@@vinnieomahoney6359 Based on trading my M140i in for an M2C: settlement at end of term was £14,500, dealer gave me £17,250 p/x, and privately I could have got at least £18k if I waited long enough (but didn't as the 2.9% deal on the M2C won't last long). So £2750 equity in an M140i. An M2C at the end of 4 years will be the same, if not more. If you 'buy' the right car you will always have equity at the end of the term (so long as you don't ASBO the shit out of it and keep the mileage reasonable).
If you do PCP (not the drug) then you can just hand the car back at the end of the term with no penalty (again so long as you don't fck it up massively), or just sell it privately and pay off the settlement and keep the change, you aren't held to ransom for the balloon payment.
2:18 Paul Mate you need to get a valve controller. Just like on the M3/M4, the valves shut constantly. You can hear it as this point and throughout this sound clip. As soon as you come off the throttle the valves shut and you get the weak burbling.
M2 Competition wipes the floor with its rivals. The driving experience is just phenomenal compared to my 2016 rs3

I don't think the RS3 is a true rival given that it doesn't come with a manual, it's also AWD with more practicality. An amazing car regardless but the M2 for mine.

bongmist definitely. The M2 is much more focused and pleasurable to drive compared to the RS3 whereby all you need is your right foot and one arm. So glad BMW is retaining a RWD platform for the M2 AND 2 series coupe over the FWD platform on 1 series and 2 series Gran coupe
Definitely wouldn’t compare a 2016 rs3 to a m2 competition. I would say the 2018 Rs3 is a close competitor
man the m2 competition is such a stunning car. Those rims are abysmally good looking too. Definitely my dream 2nd car.
How can you mod the car if it's on PCP? I am on PCP also (M2 LCI) and would love to do some mods, but I don't think it's allowed and therefore dangerous territory (look what happened to Ricky from LLF)

When buying a car on finance it's the total cost not the monthly payments that matters and until the agreement is fulfilled you don't own the car the finance company does

ABAUTO isn’t this what happened to the M4 from LLF channel ?
G13RS exactly that! Ricky did a video about it. The finance company found out about all the mods and demanded that he pay the full value of the car or face legal action. He ended up paying for the car outright as his channel was all about that car and the reviews. Have to be careful modding cars on finance for sure.
Harry Martin you can modify the car but you have to ask for permission from the finance company as they do technically own the car

I get that from a monthly payment perspective the Comp was attractive, but what about the equity you will be left with at the end of the term (or before if you chop in early)? To compare you need to look at the total cost for the term of the agreement, surely?
Tom Spanyol exactly it's short term I get this car for 440 but he has to find another 13k at the end or give it all back when he plans to mod it and breach the agreement
Just test drove a Competition w/manual box earlier today. Unbelievable car and loads of fun. The car is a monster. Now, I have to figure out how to get it.
You know you'll void your finance if you mod the car as its not your car until you make the final payment.
That’s what I like about the f type and see one every other month if I really look I live in Oregon though (always rainy) everyone here has Subaru or bmw
Don't use the auto calculators kids! You go to the dealer and haggle the interest down when buying the car since the dealers get profit from everything over base interest auto calculators is always way above
The comp may be a little quicker but the OG N55 M2 sounds 100x better than the comp!! Also watch out for that crank hub 😬😬
I don't trust the S55, your crank hub could back out with aggressive downshifts (generally considered root cause). 2023 M2 with S58

Quick question, since you paid $40k for it and your monthly payment is around $400 dollars a month, with 10% down. That would take you approximately 7.5 years to pay off. Am I correct or am I missing anything?
Also, I’ve been looking to buy a 2018 M2 LCI but have fallen in love with the competition more and more every time I see it for reasons such as the interior and engine but sadly I can’t afford the competition but can afford a M2 LCI. Do you think I will regret my decision with not going for the M2C? Especially putting into consideration the residual value in the future.

M2 LCI is still an amazing car! It weights less, sounds better too. Less it's not overall as good as a M2C but you'll still 100% absolutely love it. :)

He only pays the $400 for the two year finance. At the end he will have an option to pay a baloon payment which pays for the rest of the car and allows him to keep it. If he chooses not to then he gives the car back. He doesnt technically own the car until he pays the ballon payment.
Basically mate, he paid a £4,000 deposit, £440pm for however long the finance is, then after he either gets the chance to pay £22,000 balloon payment and own the car, or he gives it back.. if he decides to give it back he will lose his £4,000 deposit plus all of the monthly's added together so if it's 2 years.. £10,600 if it's 3 years £15,900 etc, so he's gonna be losing ALOT of money either way and it's an awful way to buy a car! Would not reccomend, either buy outright or HP finance, if you can't, sadly you can't afford the car, that's how I see it

The only way to buy these cars or any car for that matter is to save up the dosh and buy them outright. No way am I going to be spending all sorts on interest to give to the thieving banks.
Buying cars outright makes absolutely no financial sense. Invest the money and use the cashflow to pay for the car
I bought my 67 plate m2 lci 2 years ago for 39k 4000 miles on the clock put 9k in and I pay £298 a month I thought it was a good deal. The comp wasn’t out at the time. I’m planning on paying the ballon and keeping it.

Brand new M2C, £12.5k down and £300 a month at BMW just now. 2.9% finance. Makes buying new about the same as buying a nearly new - plus it's new. Got mine arriving in a couple of weeks after PPF and Ceramic treatment

You need a reality check on your finance assumptions. The balloon payment is way higher because the car is way more expensive...so, you’re not planning on paying the ballon...ok but. The ballon is NOT the residual value of the car it’s simply what you need to pay to settle the agreement. If, at the end of the term, that car’s worth less then you’re in for a bill which will effectively make your payments higher! The cheaper car with the similar monthly payments will be far cheaper to own over the term. Basically, whichever way you carve it up, you are financing the purchase price of the car. The more expensive car will attract more interest overall and also depreciate more over the period. Therefore Net actual cost of ownership will be more.

I dont understand how these cars are so cheap in GB, i looked at a 2020 M2 competition this morning, 9k down and 1k a month for a lease
PCP for 48 months is much cheaper. 2.5k down and 600 pcm is what I've been quoted before and that wasn't proper haggling.
I see on the m2 Facebook group there’s a deal of £560 deposit and £560 a month going round
11:03 payment on m2c might “only” be £35 more than the 2016 you looked at, but you’re mental if you think m2c won’t cost you loads more in long run. The 2016 car has already been through its steepest depreciation period. Where as you’ll be taking the hit yourself on the m2c.
To create an A45 with AMG’s budget is easy. Power, FWD, job done. To create an M2 with genuine driver appeal is difficult and rarer.

How can you modd a car that you don’t own?? You change cars so often I highly doubt that your going to purchase it come end of your lease, so how can you make any changes without consequence?
Finance gets a lot of hate! But really Finance allows people to get nicer cars at a more spreadable cost over a set time and also either keep them after, or just move onto something else and Finance that.
I just put a deposit down for a Mini JCW 2017 with £8000 worth of options added by the previous owner, and the monthly payments aren't even £200. I'll have it paid off way before the 4 years. But don't need to rush it. I can then keep it or part exchange it, getting a value of what it would part exchange at-
the money goes to the finance company to pay off what I had left to pay on finance, and the rest is a deposit on the next car. I had £5000 left to pay on my previous car, £9000 overall value so had £4000 to deposit. But that's only because I fell in love with the JCW when I wasn't even supposed to be looking for a new car. Oooooppss.

Insane that no one in the comments understands finance, the M2C is clearly the better deal and PCP is the best way to buy a car, the fact he has warranty and less maintenance it literally becomes cheaper over the 4 year period.

Meanwhile in Norway. Cheepest M2 Competiion on market. ca. 75 000 punds. With a healty deposit you are looking at around 15 000 punds and 1100-1200 a month over a 5 year deal.
Same in Ireland, and road tax is €1,200 for the DCT and €2.250 for the manual...
What about the crank hub problem?

Many cars have many issues. Unfortunately, the crank hub like baf noise is fuelled by M2 N55 clowns looking to justify their lower model.

I'd have the M2 Comp over the A45s, but I'd have a CLA45s over a M2 Comp. The A bodystyle is just kind of boring for the type of car that it is, especially compared to the CLA and M2
Forget to mention the difference over 4 years of deposit + 48 payments + balloon payment is a cool £15500

I had the same with m3 F80 went to kook at a 40k second hand one, ended up with a 72k brand new one in my spec for cheaper
£31k all in for the ‘16, £48k for the ‘19 assuming you pay the balloon. £22.5k over 4 years for the ‘16, £25.5k for the ‘19 assuming you hand the keys back. For that money you could literally almost buy the ‘16 outright, and have the car to keep at the end of 4 years.
You never shop for a car using the monthly payment. You should based on price and rate. If you're rate is a good rate, you should never put down a deposit. I'm with the other comments. This UA-camr doesn't know jack shit about money.

I want a 2019/2020 M2 comp but it will be my first German car, I have a mortgage and make between 80/85k. Reason I mention that is because I’m scared about reliability and also I get winter weather for about 4 months. Will snow tires make it drivable in the snow ?

The M2 comp will depreciate more and you'll have less chance of having equity in it. People look at deposit and monthly's and forget about the cost of getting out've a car.

@@TrustMeIKnowEverything If you're doing a remap it's really risky as all the crank hubs can slip as it's a poor design. 25k for a new engine if you put the rods through the pistons. 👍
