  • This is a how-to video on replacing your incandescent pool light bulb or upgrading to an LED light fixture.
Here is a link to an excellent LED pool light (the one I I ordered is no longer in stock):

You could just cut the old pool light off at start of cable and attach the new cable very firmly to old cable and pull it through.

Awesome job! Thanks for taking the time to share your upgrade and installation. Your DIY work has made it to Michigan 😎! Funny to see you in a wetsuit in Florida, and what you probably feel is "cold" vs what we experience here in the northern states. ( lol )
Looking to upgrade our old existing 500W halogen T3 double ended bulb with an LED kit. Appreciate you sharing your journey to help others. Especially like your commentary regarding the electrical (drivers, transformers...) thanks again.

Just wondering why you ran new wiring? We have two lights out and the pool guy is quoting $1500 each for parts and install.

@@gloombastic yeah - we had that same kind of $response$ from our pool guy- the light we bought had the cord attached and it couldn't be removed

What about water in the wire conduit? How is that sealed or flushed (from the niche/pool side)?

@@danthemann The light is sealed or should be sealed already. There will be water in the niche.
The conduit you can seal with plumbers putty and use a wet dry vac to suck any water out. But there will probably always be some water in it. At least in mine
