the people is what makes the Philippines truly a wonderful place to live. As you say Philippines is not perfect and no country is but what I can truly guarantee is that when you talk to Filipinos they will try to feel you at home.
completely agree!

BEST TOURIST SPOTS IN BALABAC, PALAWAN, PHILIPPINES (Check it out in UA-cam) Hello my friend I highly recommend to explore Balabac, Palawan especially Mansalangan Sandbar, Punta Sebaring Beach & visit Onok Island. There is a direct flight from Manila going to Puerto Princesa City. Afterwards, you can take van from Puerto Princesa Bus Terminal going to Rio Tuba Port & then from Rio Tuba Port going to Balabac, Palawan.
1. Visit Punta Sebaring Beach & Bugsuk Island, lies at the south portion of Bugsuk Island which nestles two dreamy white sand bars; Punta Sebaring 1 & Punta Sebaring 2.
2. Explore Onok Island or Roughton Island in Balabac, Palawan. It is often the most hailed & talked about among all Islands in Balabac. The island is engulfed with white, floury sands that extends to a 5 meters wide reef where sighting of sea turtles & pink dolphins awaits.
3. See & Swim in Ursula Island, it is located near Rio Tuba, Bataraza, Palawan.

You’re right about the US being a stressful country. Everyone here is in a hurry. Some are very demanding and want things right away. Your travels gives me the escape I need! Your videos always makes me smile. 😊
Too much violence there.
Finally a Sponsor! That's a good sign for your channel 👍
Love your video my wife is from garcia hernandez, bohol. It’s nice to see her island featured.
Always waiting for your new video……
thank you for always watching, Resty!!
I'm a Filipino and very happy to hear from different nationalities how you guys enjoy our lovely country.
It's never been easy to live in other country with no idea about its culture, the people themselves and even the language they speak. But, your stay in the Philippines kinda made an opposite perception.
Thank you brother for choosing the Philippines as your 2nd home.
And thank you for liking the people.
definitely .. the language barrier is a huge factor. Thank you for watching! And it's not difficult to like the people 😂

Wow.. Thank You For Choosing And loving My Motherland.. True The Real gems Of Philippine Tourism Are The People😍
We're happy that you visit our country and happy that you liked it. Youre very much welcome. Thank you for compliment
HOSPITABLE/HOSPITALITY!!!! Thats the number one Character of the Filipino. PROUD TO BE A FILIPINO
Hope one day a collaboration with another famous vlogger, 'Bisayang Hilaw'. He is an American who is very fluent in Bisaya and Ilonggo PH language.

Thanks Glenn! I'm sure I'll keep enjoying!
I wonder if you went to the Philippines first before all those other countries, if you would have appreciated life there as much as you do? They always say that experience is the best teacher.
Saving the best for last?
When it comes to safety, 2 foreign vloggers have raised the bar for me. They are BecomeFilipino and KumanderDaot. Both reside in Davao region. They've been to places that even I as a local would be afraid to go. They're wisely (but not wrecklessly) breaking regional barriers.
Very nice Vlog, Jonathan! Someday try to visit North of the Philippines which is quiet and a lot of beautiful places too.Have fun and keep safe always!
Thank you for the kind words

My goodness, Philippines is so beautiful!
I was born in Philippines but after I got married I moved to Canada. but, unfortunately I became a introvert. 😭 I miss in Philippines I want to see my old self.
I feel much happier while watching this.. 🥰🥰🥰
You're still here! How many months now? Good for you!
I’m the Philippines? Maybe 5 or 6 months now!
PH is considered/voted as the best country in south east Asia to visit in 2022.
I'm so proud of our country Jonathan so nice to stay here its like Kulas so many years na amping kanunay
Wonderful video man. You earned yourself a subscriber. You have inspired me. I love to play and sing, and I'm really good at it. I think I'd have a blast doing that with these people. There is now a guitar that has no sounding body. Instead it has an amplifier and speakers. The guitar is and electric/acoustic. It has a wireless microphone and accepts input from my phone, via bluetooth. These are the kind of people I would love wandering among and singing with.
You're smile is also infectious. Awesome! I pray for safety in our country. ❤
That's just how we handle things here in our country in any kind of situation, we handle it with a smile, concern, through fun and chill way and with humility just like you jonathan. You take care huh bro always
living here in the philippines is the best choice of your life :)
people here is just happy even life are not what u wanted to be.
Great video from someone who did the opposite - I lived and grew up there but, moved to the US about 18 years ago. Anecdotally, there seems to be a lot more happier people there. Life is less complicated because many are satisfied with the simple things in life. Enjoy your stay and thanks making a cool video about the Philippines!
Quick video release this time. Awesome job as usual.
This one was actually completed a couple weeks ago because it needed to be approved by the sponsor. Then we agreed on today as the publish date!
I am so glad you appreciate the Filipino hospitality at it's best! We appreciate you for showing a spotlight on our amazing people!
Hi jonathan.. Thank you for your kinds words and embracing our culture in the philippines.. ingat palagi (take care always!) watching from Hongkong...

It is in our culture to treat a foreign people like to feel you that you are in ur country so we're raised like that. Treating good to foreign people always nice. Besides in our country everything is cheap mostly if ur in the province. It's really beautiful and the locals too understand that they treated well. So enjoy I'm one of your subscribers since you came to our country the Philippines. I'm watching you guys from Cairo the Arab world but originally from Davao City the Philippines. ❤️🇵🇭🇪🇬
Thanks and you are most welcome to stay as long as you like. All the best.
Thoroughly enjoy watching and following you island hop in the Philippines❣️🇵🇭 Your videos always makes this Filipina born, raised and have always resided here in Chicago want to go and live there❗️💯 🌴😌
Thank you for following along Ria! At what age did you move to Chicago from the Philippines?
@@travelescapesOFFICIAL I was born here in Chicago and when I was 3 yrs old, my mother decided to return to work in Manila as a nurse. Time will tell.
happy u enjoy ur stay in our country sir...thank you
I love it! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the good word and enjoy your stay in our country!
what you have said is all right..... i love your video and i enjoyed watching over it...
I love what you said . Keep up the good work .
Thank you for watching!!
I'm a Filipino who lives in Korea for 5 years. I live with my Korean husband and that alone is not a reason for me to say that I'm happy living in Korea. Philippines is really a country where happy people live.
Just keep. Showing me paradise my friend
