"I reckon you should be able to hunt anything you want, but there's just rules. Like, you can hunt anything, fox or larger, you have to use melee weapons. Fox or lower, bare knuckle. Cause if you can kill a lion with a sword, fair enough. That's your lion. You can have that one"
Is it too early in the video to already have a new favorite Gabe quote?

As a Yorkshireman from Sheffield I'd like to attest to the accuracy of this game. A standard trip home from t'pub usually ends with me having killed several hundred carnivorous rabbits.

klimpomp That actually makes me think. I'd really like to see what Yahtzee could do with a decent asset pack. It's a given that the weakest part of his games is the art, if he could have an asset pack as a foundation to work from I bet he could create something really cool.

I've played Poacher several times over the years and I kind of love it. I like the story being told and the level design and the sense of humor and the simple but skillful gameplay. A couple of the boss fights are things that I think could be tweaked a bit to shift the balance between "fun and challenging" and "frustrating with cheap shots from the enemy," and maybe put thought into more upgrades that will actually be useful, but those are the only real major things I can think to change. If Yahtzee put out a sequel (or rather a spiritual sequel, at least, since Derrick's journey with Rebecca has more or less concluded) on Steam in the same style and tone, I'd pay for it.

Re-watching this years later, I realize none of the comments that can be easily scrolled answer the Shenmue pronunciation question fully. I'll go ahead then, for the sake of any wandering viewers. It's pronounced the way they make fun of. The "e" at the end was because the makers thought it'd be easier for english speakers to figure out the pronunciation that way. The makers both didn't understand english (the fact that long "u" is usually "yoo" not "oo") and underestimated the knowledge of japanese pronunciation among english speakers.

Terminal velocity is the max velocity an object can fall inside an atmosphere i.e. the velocity where the air resistance (a.k.a. drag) cancels out the gravitational acceleration. So if you have a parachute (which has a huge drag), your terminal velocity is very low and not enough to kill you upon impact.

I actually agree wholeheartedly with Gabe's stance on hunting.
Traditional bear hunting is, after all, done with a Y-shaped stick and a knive.
The stick is thrust under the bear's chin as it rears up so you can go to work with the knife.
Then again, there's always throwing spears, knives and axes.
It's how hunting should be done.

Binge-watching all of these I can't help to notice a theme of disapproving/distant father cropping up a lot in Yahtzee's work.

I have a suggestion. If Yahtzee can't work on doing another savegame for the alternate ending, maybe the fans could supply him with the savegame he needs for next video? It's been long overdue for me to hear Yahtzee's commentary on the game and the secret boss.

Just got myself a Hama controller for a cheap price, is there a way to get it to work with this game? Thought they mentioned it supported gamepads to some extent.

Oh, is THAT what the Bargest in Folklore was supposed to look like? I thought it was just a big hairy monster that wasn't supposed to resemble anything. XD
That underground sea reminds me of Ash Lake from Dark Souls…I loved how that place had like a pseudo-sky and everything. I'm also very grateful to the person who told me about it. Thanks UA-cam! :D
Down to jump with the analog stick? Reminds me of forward to jump attack (or kick) with the analog stick from Dark Souls…IT'S FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE! >.> I mean, it's not impossible, but it's impossible to do it on purpose. What makes one tiny angle forward more "forward" than a slightly different tiny angle? And which one makes the thing work? >.>

    • @jakejutras2733

Dude the kick and jump attack are triggered on a short timer :p
If you are holding forward (or any angle) then hit attack you will just attack. If you press forward all the way and hit attack within a single second you will kick/jump attack, its simple really :) sorry for necro'ing this comment but I had the urge to let ya know hahah.

While I am not against more ego reviews, last week Dark souls drown out was glorious and I was anticipating for continuation of the 200 chapter saga of Douglas Uppity and that of his arch rival. Steven Confident, in the quest of providing the denizens of wherever the fuck we stumble upon some bath mats before we proceed to stab them with our sword, sometimes we slice them too.
