I love how everyone manages to point out that "his hair changed during the climb" - and "the climbing looks easy" - but nobody seems to realise that it's a compilation of him climbing different routes on the same piece of wall, with the purpose of having enough good shots to create a cool video...
Come on man, don't be using logic like that... This is the internet, where people need an excuse to tear everything apart. The fact this is just a simple highlight video of Jason climbing, and people are acting like they've discovered some big conspiracy is hilarious.
Love the comments talking shit about Jason's skills when Alex Honnold and Jimmy Chin literally said that Jason is a great climber and has been doing it for more than 20 years
Upper body strength did not get Jason through this climb. Given the dudes size, he needs to utilise technique A LOT. Which he absolutely has. The man has been climbing forever, this is no more then a media stunt to pull views. observe the sweaty muscular dude ascend up a wall. I’m 99% sure Jason is capable of much harder routes, but for the situation he’s in are you really going to attempt something project level just for a short bit of footage? No, you go with something manageable with large dramatic moves fit for the job at hand.
He is a legit climber though. He's talked about his dirt bag days in a few interviews. This was clearly just for show though, meant to impress people who know nothing about climbing.
For shure he was taking steroids during that period. I can say it for shure by looking on his muscle structure and body fat level. Also I guess he use some like oxandrolon in lover dosage or vinstrol. Mny actors use this kinds of steroid to increase shape dor shooting
@@LeonfeedbI mean if you think his body looks like he takes steroids don’t ever go into a high school locker room. He has a clear high level of fat and nothing points out as steroid use, just a big guy with good genetics.
People talking about him changing hair styles and not realizing this was shot 10 times. Every time he got down, make up crew some refresment and then up he went again. Is the editing bad: yes. But damn well impressive how he's able to do what hes doing here with his weight.
His climb was alot more difficult due to his bodyweight, also your not seeing where he has to pause and clip In everytime he is at a draw. We dont know how often he gets to climb. So for everybody that is criticizing him for not climbing a 5.14 just be silent for a minute and remember that climbing isnt about the hardest thing in the world. Yeh im up near 230 and I'm 6,3 and climbing for large guy's isn't easy especially having a size 14 foot ..my mates 5,6 5,7 and the difference is he can use more of his hands and feet on grips rather than me using just my fingers and a little of my foot which in no way negates how hard it is for smaller guys ...I'm wayyy stronger than him but have to think my way through a climb more than him but thats why i love it ..nothing worth having is easy
@@joys8634 Depending on how hard the route is, it might not. Climbing properly, you can take a lot off of your arms with using your legs correctly. Momoa has been climbing for some time, so assuming his technique is sound, it's actually a lot less of a strain on his upper body than you would think. However, it's true that his size 'fucks' him quite a bit when climbing routes. There's a reason most climbers are on the lighter side.
@@joys8634 Regardless of weight, climbing with proper technique takes a lot of stress off of your arms. It's much more about technique than it is about upper body strength.
@@joys8634 How do you measure strength objectively though? Wouldn't relative strength be the best? Do you measure strength in only one area? There's so many variables that making an assumption that Momoa is stronger than any climber out there is pretty wild.
@@joys8634 Again, how do you measure this 'objectively'. Because just flat out saying it doesn't make it right. Same goes for your assumption, there are most likely plenty of climbers that are as buff as him. After all, he's a climber himself and he really isn't some one of a kind specimen.
@@joys8634 Oh I know what objectively means. However, unless you measure it in some way, you'll never get an objective result. You telling me you 'think', not 'feel', doesn't really make it any more objective. I think that he couldn't beat every climber there is. So, now we have two 'objective' thoughts. No clue mate, you see, the world is big. And Momoa is not the only climber of his size. Thus, there are climbers of his size. You see where I'm going with this?
