    I have 2 D4C's. One from 1989 that my grandparents gave to me, and a 1995 that I purchased on my own. Great video 👌👌

      Excellent. Thank you. This one is 1997 according to the date on the motor.

      @David Prokity 25 year's old, as long as you take care of them they'll last a long time.

    Thanks, David for the video. I am also amazed at how this rainbow vacuum machine is constructed. I also own the same model that you have. I need to change the bearing on mine. I don't know where to order the bearing. If you can give me the information about where I can buy the bearing I will really appreciate it. Thank you again so kindly for this video and God bless.

      There is a way to purchase bearings seperately but that is difficult unless you can find a local shop. The website I recommend is RainVac com.
      Also, after you find the part name and number you can look on Amazon to see if you can save $$ and/or S&H.
      I recommend just buying the whole motor assembly and that will come with everything in place .

    Hi David I am writing from Colombia South America. I wonder if you can give me some advise. I have a D4C, bought in Houston 1990 that is still in perfect condition, except that the motor cooling fan has lost its thread. And this part is nowhere to be found. Do you perhaps know or think if this part could be fixed with a prime epoxi resin or even work without it? Whatever you tell me will be without any resposability from your side. Please just tell me what you would do in this case. I would very much appreciate your opinion. Thank you Richard

      Hello Richard, Thank you for asking and trusting my response. I too did not see any new or used D4 Rainbow Motor Cooling Fans Item Number: R3277 in stock.
      Remember the fan is placed onto the motor with left hand thread and the wording on the top of the part will aide you with the removal and installation.
      Hand Tight Only.
      I have repaired plastic parts with a hot glue gun.
      I show an example of this kind of repair in the following automotive repair video;
      ua-cam.com/video/8jGNwXBOThE/v-deo.html
      I have also filled the hole completely and drilled a pilot hole in other similar repairs not shown in this video.
      This repair can be tried over and over again if the first attempt fails due to being impatient or some other reason.
      Give the repair a try and I hope this works for you.
      David Prokity

    Older Rainbows like the ones in the 1990's, were made to last. I have one from 1996 that I need some parts for it. The Main Housing, SER4230. place the latch mounts to on one side s broken. That cost just over $107 bucks. The water tank cannot be secured to the tank, because one of the latch mounting points is broken.

      Thank you for your comment. I have found some parts on Amazon and some parts at a rainbow vacuum website.

    Have a D4 SE model that has started pushing water out just above the bowl where the air exhausts. If I take the exhaust plug out it stops. Any idea what causes this problem. Thanks enjoy your videos

      Without being able to look at it. My guess is the seal between the top unit and the water unit. Somehow the basket is drawing water up and exhausting it out. GL. Parts are still available.

      You were right, replaced the seal, working like new. Thanks @@A_Renaissance_Man

    Do you know if it’s possible to replace the power cord on these vacuums?

    • @A_Renaissance_Man
      @A_Renaissance_Man  Рік тому

      Yes you can replace the power cord.
      I recommend rainvac com, lookup your particular vacuum and the cord is under "Main Housing".
      They run about $36.
      For the machine shown in this video the part number is R4052 and they claim to have an installation video which I have not watched.
      I hope this helped.

    The commission for selling them could be higher than 30%. I sold them back in the mid 1970's. It cost the factory to make them with a power tool and attachments was $60 dollars. They sold them to distributers for $120 dollars. Distributors tried to get $429 dollars with a power tool and all attachments. The least amount the salesperson could sell them for was $260 dollars, but they got no commission at all.

      Ahhh ... Those were the days, fighting for pennies. I remember trying a few commission jobs; time share and car sales, what a way to make a living, it was not for me I failed at it.
