The last two vlogs have been the funniest in awhile. Thanks for the laughs....and Vivians face when Steph said that wasn't the Philip special 😂. Loved it!!!
The reason red maples are all over the west coast cities is that they come in brilliant deep reds, especially in the fall. They are a tender tree so do best on the west coast. Imagine a backdrop of green with splashes of red maple leaf foliage trees. It makes for spectacular falls out here.
Jerry, firstly, you are our hero. The cabinets look great, Marie, you look fabulous and cheerful. I love Vivian and her daughter. Fun vlog again. I love Advent.
I love it when you two get together with Vivienne. Always great laughter! Loved seeing Isabella with you all. Way to stand by your mushy peas Philip. I think you’ve converted them. Always good to see what Chris is up to and all the other things too numerous to count. Love and Happy Advent to you all from Mary in Southern California 💗🎄✨
Davey is one of the most intelligent people I have seen! He knows so much about plans and how to manuever them and grow and just know this is his profession, but such a wealth of information he carrries amazes me! Sorry Gerald is leaving again! We wukk miss him being ther for Christmas, Thought he was staying through Christmas? Guess he has more plans for Christmas elsewhere? I love what Marie does with her festivities of St Lucia! She once gave a history of it all and she wore the crown of lights on her head, and just really enjoyed learning all she was explaining and the dessert she made, and has done it once more!! . Analise is a great hairdresser. You are very lucky to have her right there for you when needed! I would love that. Stephanie your hair looked so beautiful!!! Brian's daughter, did such a cute job with the sayings on his shirt. He is so delightful. Thank you for showing both vlogs. (Love Vivienne, Simon and Isabella ,they are so sweet and Viviene is so very giving of herself to everyone, always enjoy the times they share with us!)
In Western Australia we call the purple flowering tree, Jacaranda and I think it comes from Argentina and Bolivia. Where I live they are planted along many suburban streets and show a beautiful purple canopy during Summer.
Also very popular on east coast Australia. In fact the city of Grafton holds the Jacaranda Festival every Spring. The entire city is ablaze with purple flowers.
Jacaranda are different trees from Pawlonia trees - both are beautiful. I loved seeing Jacaranda trees in Australia. We can grow both Jacaranda and Pawlonia trees where I live.
Be very careful putting a liquid amber anywhere near the chapel or the chateau - they are notorious for having invasive roots - here in Australia they were a commonly planted street tree until they realised they were causing massive issues with pipes, sidewalks, roads and even foundations of houses nearby.
Happy to see Phillip get his just desserts, and synchronistic battery operated sweater, apple peas, celebrating with three lovely women, culminating in his fiance's double entendre! Merry Christmas to Davy, it was wonderful to see him. Happy Advent.
The foxglove tree or jacaranda trees, are stunning and get BIG. They lay down a carpet of pale purple for about one week a year on the ground. But they get HUGE.
There is a white bark tree that peels and is quite tall and beautiful. A Sycamore tree. As well as a white birch tree . But a white birch tree if laden with ice can break easy And don't forget the copper beech tree somewhere out in a field where it can get huge and be admired from a distance.
Jacaranda! We have lots in Australia, stunning purple colour in our Spring/Summer and they can get huge! They also drop the flowers and leaves and make a huge mess but they are beautiful.
The trees that Brian the Roofer mentioned (for 'someplace called La La Land') are gorgeous, if only for their bark. I'm glad to see that Amaury is able to handle large pieces of paneling. He's making a remarkable recovery, as is La Lande. There are so many projects unfolding and so much good food that my head is spinning. And yes, blame the egg nog for high spirits. ;)
That was the best ending ever...hilarious! I think Vivienne is so down to earth and has a great sense of humor. 🎉 That Gerry is such a flibbertigibbet and always on the move. I hope Santa and the other Elfin let him come back to Lalande in time for Christmas. Marie, the Santa Lucía buns look delicious, especially with that filling. 😊
Careful with those Paulownia trees! Not sure about your region, but they're aggressively invasive where I am. They're known to grow out of concrete and they produce many, many seedlings every season, rapidly spreading and overtaking forested areas.
Palomia throw a lot of seeds. Be ready for a lot of off-shoots. They grow very fast. They will lose all of their leaves at first frost. I had one upon upon a time.
I make my grandmother’s eggnog recipe every year as does my daughter. A tradition that’s been around a very long time! I’m 62! I use wild turkey 101 proof bourbon. I feel like the Turkey is appropriate because I take to our Thanksgiving and Christmas family dinners😀
I'm shy, so I've never commented before, but I just want to let you know how much I've enjoyed your videos over the last few years. They've added a bit of cheerfulness and escape as I've lost both my parents and had to adjust to a new life. Now, I'm preparing to move to Kansas and planning to build my dream house on the 525 acre farm I've inherited. Your channel has served as an example of how exiting a life one can build if one takes the time to really enjoy oneself. Merry Christmas!
So sorry for your loss but your new plans sound wonderful. I’m sure if you open your heart and home to many friends, you will soon have many happy occasions in the future.💐🎄🙏🏻
I planted a red Maple Inn my front 😂😂garden beside the Arbour In memory of my cousin who was British and died in her 50s from complications from a surgery
What a jolly Advent video! Love the St Lucia buns from afar. The new trees and huge hydrangeas all sound amazing. The Marquis cornicing sounds a puzzle and glad to see progress towards the Grand Salon works. And your night with Vivienne and her daughter was full of fun. 🎄🎄😂🤣❤️❤️
I have never liked hydrangeas. I'm 54 now but as a teenager, 40 years ago I had a newspaper round and it was always blindingly obvious where the elderly people lived as they'd have huge hydrangea bushes i'd have to push myself thru to put their newspapers in their letterboxes. Horrible things IMO of course.
If Davey said the bonus trees are "Jacarandas"??? They are from Australia. Gorgeous but do not plant near the pool. the drop and drop and drop those lovely purple flowers. a terrible mess and over a pool would be not a good idea. make sure when it drops flowers its in an area you don't mind
I think he said they were Pawlonia trees. They are beautiful. Jacaranda also has purple flowers but the two trees are different. We have both where I live. The flowers drop from both so you would not want a Pawlonia or a Jacaranda tree near a pool.
I love all the Christmas Diaries Vlogs…I just rewatched my all time favorite from 12/17/2020-you were singing carols with Philip and Cat and it was so beautiful and meaningful
That was fun! Could we have a copy of the recipe for the Philip Dish? It looked really interesting and I would like to try it. I think it would be nice with a roast of any sort. Thank you for the video! Have a lovely Sunday!
What is the story on the crown molding (coving) that Chris has been working on, was it there when you purchased La Lande or is it something that you added Stephanie?
I love when you hang with Vivienne and family , so much fun !!!!! I am still waiting to see her bathroom mural... She looks extra pretty tonight. When is Jerry back? He's gotta be there for Christmas !!!!
In addition to how delightful it was to watch all this. I have to tell you that I'm obsessed with that pen. A few things get me more excited than a really good pen and that one's beautiful. I don't think I'll be able to use your code for this year, but I certainly will keep it in mind for next year. Thank you for making advent extra special for me this year.
I have Liquid Amber trees and look forward to the beautiful fall color. It does have a spiked ball like seed pods but they are interesting and I use in bowl arrangements , they also provide a lot of seeds for birds.
You should've be in the cold. Your hair wont process. Your hair processes with heat from your scalp and the heat from indoors, sometimes under the hair dryer.😊❤

The last two vlogs have been the funniest in awhile. Thanks for the laughs....and Vivians face when Steph said that wasn't the Philip special 😂. Loved it!!!
Thank you for fixing the video (last night’s)was so thankful for it this morning
What a fun video this was! Vivienne and her daughter get along so well with Steph and Philip.
Those buns look amazing! I say you need to write a Leland cookbook!
Great idea
Always such a pleasure to see Brian - the gardener! ☺
I love the British accent of the spelling Gardner
The reason red maples are all over the west coast cities is that they come in brilliant deep reds, especially in the fall. They are a tender tree so do best on the west coast. Imagine a backdrop of green with splashes of red maple leaf foliage trees. It makes for spectacular falls out here.
I love Philip's Christmas 🎄 sweater!!! It had me laughing and smiling. Thanks for the fun Philip!
Jerry, firstly, you are our hero. The cabinets look great, Marie, you look fabulous and cheerful. I love Vivian and her daughter. Fun vlog again. I love Advent.
The double egg area looks like a vacant cartouche. I would put the chateau initials in that area.
And a good time was had by all…..(including us). 😁🎄🥂
lol, happy happy happy, thats awesome.
So good to see Annalise how are the boys❤
I have a red maple in my front yard. They are stunningly beautiful when the leaves turn in the fall.
There is something afoot. Sounds like so much fun, everyone seemed a little schnookered from the eggnog. I love it!
I suspect fresh peas would be more appetizing
Red maples are flaming in the autumn…the most exquisite firey red show to herald winter’s approach !!!❤
I have 3 & nothing is more beautiful in the fall!
Davey is one of the most intelligent people I have seen! He knows so much about plans and how to manuever them and grow and just know this is his profession, but such a wealth of information he carrries amazes me!

Nice seeing another Perthian in the comment section
Hilarious vlog! I adore Vivienne and Isabella!
Be very careful putting a liquid amber anywhere near the chapel or the chateau - they are notorious for having invasive roots - here in Australia they were a commonly planted street tree until they realised they were causing massive issues with pipes, sidewalks, roads and even foundations of houses nearby.
Or near where a pool would be!
Liquidambar is named "Copalme d’Amérique" in French.
Happy to see Phillip get his just desserts, and synchronistic battery operated sweater, apple peas, celebrating with three lovely women, culminating in his fiance's double entendre! Merry Christmas to Davy, it was wonderful to see him. Happy Advent.
Stephanie, I love that you are so real.
Enjoyed both of yesterdays vlogs, the silent and the sound vlog. You have such a sweet relationship with Dan. Brother and sister vibes.
The foxglove tree or jacaranda trees, are stunning and get BIG. They lay down a carpet of pale purple for about one week a year on the ground. But they get HUGE.
They will drop flowers in the pool, badly. They get VERY wide.
Stephanie and Phillip, such a fun and festive video! Thank you so much!! 🎄❤️
I love a red maple. Glad Nati said that about the buns as I was thinking the same thing. 😉
Love Annalise ❤ look forward to seeing the boys. Brian just is a gem. Sweet man. Team lalande folks are the best.😊
We have a few red maples in my yard. They are beautiful in the fall but can get quite large. Cheers from 🇨🇦.
Good evening from Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦
Good evening from Saskatchewan, Canada. 🇨🇦
Good evening from Calgary Alberta 🇨🇦
Chris, making our world a little less gnarly 😊
There is a white bark tree that peels and is quite tall and beautiful. A Sycamore tree.
As well as a white birch tree . But a white birch tree if laden with ice can break easy
And don't forget the copper beech tree somewhere out in a field where it can get huge and be admired from a distance.
Oh all the laughter warms my heart
The days leading up to Christmas are at least as enjoyable as Christmas Day!
Jacaranda! We have lots in Australia, stunning purple colour in our Spring/Summer and they can get huge! They also drop the flowers and leaves and make a huge mess but they are beautiful.

The Asian trees are gorgeous, but I will say that red maples are one of the prettiest maples, along with king crimson and sugar maples
So much joy and fun - love Phillips sparkly Christmas jersey.
One of Louis X1V favourite dishes was peas in a white wine/cream sauce. I can see Peas and Apples going well together.
Thanks for sending the silent video again, loved it! Loved today's vlog as usual! Well done
All I can say is, I do love watching these videos, you never fail to make me laugh.
Vivienne is so welcoming 🎄❤️
Where is Simon? We miss him.
The Red Maple will be stunning in the Fall
Marie is so lovely, I think she is the angel of LeLande🥰
That was the best ending ever...hilarious! I think Vivienne is so down to earth and has a great sense of humor. 🎉
That Gerry is such a flibbertigibbet and always on the move. I hope Santa and the other Elfin let him come back to Lalande in time for Christmas.
Marie, the Santa Lucía buns look delicious, especially with that filling. 😊
❤❤❤❤ just love watching our beautiful layland people ❤
Careful with those Paulownia trees! Not sure about your region, but they're aggressively invasive where I am. They're known to grow out of concrete and they produce many, many seedlings every season, rapidly spreading and overtaking forested areas.
My friend in New Zealand has a polonia tree 34 years old which is huge and when in flower is spectacular
Loved todays vlog as much as yesterday’s with sound! Lol
Yes , Stephanie, that north American tree is beautiful here in the north.
Paulownia tomentosa - we know them as Princess Tree or Empress Tree here in California.
Love our red maple here in Peru Illinois. The leaves in the fall are just beautiful. Liz
Palomia throw a lot of seeds. Be ready for a lot of off-shoots. They grow very fast. They will lose all of their leaves at first frost. I had one upon upon a time.
Love this episode! Davie is correct the red maple 🍁 is very common here in Canada 🇨🇦
Y’all, Steph just said they needed more impact in the garden..while standing next to a castle. ☺️ That’s why I love this channel.
I make my grandmother’s eggnog recipe every year as does my daughter. A tradition that’s been around a very long time! I’m 62! I use wild turkey 101 proof bourbon. I feel like the Turkey is appropriate because I take to our Thanksgiving and Christmas family dinners😀

So sorry for your loss but your new plans sound wonderful. I’m sure if you open your heart and home to many friends, you will soon have many happy occasions in the future.💐🎄🙏🏻
This was hilarious! Loved it 🥰
Loved yesterday’s episode and of course the Christmas party. The trees will be beautiful and I will miss Jerry and David at Christmas 😊❤
Red Maples are brilliant in autumn!
We have many red maples in Maryland
Red Maple are beautiful in the fall 🥰
This was a great vvideo again. Trees will be awesome.
And that fantastic dinner ...
XXX
Yves
Oh I can just "see"how this evening turned out........ what fun!!
Red Maple! You will LOVE it.
I really enjoyed last nights vlog. It was so peaceful. Well done Stephanie 😉👍❤️🥂
It might be the glass of wine I just had, but I now want to try peas and apple sauce. Sounds…not good, Philip, I must say 😂 but I’m curious 😂
I planted a red Maple Inn my front 😂😂garden beside the Arbour In memory of my cousin who was British and died in her 50s from complications from a surgery
I have one in my front yard. It turns red in the fall. I live in Iowa, the middle of America.
So lovely to see the Beautiful Annalise 🌹 Gerald leaving is very sad. Hopefully He will be going to South Africa to visit Isabel and Percy very 🎄❤️☃️
Or his own family. I remember them saying a few years back that he did that.
Merry Christmas everyone at Laland from Upstate New York. (Endicott)
Paulownia is invasive here in Western North Carolina where we live.
@ Perhaps it’s a taste that grows with age? 😂🤣
I look forward to the annual Advent daily vlogs!!!
Stephanie please consider Tannenberg Irises in your planting scheme around your chateau. They are fabulous.
I am gardner and lover of plants, I could listen to Davey all day.
From South America originally, not native to Australia, beautiful but messy
I think he said they were Pawlonia trees. They are beautiful. Jacaranda also has purple flowers but the two trees are different. We have both where I live. The flowers drop from both so you would not want a Pawlonia or a Jacaranda tree near a pool.
Jaccaranda will not survive the snow or heavy frost!
Yes... red maples all around. The colours are nice in the fall usually. But you need a lot of them to make a jug of maple syrup.
I love all the Christmas Diaries Vlogs…I just rewatched my all time favorite from 12/17/2020-you were singing carols with Philip and Cat and it was so beautiful and meaningful
I too remember it so well.👏🙏🏻🥰
Red maples spread everywhere here in Southern Ontario
That was fun! Could we have a copy of the recipe for the Philip Dish? It looked really interesting and I would like to try it. I think it would be nice with a roast of any sort. Thank you for the video! Have a lovely Sunday!
Its apple sauce with green peas plonked on top.
What is the story on the crown molding (coving) that Chris has been working on, was it there when you purchased La Lande or is it something that you added Stephanie?
Stephanie the cold air will stop the oxidation of your hair, hope you don't stay out there too long.😊
I love when you hang with Vivienne and family , so much fun !!!!! I am still waiting to see her bathroom mural... She looks extra pretty tonight.
When is Jerry back? He's gotta be there for Christmas !!!!
You and Dan are hilarious togehter, we need more of that joy!
The last 30 seconds were epic and hilarious!
You could make a paper clay something for the larger eggs, also wood you bend has many shapes and decorations for embellishments.
Can you plant the foxglove tree on the “island” in the lake so it looks beautiful over the water?
Davey is incredible!
Happy St. Lucia's day. ❤
Everytime I see Annaliese smile, I think about her cute little boys❣️
I have Liquid Amber trees and look forward to the beautiful fall color. It does have a spiked ball like seed pods but they are interesting and I use in bowl arrangements , they also provide a lot of seeds for birds.
The Liquidambar is called « Copalme d’Amérique" in French.
You should've be in the cold. Your hair wont process. Your hair processes with heat from your scalp and the heat from indoors, sometimes under the hair dryer.😊❤
Shouldn't
I love the red maples.....one of my favorites....and the Japanese maple too.
The foxglove, are beautiful in flower but the seed pods are awful. And they spread by root.
That’s a very happy advent 😂
✨🌺🌺🌺✨
I’ve been eating peas and applesauce since I was a child. It is delicious!
It is always sad when Jerry leaves. He is delightful
Wow love the trees
lovely buns❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
