Gary, I have to tell you, it's criminal that more people haven't subscribed to this channel. First, the editing, music choices, and the camera work is top-notch. You can see what's going on and it's always interesting. Second, you're a true craftsman. It's a joy to just watch you work. Third, you have an uncommonly broad and deep skill set. Where did you acquire all these skills? (This might be a worthy video to just introduce yourself and how you came to be doing this sort of thing). I worked in a detail shop some 30 years ago, and there are few people who have the detailed skills you do. It's one thing to do a multi-stage polish, and it's another to know exactly what products you like and to do it wet. You clearly know what you are doing, but you're also an intuitive mechanic, and I'm guessing just the product of years of tinkering with cars. And that paintwork? I don't know many home mechanics who could paint a bonnet to that standard. That bonnet is Rolls-quality. Kudos to you.

Love how your daughter is involved Gary, car maintenance is one of the greatest gifts you can give a child. I learned through my late uncle back in the seventies and all the skills learned are transferable into general life as I found later in adult life. You are going to have so much fun in this beauty now the warmer months are here.

I feel like you, when I drive my 84 Corniche, it just makes me smile! Such a high quality build, with supreme comfort.
The look of the Wood, the smell of the Connolly leather, nothing like it in the world. So sad for me to see the interiour of the new RR‘s. Tons of plastic everywhere, and no wood, with those ridiculous stars in the headliner. Henry Royce is surely
    Spinning in his grave!😕😢

Hello Gary I purchased a "town cap" to use when parking overnight to remove the mascot for avoiding theft..I use a 4mm combination wrench with an Allen key cut down to a short straight plain hex shank to fit behind the radiator shell and turn the securing hex screw quickly to remove the mascot... And I had all the cushions of my Corniche underside the bonnet replaced.... as the others degraded so much it looks. lovely..

You have done a fine job on the Rolls Gary.
I remember years ago talking to the chauffeur to the Governor of Victoria (Australia). He didn't use a cutting compound on the vice regal Rolls, he just mixed some baby powder in with Porzelac wax which gave it the right amount of cut. He must have had a fair bit of time on his hands as all of the vice regal always looked immaculate.

From Sydney, Australis. I'm now 67 yrs old . I have owned 3 Jaguars in my lifetime kept for many years and in my ownership racking up huge mileages. ALL 3 have been FLAWLESS, totally FAULTLESS and all full of LUCAS electrics.
My first as a 19 yr old a LHD 1965 4.2 litre MK10 only affordable as a LHD car in Aust' it had become a "lepper" as on july 1st 1976 ALL LHD car were to be de-registered and banned from our roads . 15months into the 18months prior to the ban I bought a really junky one to provide all the RHD componentry to do the big swap with my just retired industrial engineer grandad during mid-year uni break.
I wound its miles speedo with a drill to Zero and put the kilometres on aside as we were still using miles. So it 52.000kilometres on it when swapped to RHD & i put 153.000 extra miles on as an RHD car, it saved my life in a terrible multi car and 2 bike accident.
5 Years into mk10 ownership and by then with earnings of a young doctor I bought a rare long wheelbase series 1 xj6 a special order car at almost 5 yrs age it had 18,200 miles on it , I sold it to a friend in December 2012 with 190,000 miles on it , flawlessly reliable.
Sold xj6 as I had just acquired a 1967 mk10/420G from the estate of an elderly doctor who had just passed away , it had just cracked 50.000 miles from 1967 to 2012, 45 years. In my decades ownership I have added another 40,000 miles to it, with zero issues at all.
My Mum's Jags , she bought new in November 1961 a mk10 in 9 years she put 240.000 miles on it and it worked perfectly , we never broke down in it as kids . To replace it she ordered a 1970 w111 Mercedes 280SEC 3.5 v8 full size convertible. As it was CHEAPER to buy as a NEW CAR than a fully stocked Jaguar mk10/420G, the giant jaguar was an extra $5,000 on top of the Merc's $11,750 back then.
Mercedes/Bosch reliability was like 1% of the prior Jaguar , for 17 months it gave mum unbelievable trouble, our local Merc & VW dealer(s) were twin brothers she went to school with & grew up with and helped her as much as possible. The car had 3 engines in 17months the first 2 blew head gaskets at the 4.000 mile mark, the Bosh electrics for the convertible roof's hydraulic ram control went berserk so one side had a fight with the other tearing the fabric roof apart and bending all the frame bars too. PLUS it kept on sending batteries flat all the time BOSCH electric for you -- JUNK . As a Lawyer she took M-B Aust to court and they had to pay her out of pockets , and buy it back what a dud, AND I always smile when I see some poor sucker has paid some huge amount for one of these.
Mum ordered a new 1971 420G/mk10 it cost $17,000 new and kept it until early 2000's when it was struck by a drunk in a truck and damaged beyond repair. So I gave her my LWB XJ6 to drive until 2012 when dad turned 90 and stopped driving , then mum drove his car as it was easier for him to get into .
As an aside, in 1957 & 58, General Motors Holden recalled all the FE & later FC Holdens and STRIPPED them of their FAULTY, FIRE inducing BOSCH wiring harnesses, and replaced them with LUCAS. My very first car was a hand me down 1958 FC Holden in 1973, I kept it for years as a spare, Its Lucas electrics took me to some of the most remote places imaginable in this vast country never letting me or my girlfriend down on 2 occasions in the peak of xmas uni break we didn't see people for 10 days !! we were so remote. in 1986 I sold it to a young intern he was looking for a reliable car to get him to work at odd hours as traversing the city in the middle of the night can be hard on public busses & trains. That young intern Richard is still a mate now in 2023, and he still has the old LUCAS powered Holden it's still working perfectly all these decades on.

Thanks Robbie but the music is a gripe as you can only use free UA-cam music otherwise it costs fortunes. It’s just a bit of fun really and quickly shot on my phone but appreciate all your comments. Regards.
