Very interesting discussion. Narcissists definitely wear a mask. They are very careful not to get too close to people in general so the mask does not slip. The only people who see the mask off are the spouse and children that is why outside people don't believe how nasty they are to their own family.

" I have never ever felt sadness, melancholy or heartbreak like this. There is absolutely nothing that I can do for her. I literally showered her with love and affection. The more love and affection that I gave her, the more she hated me. No contact is the only solution to rescue your mental and physical health. Serenity Prayer - ...accept the things I cannot change. Have the courage to change the things I can. Have the wisdom to know the difference.... Stay strong. Believe in yourself and heal. Lots of love and hugs to everyone out there, who is hurting ". X

Well, my kid grew up and apparently found out that I wasn’t perfect and it feels like he hates me. He hates when I say that but I can’t describe it any other way. He treats me like I’m sub human and does the most cold hearted things to me. He’s still a young adult, so I’m hoping it’s just that his brain is still not fully developed and it’s just immaturity. I did finally decide to block him and go no contact for awhile. I’m tired of his abuse.

Such a good point you made on feeling sorry for them, they may have arrested development but that doesn't excuse them acting like a toddler in an adults body doing damage to people's lives ❤

6 months out of an 8 month relationship ( romantic!?! ), with a covert narc. Have never experienced trauma even close to this! Absolutely devastating! She absolutely destroyed me and I could see that she derived pleasure, from it! Had no knowledge of Cluster B's, before this. Had absolutely no idea that people like this, exist! I do now! Working hard on my way out of the " Ocean Of Pain "! Thank you so very much for your incredibly informative and brilliant videos. They have helped me beyond belief! You are absolutely brilliant, at what you do.....

Currently dating a narcissist and you’ve made me feel so validated in how I feel and think about him. Usually he’s worried about how perfect our relationship needs to be but currently he’s worried about how he started breaking out last month. Literally like 4 pimples not even too noticeable .. but he’s been talking about it every day since they appeared. He’s always bragged about his skin and this small breakout is driving him insane and it’s draining me because I have to sit there and listen to the same thing about 5 times a day. I won’t lie I did feel somewhat happy when he broke out because he thinks he’s so perfect and that those things don’t happen to him. But now I’m praying that it goes away because there’s times where I feel like he takes it out on me and let’s his insecurities effect our whole day.

I agree with everything you've pointed out in this video. On the topic of the workforce, my husband's narcissistic SIL claimed to be the best person at work, and she blamed her team for the work she always had to bring home (victimhood; and I never believed her). After 15 years of actually being lazy and throwing people under the bus, the job promotion she claimed would be hers never came. The position actually closed (it was her supervisor's role) and all the work got handed down to her. Karma! I was so relieved because, in my own field, I've seen people like this get promotions left and right, and they destroy relationships and the workplace. (And yes, I've been on the receiving end.)

    Your explanation is so relatable.
Everything you said here took me about 8 painful months to figure out. Even though it makes perfect sense, it’s still extremely hard to accept when you love the person they appeared to be in the beginning 😢

I appreciate the way you help us conceptualize, these fundamental truths. The energy it takes for them to keep all these different self states, is tremendous. They try to exhaust us as much as they feel exhausted. Also, they play different roles in their fantasy creations. You are only useful to them until they want to play a new script, with other actors.

One thing I can't figure out... Narcissists see people as things.. but at the same time they want validation and admiration from these things... but things aren't observers... people are. Hmm 🤔🤔 Thanks for amazing video ❤❤

One way to look at it is like a mirror. You look to the mirror to reflect information about you back to yourself, but you don’t look at your mirror as an autonomous entity with thoughts, feelings or needs. It’s very much like that. People are used to reflect or project. Narcissists almost never stop to consider that there is anything deeper than that in the people they interact with.

@@LookingBehindtheMirror Absolutely brilliant explanation to the point where I actually felt it.. me in the mirror isn't me.. and seeing everyone else that way is just absolutely horrible! It's like the narcissist is the only conciesness there is... and the rest of us are just "Yous"... not "Mes/Is".

No point trying to figure them out! Everything that would be good for them from others, empathy, love and security, peace, laughter etc. they reject. Try to turn them towards the light and they run from it! They're frightened of God! So I call them upside down entities!! When you escape them you can see the total evil that they are.love to all here🙏🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

They have different sense of moral, doing truly wrong thing and justifying it but criticizing themselves for something that is very trivial.

I've always wondered again & again... If they don't like how they feel like and if they really want people to love them and appreciate them etc... then whyyy aren't they behaving in such a way that people would happily give them love and whatever they need..? I mean.. they aren't mentally handicapped, they surely understand the rationality of this, don't they..?

@@LookingBehindtheMirror thank you, that'd be awesome 👍 i asked a narc how would he feel if someone else did the things he does to his (ex)-gf, and he said "i never thought of it that way. Of course i would never permit someone do that to me". But he kinda laughed it off. Always the double standards.. Whenever i tell him "look, if you only did this simple thing, it would be so much better for you and everyone else" he just doesn't seem to get it on a more than a superficial wordy level.. The big puzzle 🙈

Such an interesting video. In Canada we have an institution called, "Multiculturalism." "Multiculturalism" leading to many different kinds of unexpected latent effects from that political Canadian instituted now perspective both positive and negative. Mostly positive. However when it is a negative latent effect sometimes if is a horrible shocking one. Imagine the horror when finding out that your child's face is now permanent disfigured after only a kind of sleepwalking incident which involved him only being a tall teenager who just happens to be black or Indigenous or who has ever been in a child welfare intervention while they are trying to stay awake after a very long overtime shift he had to work before then on his way home -- Only because a narcissistic man and his girl friend there at the time too who was waiting for public transit system decided on their own that he had after refusing to share with them one of his cigarettes for free during later only one glance at that girl of his as if that was all the proof they needed that he was offering her llimerance at the time.
When then slamming him across the face with a skateboard by surprise really hard. As if being a young man spotting a head turning beauty nearby while he was trying to stay awake long enough to get home would be all the proof that they needed that he was some crazed and homeless drug addicted ne'er do well youth living on the street. If it hadn't been for someone else there then calling police; for an ambulance and then later in the hospital him having a cell phone to call back home for help after being discharged from that emergency ward after only a few hours of rest in bed then what might have happened next instead of him never making it home again?
