  • Mark makes umbrella pots, elegant tall table vases, sentinels and more by first making the bases and the tops - and the next day piecing them together. In this video he narrates as we watch how we puts together the two pieces to create an Umbrella Pot. On the following day he will add a rim, then the decoration.
    This technique is derived from Burlon Craig's practice of capping pots that he first saw him do when he first visited Burlon in 1983. Mark has perfected this technique over nearly four decades of making pots at his own pottery in Pittsboro, NC.
