True, It’s all tasteful but I’m up to make something that will make old men at Monaco weep tears. A pure bred SpeedNSX, a absolute no nonsense car, using that reliable engine no billet this or that. The NSX engine at JGTC made about 500hp at 3.5 liters, which is awesome because that V6 sounds wonderful and of course reliable compared to any other V6. So all carbon, because aluminum is great however with AI designed parts (Czinger style) we can save a lot of weight whilst having ton of strength.
Was just going to leave the same comment! haha! and yes, thank you Matt, it's greatly appreciated. Plus who wants to clean a cyclist off your bumper that's no fun. :p
+ColoradoNative I agree I'm a cyclist and I have so much sand in my vagina that I build sandcastles out of it. I realized that all of my bike rides were making me turn into a woman so I bought a crotch rocket and now I have the biggest cock ever! thank you and I love you! and that's not the vagina talking.
I have more fun in an '05 V6 sedan than most people do in their brand new cars. Throttle cable, no ABS, no traction control, lightweight. Fuck the tech. This NSX is pure driver experience that you can not find easily anymore, which is very sad.
+Michael Felchlin Of course its slower lol, the car is 150k, any car that expensive should be faster. But the NSX was always supposed to be an affordable "supercar". This new one isn't even an NSX anymore
+Michael Felchlin Theyre collectors cars, of course they'll retain value. Its not about the bargain, yea its a good bargain, but its about the price. 1991 NSX started at $60k, by 2004 it was $90k. It should've stayed RWD with a stick-shift transmission IMO.
+Michael Felchlin And I don't doubt that it is. But all these new cars that are full of tech have limited driver involvement, which is why so many people love a car like this.
+Brent Moore At 21 I've decided that my 2 wheeled girlfriend and my 4 wheeled one are more consistent and rewarding that one that has legs and stuff.... Especially 2 wheels that feeling of flying just makes you giddy on a regular basis.
Not sure how Cali does it but antique plates only allow you to drive to and from car shows. If you want to daily an antique you would need regular plates.
In MS and TN also I believe, the antique car plate can be used on any private vehicle 25 years old or older, for any use, and costs a one-time fee of $25 with no renewal required.
It still looks pretty modern, thats probably the most impressive about it. I never look at it and think, oh that car is 25 years old. ^^ Lovely machine! Amazing work my Clarion builds!
This generation NSX is just so smartly designed, the presentation is simple but the detail in the design is remarkable. The next generation NSX is one of my all time favorite cars. That BestMotoring video of Gan-san running his NSX-R against Lamborghini's and Ferrari's is legendary...
230k Miles on it?! Damn someone put some miles on that. I love when you see cars like this driven. Would have liked to see it with black leather. Still, its a beautifully build NSX.
This is the best way to start your morning! I love this car! The NSX is been my dream car! You made my day with your review thanks man! Good video as always!

These are my favorite types of cars ever. The combination of refinement and comfort-ability, y'know, quiet, good seats, loud speaker system AND badass spors card. Reminds me kinda sorta of the singer 911.
One Take is one of the best if not the best show about car enthusiasts and their cars love it! I really hope there will be a Supra MK3 on the show one day :P
Really appreciated the addition of the turn over with some revs and the fly-bys to transition during your cuts. I miss the high production value videos, but I understand why you're doing these. I'm just glad to see all the improvements too.
I've always wanted an NSX, and I am close to finally purchasing one in a few more years, and I must say after all the videos and ones I've seen in person this might be my favourite build, and looking NSX. Amazing video Matt!
The overall shape of the first generation NSX is so damn sexy. It has more of a low and wide, long and lean look to it compared to the 2017 NSX. The 2017 somehow looks a little more stubby and stout (looking at it from the side). Something about the 2017's proportions and lines make it look taller and chunkier than it really is, which is no bueno in my opinion. Still a cool car though; don't get me wrong.
This seems like an awesome tune - done for an adult. Adds some power but nothing that the car can't handle + the exhaust is befitting of a super car. The interior upgrade is also tasty. I wish the new nsx was more in this vein. Something about lightweight momentum building cars like this that are just awesome.
this is fucking it! a perfect car! looks 90s, feels today and just listen to it go! would pay my newborn son for it, clarion is 10/10 on point with this car!
S2000 is probably more fun unless you do NSX Type R mods to the NSX. :) Given the regular model NSX is a bit more of a cruiser whereas the S2000 is more frantic.
The NSX drives far better than the S2000, I've driven both. The S2000 I drove felt like a very solid rough ride and the NSX drove like a nice car with great handling and some nice speed. I'd choose NSX over it if I had money.
Ok, bucket list modified. Clarion Builds needs to be unleashed on my Alfa Romeo GTV6. The seats and wheels on this car will be a good start. These guys are artists and engineers. They need to go solo and be a build shop now ...please!
Matt, do you think you will ever be able to do a One Take series at the Nürburgring? I don't mean in the near future, but do you think it would ever be possible?
I love the NSX beautiful cars, and such a pure car. Its to bad they fucked up the new one, the new one is literally the exact opposite that this car stands for. Not nearly as pretty either....
wow somebody gave you 400hp 1991 NSX in mint condition with all bells and whistles by Clarion... I wouldn't... how lucky you are.. Thanks for this ride!!!!! If it was me I would hide it and say that somebody stole it. I got a thing for NSX'es and this thing combined with canyon roads(nice views and weather btw)... it' must be heaven.
That's a complete misrepresentation of why I'm annoyed. This road is single lane with no passing for like 15 miles. If you want to drive slow, go right ahead, but proper canyon etiquette dictates using any of the dozens of turnouts to pull off and let faster traffic by.
Try driving here in Oregon. People here insist on going 5-10mph under, and refuse to accelerate when getting onto a freeway; Then they bitch when people pass them: "hey man, that's aggressive" I blame the weed/prescription meds/distracted driving/drive by wire/unimaginative (I know nothing about tires but I know EVERYTHING about foreign policy) all season tire choices. They can google/research everything but when it comes to car stuff...nothing. The same morons speed in parking lots, fail to come to a complete stop in residential neighborhoods, fail to pick the correct turning radius in big intersections only to over correct by going into your lane (left hand into two lanes, they'll turn into the farthest lane because they cut the apex to early). They drive fast in dangerous places / slow in places where it's safe to go fast. They're also indecisive and slow to react, then overreact when you actually pass them. They keep the same following distance at 10 through 60mph, as if they have F1 style brakes. The cops are the worst: NONE when it's raining/actually dangerous, but once we actually luck out with some sun up here, they're out issuing as many chicken shit tickets as humanly possible. I've honestly thought it would be fun to PAY some of these people just to ride passenger in their own car, on cruise control at 60mph and show them that the world isn't going to come to an end by taking a few corners on the way to the beach that the radius's are engineered to be safe at 80mph in good conditions. God forbid they experience any lateral g's, the world will end and no more free range minority rescue organic grass fed recycled free trade latte's would survive. We really need to go back to mandatory track / driving lessons. And one other thing: Why is it SO difficult for people to actually move forward when the guy in front moves forward on the green light? Why the "I must do nothing until two car lengths have been established first, so fewer people get through the light" attitude. And while we're at it. You CAN turn RIGHT on a red light in Oregon, IF the idiot in front of you moves over to the left and you can get by without leaving the pavement, it's 100% legal.
It's almost the exact same way in Atlanta man! All but the rain issue you have there. I've been trying to explain all of this to my girlfriend especially the part about cornering, we all drive modern day cars we don't need to drop our speed by 20mph on wider corners... And don't get me started on speeding up to get on the freeway, they think the people already on have to slow down for them... Anyway I feel like we could reduce our traffic (not sure if you've heard about our traffic in ATL) some if people knew these things, and I honestly feel like people (here at least) should have to take a class every few years.
Well if it's open road and the guy behind me is actually faster, I pull over, let him pass and life is good. Why is it that people cannot get this? I'm now to the point I just pull over and let the tailgating morons pass (then they all act puzzled about the rock chips)...open up some free road and then enjoy a few corners. I often wonder what they think when they see me pull over, only to catch up again, only to pull over.... while they go on with their dog hair infested "Why wash it when it's just going to rain again?" attitude. These are the same idiots: "wow that's a nice car" yeah. It's real difficult to wash a car, garage a car, not tailgate, and not go to places that have the lowest common denominator parking. Off topic: Why are skinny chics always out jogging but never the fat chic that SHOULD be?
Now that is a cool car, driven a 2005 NSX that my boss owned, did a lot of mechanical work to it as well. Fabulous handling and a race car feel to it. Amazing engineering on that car truly one of the greatest cars of its time for sure. You have the coolest job on the planet man good for you Matt smart guy.
That color looks so good on the NSX
I thought the same, looks amazing!
red suits the nsx way better
I find this a very good looking car
Rio Yellow looks absolutely brilliant on the NSX

Of course! The idea of being out for a drive and just murdering someone with a car sounds like a shitty day for me too

That generation NSX is absolutely timeless. They still look amazing and original today's world.

Wow, great job from Clarion for keeping the character intact from the original car and keeping the mods restrained.
God I want to drive an NSX, I'm into drift cars but NSX's just tickle me in the right places. WouldSundayDrive/10
but then again who said an NSX can't be a drift car? ;))))
+Joel Harris expensive as drift car lol
It would've had to have been done before! I would if i had the money, although I think anyone would drift anything if they had the money ahah
+Art Vandelay Lol
You could always go dc2 if you want some raw driving enjoyment.
NSX is one of those cars that I've always had a real soft spot for but could never see myself owning
why
Why can't I see myself owning one?
Jue_boy yeah
Cejay Krause I guess I would go for other cars in its class before the NSX

I hold you responsible for malfunction of my keyboard due drooling on this car! Excellent work Clarion.

For a Nsx 200k miles is nothing. Many owners say they have no issues with the reliability even at so many miles.

NSX...you just never get old...
What a great take on the original NSX. Definitely needs a shorter final drive, then its perfect. That exhaust note is awesome.
is it just me or does the 98 Honda Accord Coupe and the Acura NSX share the same rear features

it does
Preludes too

Love these builds, really tastefully done.
Its so awesome that someone put 230k miles on an NSX and then Clarion Builds gave it a new drive line and made it such a clean car.

that thing is awesome. very slick, one of the greatest 90's cars for sure
230,000miles on the odo that's the distance between earth and the moon (238,000miles)
Yup, and my Lexus has done the moon and back twice!

man, honda used to make some amazing cars, they lost their way tho. same as nissan.
John Smitty Who do you think owns Acura?
Keifer, except Honda Corp. gives Acura, Torrance, CA a whole lot of latitude, a quasi- autonomy in Acura design.
Good video Matt, I never get tired of seeing the NSX
Matt when is the M5 e60 one take coming out?

this NSX sounds amazing, love the exhaust!
Did I miss the part in the video where the car goes from 340hp to 400?
400 Crank HP = 345 wheel HP
how do you lose that much from a mid (more rear) engine to a rear wheel drive layout??
that interior is amazing. simplicity at its best

What an amazing looking car, they did great job
Holy shit I want this car
One of the most beautiful and refined cars of all time. Good luck everyone else.
Insta-like! my dream car down to the color
Nice piece of work done. Added lots more power & cabin refinement but still maintains the simplicity of the original NSX look.
I couldn't afford this so decided to get an S2000 instead. Next best thing, am I right?!
BrienMusic not really..lol this nsx is a 3.2 v6 ..and s2k's are 2.0 and 2.2 4 bangers...i still like s2k's alot tho
Haha I know, I'm just talking in terms of 'fun factor'
S2000 is probably more fun unless you do NSX Type R mods to the NSX. :) Given the regular model NSX is a bit more of a cruiser whereas the S2000 is more frantic.

Yes. I have been talking with the RSR Nurburg guys about doing a series with 4-5 of their rental race cars on the ring. I think it would be awesome.
Yes, yes it would.
+TheSmokingTire that, would be THE BEST.
That's really great! The Nürburgring is #1 on my bucket list.
Unless you know what a stock first gen NSX looks inside and out, you'd think this is nothing. But this thing is RIDICULOUSLY BEAUTIFUL
I love it I love it I love it omg I love it
That is an awesome car! Amazing attention to detail. That exhaust is delicious!
I love the NSX beautiful cars, and such a pure car. Its to bad they fucked up the new one, the new one is literally the exact opposite that this car stands for. Not nearly as pretty either....
Well most reviews that I’ve seen on it say it’s basically a baby 918.
love how you appreciate a 1990 civic with a 100hp up to the 1000 hp Godzilla true car guy Matt mad respect

+07wrxtr1 hahaha so true, very similar morons up here in Washington
Thank you thank you thank you for not tailgating - I got my young kids in the car usually and their safety is king when I’m driving these days
I like the interior upgrades, and I also like how on exterior, they kept everything stock except for the hood.
The sound this thing makes is just glorious
I saw and sat in this exact car in person at Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale. It's even more stunning in person
