- Could these be teasers for the new ultimate weapons?! A quick breakdown of the Viper weapons available for viewing in the newly release Dawntrail Benchmark. Some of them may point to some VERY interesting implications and maybe even some teases for all new Ultimate Weapons going forward! Check them out an let me know what you think!

I genuinely hope they do go back and add new weapons to old content. I've always been salty that my DNC and SGE weren't given weapons from some of my favorite sets.
I really think these old raid weapons are a good sign of that!
I really wanted an Ifrit Gunblade or Ifrit Scythe...

I do remember in an interview about new job weapons being added to older ultimates and Yoshi P really wanted to and agreed that they should get weapons as well. I can't remember if he confirmed it would happen at some point or just something they would want to see in the future, but if a lot of these have some base models from where the ultimate weapons were tied from.... this might be it!0
To me it makes total sense to retroactively add models for all the ultimates for every job going forward. The nature of the content makes them theoretically always relevant, so why not always have rewards for every job?

Wuick little note: RPR and SGE also got Crystarium Weapons next to the Cryptlurker ones, so there is a possibility that we might get Viper Lunar Envoy Swords and a Picto Lunar Envoy brush.
Oh and maybe, just maybe, we get a vfx upgrade for both Credendum Weapons from Aloalo Savage, if we are on the topic of visual rewards 👀

They really need to have one of the curved swords flipped when conjoined otherwise it will look so awkward to have two blades with the sharp end facing down. like the grand company weapons
So I'm not the only one who noticed this. It would definitely make sense to have one flipped, otherwise a backhanded swing would be bonking the enemy with the dull side.

I don't care if Shiva was part of the Phoenix rotation or the Bahamut transformation I just want her in there
It would be super cool for there to be a difference of rotation between Bahamut > Phoenix and Phoenix > Bahamut. It would make the job a lot more engaging and add some challenge to managing the rotation that is totally absent right now!
I really hope that is an omega weapon but honestly it could be solution 9 weapon or something. I wont expect anything to be safe.
Having no expectations is often the best move!
These gear sets are also seen in most of the other benchmark tests if im not mistaken so it's likely a legacy attribute!
so if the gear set is out of the 80 to 100 range, its likely that the accompanying weapon is a leveling or special circumstance(PVP etc).
biggest hope for retroactive ultimate weapons here is the Omega set's weapon. it' breaks a few conventions of the Omega weapon line, so i think it's might be a solution 9 kinda weapon. the rest i think don't line up with the other ultis even a little bit lol but who knows, tea is a perfect example of lazy ulti weapons (Samurai, Red Mage, Dancer, and Gunbreaker)

I think that the Omega weapon and the Dreadwyrm weapon are both super similar to other base weapons, so I'm gonna keep huffing my hopium. 😂

I think they always mentioned here and there about adding newer job weapons to old ultimates and if they are doing it at all, the graphics update is the perfect excuse for it. I'm personally excited for all the mentioned in between weapons, dungeon and crafted have pretty cool aesthetic so I can't wait to see those! Then there's lvl9x ones for each job and the final job+tomes at 100, who knows what they've been cooking up in the new world!

Edenmorn weapon isn't new. That is going to be our Ultimate series, this has happened with Gunbreaker/Dancer/Reaper/Sage and the Stormblood raids when the ultimate dropped during Endwalker.
In past expansions (level 80) the artifact gear you get from Shadowbringers is the same as what you would get from Endwalker. So that theory on the scimitars is unlikely.
The Ironworks weapon does not match or share the same design themes of the other items, so I think that is definitely a read herring. The spiked spines on the swords reminds me of the Ktsiseos weapons.

Maybe! I certainly didn't mean to assert that the eden weapon is unusual, as it's expected that we get Eden weapons for the jobs starting at 80, along with Cryptlurker/Crystarium/Deepshadow tome weapons.
If the older ones turn out to be actually based on those older sets is when the theory becomes interesting. Naturally, I could be completely wrong and they're just random weapons.

I love being a reaper main and getting absolutely nothing for clearing 3/5 ultimates :) I don't feel like we're getting the weapons given their current track record, but I hope I'm wrong on this.

super normal for the new jobs to get the tome/raid weapon from the series that matches their starting level
rdm/sam getting ironworks and assorted trial/raid stuff for level 50 content
gnb/dancer getting scaevan/omega stuff on release
rpr/sge getting aug crystarium/edenmorn

Yeah, it's that going further down the set list that makes it unusual. I fully expect them to get ShB/EW relics, but seeing these other weapons that fit with the older sets is the unexpected part.
Edenmorn one actually looks nothing like what edenmorn weapons look like, it's very monochromatic without a hint of flowers or purple, it's more than likely a ktiseos weapon and we won't see the redesigned ones until 7.1
We shall see!

if the genji weapon is from stormblood i could see that getting an ultimate variant for the ultimate after eden which will likely be xenos/shinryu ultimate.
Definitely possible! That one feels super out of place, so it'll be interesting to see what it becomes
@@sharlayanforum I sorta agree, I was speculating about a Four Lords or Shinryu/Zenos ultimate fight before they announced Eden's... Feels weird to me that they would skip over Stormblood's 2nd Ultimate and then go back, though. But then again, why include a Genji Viper weapon if not as a base ultimate? Perhaps a base for the Empyrean weapon in HoH?

It's not too dissimilar, especially with the large amount of gold. We shall see!
you know watching this video i thought this is definitely something that could likely happen. then i thought to view it from SE's POV and i also came to the conclusion that they could just be adding it into the game as testament to the graphics update theyre so proud of which would honestly be so fucking shitty lmao.
if scenario 2 is the case then ppl will bitch and they will implement it later into the expansions cycle to give the impression that they are "listening" and all will be forgiven even though the most logical approach to adding these items is to give other jobs ultimate variants too.
deep dungeons have them and so should ultimates and if the argument is that "deep dungeons have to have them because of X" then my response is "ultimates need to have them because of Y"
either way i have a couple of tomes so heres to the hopium!!!
I genuinely can't fathom a reason why they shouldn't go back and make weapons for every job for every ultimate. It seems silly to not have it. If I can play the job in the content I should get a reward for that job

Because I did my UWU suffering. I don't want to go back. lol
To me, since the nature of ultimates makes them theoretically evergreen, there's absolutely zero reason to not always have as many ultimate weapons as there are fights for every single job with the exception of maybe limited jobs.
But also suffer more. 😈

It’s not unusually for them to add lvl80 edenmorne weapons as Reaper and Sage got them as well
Yes it's not unusual but not for that reason.
SGE and RPR start at 70 so they get SB and ShB weapons (and obviously EW bc they released in that expansion).
Viper and Pictomancer then get ShB and EW weapons (+ DT weapons).
Reason being that you will or at least could use those weapons for levelling.
The weird part is them getting omega/alexander/etc weapons. They wont use it in levelling and, until now, they won't be used as a base for the ultimate version of the fights. SGE/RPR doesnt have a TEA weapon, the base for those was a step for the lvl 60 relic. Neither a UCOB weapon, the base is the dreadwyrm weapons.
Tl;dr until now new jobs got:
- Weapons of their starting level onwards, so 80.
- Weapons of the ultimates they released with (so if for some reason 7.3 ultimate is shinryu, we could have expected shinryu weapons for viper and pictomancer).
The last one seems to be changing based on the weapons existing on the benchmark.
Precisely what Blue said! It's not unusual for the new jobs to get *some* weapons, but it's very unusual to see them get weapons for sets that are well below their starting level ranges.
The last raid tier of the old expansion get a set, that's normal, it's not normal to get a set for a raid tier from 2 expansions ago
That being said I don't think that's edenmorn, edenmorn weapons have purple on them with a flower, we likely won't see the actual ones until 7.1... assuming they use those as the ult weapons of course.
they already confirmed that they want to increse the amount of rewards by 1.5 times i think and with lvl 100 potentialy being the max amount of lvls it would be plausible that they also plan on revisiting the older Ultimates and tune them up to lvl 100 jobs like they do with Unreal Trials
I'm not sure about them tuning up the old ones, but I definitely think they should add weapons for every job since they are always MINE and are theoretically always relevant
@@sharlayanforum true they are MINE but becous of job changes the older ones got pretty easy on the dmg side for example you need to hold dmg on garuda, halfe of ifrit can be skipped in UWU and in Ucob Twintania has skipped parts Nael too and in Phase 3 bahamut DMG check is non existing to the point that Deathcob is a thing and in TEA we have Doll skipp so updating them to lvl 100 could make them more challangeing
