- QPR drew 2-2 with Norwich City in this EFL Championship game at a packed Loftus Road. However the ticket price was expensive and the seat was tight and uncomfortable. Should they be charging this much?

You sat in the gold section Matt, the silver section averages about £25. Me and my son are season ticket holders in the safe standing section and it costs me £60 per month which for the 2 of us averages around £26 per game however my son bought a beer and a coke at ht and it came to £10.75 which I think is a bit excessive 😢 Also agree with the stewards they haven’t got a clue Matt 😞 The reason we moved to the safe standing area was exactly what you said, leg room. 😮
I do like the safe standing areas, all grounds should have them with at least 50% capacity, thanks for your comments 👍🏻⚽️
We’re broke, hence the prices. Costs so much to run the stadium but can’t find anywhere to move to because the area already so crowded and expensive to buy land.
Owners lose money every month despite good crowd most weeks. Championship not really sustainable unless you’re getting parachute payments or you are a one club city in a decent size stadium eg Sunderland.
QPR are staying up
That’s a fair point and a decent summary, price of land and availability in West London is a huge problem 💰💸💶
The hat guy ... That's Ben ('Grandad') and it's a Moroccan hat. He takes some stick. You can always see his Moroccan flag draped in tv footage. I'm sat a couple of seats away. He's as likely to point at the home fans around him for not singing ("all free tickets!")! Players family tend to sit there. The main drama was Elijah Dixon-Bonner's mum's glasses were knocked off when we equalised and were teetering out of reach on the edge of the roof above the paddock. (Elijah came on in the second half). It's the only section you can guarantee a front row with legroom for my long legs. Otherwise my knees act as ear mufflers for whoever is in front. £500 odd quid for a season ticket is not too bad, except it's been hell in the past year being 14 seats away from celebrating away fans almost every home game. We're on the up though under Marti. You Rs.
See him everytime I do QPR away. He gets a lot of stick but I think most away fans respect him for his unwavering support. He is literally always there. Fair play.

I love it at Rangers! I was in the Loftus End safe standing earlier in the season, paid £34 all in. Bit of a restricted view, but I'd still take it above other more modern grounds I've been to. It's oozes character, like a posh Luton - nice little supporters bar, great food smells, a crazy mix of entrances and exits around houses, parks and passageways. Bit pricey, but it's not that much more than quite a few League Two tickets

Unfortunately clubs mainly employ just “normal” people for stewarding and have no idea! I’m a derby season ticket holder and every game there are new stewardess who generally can’t speak English it makes no sense?!

I agree with your comment about the pricing. I'm a lifelong R's fan and they've priced out the genuine fan. I think you did pay the Gold pricing band, but even Silver costs 30 pound and as you say, once you add on the booking fee and add that all up with general expenses for the day (travel etc) it's a massive amount of money for the average hard working bloke. I have 3 teenage boys and there's no chance I can afford to take us all these days. Good luck once again on your journey, and i wish you and the Gills all the best over the next couple of years. 👍

Good review, I'm a season ticket holder at QPR and agree prices are too high for those that are not, think £40 including booking fee is too steep. Pleased you liked our ground but we all know we need a new one, but remains to be seen if that will ever happen, at the moment priority is to remain in the Championship.

Most the stewards nowadays have a chip on their shoulder. Only power trip they get as most will be dead end jobs and once given a bit power they will abuse it. It’s sad that humanity seems to be in self destruct mode.

A club that is struggling, yet the fans this season especially have turned up in their numbers with very little to cheer, a packed LR is a special place to play on a big game day, not many like it
Hi Matt I’m a Norwich fan. You are in a better position than me judging costs of tickets. But I thought £40 was about right for a Championship game in London if you buy a one off seat. The obstructed seat was a bit of a downer i admit. QPR has the best kit in the league, thats probably an extra fiver for a start. 😂

@@neilmc59MK yes I don’t know what’s going on with that kit. Imo you have to careful with the Yellow and Green. We have had some nightmarish home designs. Keep it simple. It’s a distinctive combo without all the extra BS. That pinkish away kit last year was a disgrace. Who ever signed off on that needs to be sent to Ipswich for a year.

We were 15 and returned to Carlisle at 01:00 hrs surrounded by Leeds United fans from across Cumbria on their way back from reeking havoc in Bournemouth.

White City stadium was in one of the steptoe and sons films. The one with the greyhound. It was also featured in the TV series Budgie, starring Adam Faith in the early 70s.

There’s no leg room in any seat in the ground. Been going for 40+ years. Be better off in the rail seating. Seats don’t have to be £40. Can get in for around the £30 mark if you take your time selecting your seat.

Every year I go I hear of someone who’d never cause any trouble not being allowed in.

Mate of mine here in Berlin used to go to Hertha when they were in the Bundesliga last season. This season they wanted 60 Euros for the Zweite Bundesliga. He no longer goes, and watches the Ice Hockey as they play twice at home every 2 weeks, and its more value for money than football. You payed 40 quid for QPR in that delapadated stand. Daylight robbery. Football is slowly pricing itself out for casual visitors, but not everybody can go to every home game, when they play at such crazy times, on a friday, saturday, sunday or even a monday. However, all the time people pay, clubs will get away with ripping off their fans. Great video as usual Matt. UTG

Take a look at the site "Turdtown" Mind you on their Kent video, Gillingham, Chatham and Margate were in the top 3 Turdtowns lol, along with Ramsgste and Sheerness. Good that you left there mate
I've been outside Loftus Road and went into the club shop, bought myself one of those "retro" kits from the early 1980s when they were sponsored by Guinness. When I go to the Middlesbrough matches it's £38 to watch them and that is sitting in the South Stand behind the goal.

Had a discussion with someone about ticket prices at QPR and the point that came out of it was that everything in London is more expensive. But FFP doesn’t make any allowance for that, so ticket prices have to be higher.

@@mattthegroundhopper9242 unfortunately to comply with FFP in the Championship is extremely difficult without parachute payments, to comply in London where running costs, wages etc are more expensive is virtually impossible. So a club has to try to maximise match day. My Season ticket in the Loft is very reasonable but on the day tickets are expensive but from the away games that I go to, not out of line with some others elsewhere in the country. Most QPR fans realise our financial situation and also appreciate that they’ve tried to look after the loyal fans.

That's absolutely luxury! Cheapest Norwich season ticket is £535 if you renew. If you're a new buyer it's £612!

me and my grandad both have season tickets near that area but when we didn’t it was £18 per person and to be honest i don’t think it is that expensive and we have a great view

Lol picked moat expensive section too. I took my son and his brother to the bournemouth game for example was 28 quid for the 3 of us combined. Also you gotta remember its W12, round the corner from westfield. Its not gonna be as cheap as plymouth or somewhere bang up north lol

Hasn’t changed at all in 40 years. Stopped going 20 years ago. Got fed up with the rubbish facilities.Even 20 years ago it was very outdated. QPR have a loyal following of 12000 . But if they need to attract new fans or Neutral fans who just want to watch a match. They need to move to a new stadium. People paying £40 odd quid deserve a good view and ample leg room.
There are cheaper seats but my ticket was very expensive with no special conditions, ie free programme etc 🤷♂️

40 quid is great value given I paid an airfare and cab ride on top of that just to get there. Visited Loftus Road straight from the plane after a 24 hour flight from Australia and it was the best experience ever. The fans were great the atmosphere was amazing the ground staff were friendly, just like I remembered it 30 years ago. And yes the superstore is the best I picked up a 92/93 retro shirt.
