Yes and no. Rimuru tells them that they will not do business with them, but he also told Gard to speak to them discreetly. With them trading through Gard's company with Tempest, they are still able to tap into the huge new market that's about to open, but now owe a huge favor to Gard. I think it might be due to some rule of the council. Like, demanding payment in a specific currency is justified, and you can't deny future business based on that. But since Tempest didn't join the council, they can do whatever they want.
If a contract is fulfilled/terminated, it is at the discretion of the sole contractor whether a contract can be up for renewal. Those merchants were “over ripened fruits” demanding they get paid.
Unless they _think_ they claim to be working for a “bureaucratic institutional office” or “government funded” organisation, then that is the first thing they will do. What good will _methodically_ sourced funds do for them if said people were to potentially start a famine?
Rimuru hired the merchants to help with food and sell their wares in the festival. Rimuru was going to pay them with the gold coins that he got from Youm's kingdom as restitution for the war. The merchants refused to accept those coins and wanted to be paid in dwargon coins, which are the locally traded currency. Think of it like how the US Dollar is used in a lot of international trade even if the US isn't a part of said trade. Like when Canada trades with Mexico, they don't use their own currency, they use the us dollar
@@idkalan00 One thing to add is the merchants originally agreed to be paid with Rimiru's coin, but then corrupt men spread rumours that Rimiru's money was no good which is why they demanded the dwarven money. The corrupt people were counting on Rimiri not being able to pay and either looking like cheats, or the corrupt people swooping in with predatory loans to allow Rimiru to pay it off. Either way they won. Rimiru utterly undid their plans by being able to pay.
They can, but merchants also can request payment in international value if they bring something from other countries. And it's true. Imagine sold something with their currency like Zimbabwe currency plus it's unstable and pretty new, just to find out how low that to intenational currency like USD or EUR. So Rimuru's move was smart to not let them ruin his reputation and even got profit from them.

Those merchants were “over ripened fruits” demanding they get paid.
Rimuru being a business badass.
Rimuru, the role model for debt-free living! 💪🐌
Am I the only one loving how Shion and Diable was ready to attack... lol
what a weird timing, just finished the 3rd season in a row. and then it suddenly uploads this just right away
0:58 the looks on their faces indicate that they know of that guy’s scheme
I CANT WAIT FOR SEASON 4
Shion and Diablo obviously were suspicious of that guy.
Interesting...can we appoint Rimuru to be Czar of the Fed? I'd be satisfied if he just ate the damn thing.
Rimuru justice ⚖️ 🙌 👏 😢 🙏 ❤️
Awesome That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 Video.
What season and episode is this on Crunchyroll?
Rimuru going all Edward I on the merchants.
Decent last episode, I’m ready for the movie and S4!
This is a mistake. They didn't once ask rimiru for his social and bank account routing number.
Unless they _think_ they claim to be working for a “bureaucratic institutional office” or “government funded” organisation, then that is the first thing they will do.
What good will _methodically_ sourced funds do for them if said people were to potentially start a famine?
I can attest, this is very similar to paying off your student loans.
My got title maker-kun knows us so well

When did this debt appear?
When they organized the festival, traveler merchants provided supplies and/or services from outside Tempest, and they have to be paid.
They should have realize that this is his house and they’re playing by his rules 😂
*"Nobody! moves currency in the South! Valley! but me, biznatch!"*
@@dargenflame2500 even with that being the case, those merchants and noble we’re completely out of line with their rude comments and small rioting behavior. During business transactions there are certain things you can’t say/do other wise you can risk losing trust immediately(using the racial term monster). He has every right to decide who he does business with and those merchants/noble have no right to force their Will onto Rimuru, to that extent.
They tried to get rimuru on a loan and manipulate him.
Season 4 and new movie confirmed
Great now let’s wait till next year
I just waiting when the next season and 2 movie release
clever rimuru
Should've included diablo's smirk
4th season confirmed!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Bro why mention students loan...😢 Hurts 🤕
Not up to date on this arc, but isn't one of Tempest's first deals with a dwarven kingdom? Like even if those coins were a decent chunk of Rimuru's reserve currency why is there doubt he won't have that particular type of coin?
Because deal was very big. He got 2500 gold coins from gazel and elmeshia to pay it.
Rimuru has lot of money but not in form of acceptable currencies.
@@ratre7349 TBF shouldn't they have known that Rimuru got reparations for gazillions of stellar coins? Is it that weird for Rimuru to have exchanged a few of the stellar coins to Dwargon in exchange for the more useful gold coins (that Dwargon literally produces itself, due to superior anti-forgery tech out of all the civs rn alive)?
@@skebaba918 stellar coins are usually keeped as reserve currency. So most of time they just stay in treasurey. And exchanging that much currency isn't done in casual way like rimuru did with gazel or elmeshia.
Basically there's not much information about rimuru and tempest and how close his relationship is with other countries.
So they didn't think he has enough dwargon gold coins which they weren't totally wrong. If relationship between gazel amd rimuru wasn't that close it would have been hard for him to get coins.
So those guy weren't stupid just comman sense doesn't aply for rimuru.
@@ratre7349 Honestly kinda weird Granbell didn't know how close Rimuru was to Gazel, given Dwargon has been one of the OG backers besides Blumund since day 1
@@skebaba918 they know relationship between tempest and dwargon is close but they don't know just how much close it is.
Gazel treat rimuru like younger students of same master. He act like senpai to rimuru which is very close relationship. they don't know about this.

I don't get. Why does Rimuru need to pay them? They got there to sell their products, had profit, used his festival to do and he still has to pay them. Why? If I need to open a small business in a fair, I am the one paying for those who organize the fair. Not the other way around. This is just stupid.
I haz my own SWIFT system.
Not the greatest season but season 4 and a movie has been greenlit.
Ya unfortunately from what I’ve heard from LN readers this was a “doomed to fail” season, at least in its first half because that whole first arc was what you might call an experimental accident and the author’s first attempt at this sort of geopolitical story telling at least as the main focus, as you can see they got better at it after that arc but ya kinda had to go through a rough spot first before smoothing out the edges
I’m trying to be in that position, no lie
God bless America! And give it some socialism, goddammit! Some public healthcare and accessable scholarship system would make the guys happy.

@@jackall-trades6149 I'll be honest: I'm European, and only the stories about people begging not to call the ambulance reach here. And even if it's not true in all cases, I'm quite sure these stories aren't baseless. Which is bad enough in itself.
So cool 🥰
