Hi, Taken a look at the text code regarding the vn fd file and I have realize that there are a lot of ref columns reffering to overclock menus with the value of 0x0 meaning they're off, maybe if someone changed them all to 0x1 in a modified bios, we would be able to access the advanced options.

So are we not actually updating the bios, only using a file out of that bios that we actually have on our computer already? This may have been where I made the problem. I downloaded the most recent bios which was two point something and did the procedure based on that. Is that maybe why I'm stuck in a automatic repair loop?
Just saw this but have you tried letting it go all the way? Can you log into the BIOS? There might be something else going on. If something really did go seriously wrong, your machine most likely would not POST.

@@Meanpooh thank you so much , so how i update bios ?
Why does it not show the menu on the pressing the f12 part?
Hi,
Taken a look at the text code regarding the vn fd file and I have realize that there are a lot of ref columns reffering to overclock menus with the value of 0x0 meaning they're off, maybe if someone changed them all to 0x1 in a modified bios, we would be able to access the advanced options.
I looked at that too. The problem is being able to access the feature. Enabling the wrong bit could cause your machine to not boot which is risky. If there was a dual BIOS option on this machine, i'd do it myself.
Hey, Meanpooh. I was asking if we can just use the Throttle stop, or the other things you used are important to make the throttle stop work?
Yes you can just use Throttlestop if you are not locked out.
@@Meanpooh how can I know if I am not locked out. I have the nitro 5 i5 10300H
Try undervolting. If you cannot adjust the offsets then you are locked out.
Thanks for the shoutout :D
You Deserved It!
Thx! Vídeo maravilhoso, tenho um Nitro 5 i5 10300H e funcionou perfeitamente.😉
Ei! Você fez o procedimento à risca? Nos exatos números que ele colocou no ThorttleStop?

My BIOS is V2.06 do i have to downgrade my BIOS to proceed?
So are we not actually updating the bios, only using a file out of that bios that we actually have on our computer already? This may have been where I made the problem. I downloaded the most recent bios which was two point something and did the procedure based on that. Is that maybe why I'm stuck in a automatic repair loop?
Just saw this but have you tried letting it go all the way? Can you log into the BIOS? There might be something else going on. If something really did go seriously wrong, your machine most likely would not POST.
@@MeanpoohI'm not sure what you mean by letting it go all the way. It just loads me to the blue menu screen with the available selections such as "continue" "use a device" "troubleshoot" & "turn off your PC"
I have tried troubleshoot, startup repair and it says "couldn't repair your PC"
I am still able to get into the bios. It shows still using v1.10
The interesting thing is that the automatic startup repair started the very first time I hit F12, before I made any changes at all..
I just noticed that the F12 boot menu was disabled by default. I enabled it and used it, but still having the loop
**Ok, nevermind... For whatever reason, this is what worked and stopped it, and yes the voltage is now adjustable:
I went into the boot manager and selected the second of the 2 windows boot options and it just went back to normal... Maybe it was trying to boot from my internal HDD instead of the NVME?
👍
hi. can i do this on bios v2.06? or should i downgrade the bios? thanks!
u can do it with v2.06
When is run the bios.exe file it says error the version of rom file is the same as bios
I have v.2.06 please help
what about if i already have the latest version of BIOS ?
I checked for BIOS v2.06 and I can confirm that the setup_var is the same as in the video:
setup_var CpuSetup 0xDA 0x0
I tried to do it on the Nitro 5 i7 11800H, in Offset 0xda is: 0x2d , I didn't want to go any further due to doubts. Would the second command be the same?
Hello Mr. Meanpooh i am back, can i ask a question ? today i am find out the new BIOS version update 2.03 for acer Nitro AN-515-55 (2020), and the headline name is "1.Update power sw parameter. 2.Update Discrete VGA Qboot define." is this update good for Nitro 5 2020? or it just make worst the performance laptop?
I would not update the BIOS if your machine is working fine. It can "sometimes" introduce problems.
@@Meanpooh oh okay, thx for your advice👍😁
No problem.
Tried throttle stop on my 9th gen intel and it never works
same
Acer An515, bios 2.06, windows11 - all works.
👍
I have the same exact laptop as you and when you said to press F12 it went into "preparing automatic repair" I thought this was normal, so I went in and selected "use a device" then selected "EFI USB Device" and it took me to the same "grub" screen. I did everything you said to do, and I'm stuck in automatic repair loop and it won't stop. Any ideas?
he said F2
Can I do it with exfat flash drrive ?
Hey man is it possible to do this on an acer predator computer, for example do i just follow the same steps you did or will i have to do something different
Yes.
Hi. Cool! Is it possible for this model to increase the thermal package(TGP) of the GPU (3060-3070-3080)?
Nope.
@@Meanpooh what a pity. the fact is that we cannot pick up a bios from other models (for example, an asus or a gigabyte with 105-115 watts) that would normally work with nitro. they all incorrectly indicate power , thereby driving the logic of the GPU crazy. At the same time, this trick works on other laptops (for example, asus).
This will only keep happening, the more people complain about having heavy laptops and wanting them thin. Some people would have never survived the 90's.
Thank you so much!!! , subscribed
Thank you too!
Does it works on Spin 3 1065g7?
Bro I did as u said but the boot menu doesn't show the usb HDD part after ejecting. I did all that bios stuff and copied the grub64 thing into the usb. What do I do now. Is the laptop in danger? Should I repeat the process? Can I reverse any changes or something?
Dude pls help me pls
Meanpooh please reply
Hey man, I have a full time job and I do sleep. You're not the only one needing help. The only thing I can tell you is that if you get into the menu and you don't see the drive then,
A: Something is going on with the USB drive.
B: You didn't put the file in the correct folder
C: Corruption
If you can't get into the menu then there is something in your BIOS preventing it from loading at BOOT.
@@Meanpooh yh I know I'm so sorry for troubling. Would it be ok if I start the whole thing all over again?

hi, meanpooh your work is awesome. I have an Asus f15 fx506li ooooh man this CPU runs really hot and is always thermal throttling under load. I've found the overclocking lock in the bios file in the same place u showed. I just wanna know how much is the risk of this progress? if it's done correctly. I'm a student and I don't have much money to repair the machine but I need to undervolt this .thank u
There is some risk if you change the wrong address. This is not a BIOS update but just toggling certain options on and off. I did try this on an Asus A15 and all went well for a friend. ua-cam.com/video/sQ1d6vVzk28/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Meanpooh

Hello I'm newbie, does my cpu voltage will be back to normal if I completely close the throttlestop application? Because I want to undervolt my cpu only when gaming and stop undervolting when I'm doing normal task.
Yes. Close the app. Shut down the computer and reboot.

did u manage to fix this ?
i found the solution you just need the latest version of the tool
Do you keep secure boot enabled all the time after you’re done or should you disable it
Enabled all the time.
@@Meanpooh thanks, I don’t want to be a bother, I’ll pay for your time if needed but after getting stable -115mv my CPU wattage is super low now, from 45 to 11 on gta and 15-20 down to 0.5-3w idle after undervolt, this seems weird, this won’t be a problem?
Do you have your Power Profile set to Balanced?
can I do the same in a HP Pavilion 15-dk10000 (8VD47AV)? it has the same processor and graphic card
It may be possible as many people has had success with other brands of machines.

does this work with acer nitro 5 - i7 10750h - rtx 2060 ?
can i just use throttlestop?
Please tell me. Will this method work on MSI Gf75?
It may. May people in the comments have gotten it to work with different brands.

keep getting an error asying msvcp120.dll and msvcr120.dll missing when launching ifr extractor. INstalling C++ didnt help. Help please!
If the 2013 redistributable didn’t work, I have no idea what the problem is.
I did everything exactly as in the video, the undervolting was unlocked, but now, when exiting the games, the laptop freezes and I have to restart it, and also noticed that the frequency is kept within the maximum(4-4.3 Mhz) even when the processor is not loaded, what could be the problem?
Ease up on your undervolt.
