- Hello everyone and welcome back to my channel. Today we will be looking at the Hot Toys Darth Vader DX28 from the Obi Wan Disney+ Show. Is this figure all based on FOMO? With the new ROTJ Vader coming out, is this DX28 needed for collectors? Especially if you have a Vader already...lets discuss.

By far the best Vader out there, not a hard sell at all and it shows. People love the design period and hot toys will never do it again. Sure you can say “fomo” but doesn’t change the fact he’s an amazing fig. Most of your complaints are either covered by the cape or on every Vader. How is rotj worth more than this when you get both clean and battle damage in the kenobi package. I don’t see anything in the rotj package except maybe stairs that make it worth it kenobi almost doubles the accessory’s

Coming from the perspective of a Vader collector and fan, this is definitely a FOMO Vader. One factor FOR ME is that’s the source material wasn’t good and it isn’t a cinematic Vader. The more iconic version will be the ROTJ Vader with the full Sebastian Shaw head sculpt. Not hating on this figure. It is an amazing set but if I had to choose and didn’t want too many Vaders in my collection, ROTJ will be the definitive Vader

I received mine yesterday, I will have 3 with the Vader Return of the Jedi version, enough for me with this caracter, nice base, lights and helmet, in other way is basically the same body in all of them

I really hate that there's a long stupid cord if you have a bunch of them. You have to use many outlets. It's stupid they should make a wireless light saber And you charge the light saber If it's fifty dollars more for a light saber That doesn't have wires.I don't care.I'll pay the extra 50.I'm pretty sure the whole community would too.
I had the rogue one version the lenses made the figure tbh
Like you mentioned, i think this figure, specifically the deluxe version, is for those who just want a one and done Vader figure.
Love the video! This js my first Vader and it’s my fav, I also have the ROTJ on preorder and I just think the headsculpts elevate Vader to another level. I’ve sold off most of my figures that don’t have a headsculpt b/c I just don’t think hot toys can justify their prices for figures without one and Vader always felt like it wasn’t worth it. I’m a big prequel guy so this is my Vader. I think out of all 3 Vaders the ESB is the least worth. No headsculpt, helmet looks off, and doesn’t fully light up. Only thing is the base for the ESB scene which is probably better to just buy off eBay and use either of the other 2 Vaders

I'm new to collecting Hot Toys and never had the opportunity to buy the earlier Vader releases. I actually pre-ordered the 40th Anniversary ROTJ version first, but then ordered this one later because I wanted a Vader as soon as possible. But it's hard for me to imagine buying another Vader any time soon. Two will be more than enough for me.

The helmet sculpt on this Bader is by far the best version we’ve seen to capture ANH/Kenobi or RO.
No other release is this good. Know what you’re buying…definitely not FOMO.

I only gotthis guy for the cracked helmet, as multiple artwork of that particular look, plus I don't have space for the PF from Sideshow, its what sold it foe me. Hes not that iconic like OT ROTJ/ESB but for a battle damaged one is good.
IMO the best hot toys Darth vader they made was the 1/4 scale. I believe the base of the 1/4 is the same as this kenobi vader. The porpotions on thr 1/4 is just on point
Ahhhh good catch my friend I think you are correct about the base! I dont own the 1/4 Vader. That being said, it will be nice to see the 1/6 ROTJ Vader on this light up base, it would truly be a scaled down version of the 1/4 at that point.

Everyone has a basic vader with the full helmet and the rotj vader is kinda the same. This one has more story to it. Like why is his head cracked? Why is his box scratched. What did he go through? Idk it just looks more menacing imo. I ordered both so i cant wait to compare them!

Definitely a FOMO Vader for me. I got it and I don’t even collect Star Wars stuff lol. But like you I got the Deluxe for less than the price for the regular version shipped and I do like Darth Vader so I said why not, but now he is surrounded by my Batman collection…I didn’t think it through very well 😂. Maybe it will be my gateway to get other Star Wars figures like Darth Maul and maybe Revan and Starkiller if they get announced/released. But we’ll see
