I love my pair of AAP3's, I've had them for almost 2 years now and they haven't missed a beat. Their not as fast as my vaporfly 2's but do better for long distances when your legs get tired, the rocker is perfect for turning over the legs when your cooked. You definitely don't need to save these for race day I have over 500km in mine and still train in them regularly.
We need some of those Hobby Jogger caps downunder here in Australia- 90000 of us running this weekend in Sydney’s City to Surf race could use a cap as cool as that!
AAP3 have been my favorite marathon shoe to date. I picked up a pair a few weeks ago on Adidas site for $113! Probably will use in Berlin but testing the Cielo X1 and I have to say I'm really impressed with them. Just wish they were lighter.
Puma grip is so grippy it’s so good when the road is wet but I feel like it’s slowing me down when it’s dry. Also durability (on the deviate elite at least) is so bad compared to continental that is much thinner.
My favourite running shoe! Works well for all distances and on the speedier side for paces. LightStrike Pro gets better and better over time. I just wish the outsole would last as long. I am on my second pair. First pair lasted nearly 1000k. I am in a quandary right now as to buy another pair of the 3s or wait for the 4 in the fall.
It’s gotta be Cole Rocket because he took off at the end🚀 Shout out to Yared Nuguse as well. US track athletes are killing it, I’m really enjoying the Olympics this year.
Another banger video, just wanted to put on your radar the Asics GT-2000 12's from last year finally went down in price if you want to keep up the stability shoe grind cause right now I"m debating between those and the 860's.
the Evos are so sick! And yes, it looks like the adios pro 4’s are going to have the same rocker at the front like the evos. I was looking at leaked pictures of them today.
Just discovered your videos and love it! Saw you live in Charlotte and I just moved here a few not sh ago from Australia! If you ever do a trip run and something would love to join 👌
I have all 3 of the versions and V1 is the best of them and has the best upper..I still take it for a run..for me it was the smoothest of them..V2 was good for shorter races, but I broke the rods in 2 different prs..V3 upper was terrible and something about the midsole made it feel like I was running uphill..they are very durable, but I get hot spots under the forefoot for anything over 10mi..a few easy runs usually helps me get over a cold/sinus/allergy and I think the fresh air and blood flowing helps purge the system..keep on keeping on..😊
The upper is a nightmare for me too, and i get a bruised nail every time i run more than 15k on mine. Other than that.. I enjoy these very well, they feel stable and do not hurt my ankles
Socks: I could not agree more. I've never had rubbing issues in the dozens of shoes I've used. I wear feetures exclusively. No issues, plus they have a lifetime warranty.
Here's an interesting observation. The secondary foam on my Boston 12 pair (after 300 miles) has collapsed significantly, from 4 to 7 mm measured from the midfoot to the heel. The LS Pro foam also appears to be compressed, but minimally. Even after 300 miles, the shoes look great, both upper and the outsole are almost new. But here's the caveat, due to the permanent foam compression the drop has become 0 or even negative. This is killing my soleus muscle and I got shin pain too. Also, the AP3 pair is arriving today. Fire baby!
I don't train by heart rate typically and the coros can be off a lot of times but looks like it was actually accurate yesterday! All the data is here strava.app.link/r6claeiFTLb was running most of the faster reps around 160 to 165 bpm, about 80% of max
Am I a heavy runner? 65kg here. Ran 3:04 marathon in the AP3, one of my fav racer. AP3 felt cushioned and responsive all the way through. Got some rubbing on the medial wall but nothing bad
The Hyperion Max also needed significant break-in time; 75+ miles for me. I really haven't noticed any change in the ride of the SL2 after 125 miles though. It started soft and has remained so. I started thinking about volume and intensity with weight training although I include frequency as well. I try to account for volume, frequency, and intensity of workouts, while also considering other factors that affect my energy level. How's my sleep, diet, level of exhaustion from work? How strenuous are my weightlifting workouts and how many miles am I running/biking? I think learning how our bodies respond is part of the process and it's constantly changing as these external factors change.
The upper issue tends to only happen to me when I’m using the shoe for a few days in a row. It develops a hot spot on my foot that gets repeatedly irritated. This happened with both the AP3 and PXS2
I have been testing this shoe (3:28 Marathoner, 160lbs., 54age, never run a marathon in a plate). I liken it to my Superblasts but it has a little more zip and better rocker. My other daily trainer is the Hoka Mach 5. This shoe feels similar to my trainers but it is a better cruiser. I like shoes a bit firmer. Asics Sky Paris is super unstable to me, hated it. Vaporfly 3 is pretty good...little loud, and less stable than Adios Pro 3. Couldn't feel leverage in the Vaporfly like Adios. Curious...will I like your highly recommended Saucony Pro 4? I hated the Saucony Triumph 20 for its lack of stability.
First of all, keep on recovering hope to get back to normal. Second, have you hear about the puma magnify nitro tech 2? Wondering what is the difference with the magnify nitro 2. Since you've been trying all this max stack shoes, might consider taking a look? 😁
i did it by feel but it ended up being about equal time working and recovering. so the 800s were in about 3:15 and recoveries were also around three minutes
I've heard whispers it's not until spring 2025. Their elites have the Evo so there's no rush to get the pro 4 out - the pics that have leaked recently look production ready though and their CEO posted on social recently wearing, so it could def be sooner

yepthe ap3 has horrible upper for me, first 6km and I had blister, it's ok now that it has broken in but I'm not sure if I'm ever gonna take it for longer runs.
I need advice from the GOAT of mileage. I'm trying to get my mileage up from 45 miles per week to over 60. I notice a trend of my HRV going down below my baseline for the last 3 days. I could probably benefit from a rest day but on the other hand my mileage is going to suffer. I'm still crushing workouts but at what point do I need to rest so I don't overtrain without jeopardizing this house of bricks I'm laying down?
Great question - I always take a down day when I'm feeling extra beat up. I don't look at the metrics too much but if I'm feeling really tired and legs just aren't moving how they should, I'll do relaxed mileage instead of a workout. So I'd try doing a few days of shorter runs and relaxed runs to get a nice reset. Maybe take a day completely off if you need to, but I've been able to recover by going super relaxed. You can keep the mileage where it is and bring the intensity way down for a few days to a week. I've found that 3 weeks on (some workouts/harder runnign), 1 week off works best for me
@@RohanHammett that’s fire! I work at a running shoe store and anything that is returned and used once, I can purchase for just about $30 USD. Just so happen the running shoe gods were in favor

So good that you don’t race in them; VF2 imo is outdated shoe

this my fav shoe atm, doesn't hurt like other plate shoes
My fave racing shoe , if I could get it cheap consistently I would use for tempos and workouts.
I have two Boston's 12 and they are very very good.
The outsole is pretty good but the winner in that category by a huge margin is Puma Grip.
Puma grip is so grippy it’s so good when the road is wet but I feel like it’s slowing me down when it’s dry. Also durability (on the deviate elite at least) is so bad compared to continental that is much thinner.
