WOe No it's a Rock Brigade...When it came out, I was in the 9th grade...I saw the tour...They were only 18, 19 years old...I think Elliot may have been 20...I got a bottle of pills to give me my thrills...Wasted...
When Pyromania came out I was a 13 year old boy and the album changed my life. I wore the Lumberjack shorts and shirt all over Myrtle Beach, SC with the mullet long and flowing while this album blasted out of my ghetto boom box. Life was simple then and the 80's gave us the best music. Thanks for keeping it alive Dave.
I've been revisiting Def Leppard lately, and I am truly amazed how accomplished Steve was at such an early age. Def Leppard owned the radio waves with Pyromania, 1 - 2 songs per hour every day. Thank you LNL.
Glad to see this and thank you for posting. Def Leppard went in a direction I did not care for after Pyromania, but I've always remained a big fan of Steve Clark, Pete Willis and those first 3 albums.
oh hell yeah definitely checking this out when I get home I had a gig over the weekend actually two of them they were playing Def Leppard live through the sound system as we were setting up they are such a underrated band I also do not link them in with the hair metal there's definitely shades of that style and their music and I think they influence some of the band that came after them again thanks for all your time and effort and knowledge it doesn't go unnoticed I can't wait to get home from work and check this video out take care sir
So cool to hear these guys get some recognition. It brings back memories of me as a teenage boy in my room trying to play these songs. I learned a lot from these three albums. Like you said at the end of the video, I definitely prefer their work before Hysteria. It was more raw and darker lyrically. Later on it was like they all fell in love and then it was butterflies and rainbows which is kind of meh for me.
Great show as always. David, and forgive me if you already have didn't notice but what about doing a show on "Billy Squier, probably spelled it wrong but I think it would be interesting. You are amazing both in the knowledge you posses on music and of course playing. Love your show
Great lesson Dave. A few months back, my buddy and I were debating on which album was better. I was Pyro and he was High n dry. Stage fright is my favorite Leppard tune which is why Pyro gets the nod for me. Both are tremendous albums.
I love your channel. Always chock full ‘O 6 string awesomeness. With the upcoming anticipated Baz Luhrmann ELVIS movie can you do a Scottie Moore & James Burton LNL & Chordplay ?
I’m a big Steve Clark fan…the first 3 albums are the tits…just figured out “Gods of War” last week…the opening guitar riff is a nice finger twister and SO much fun to play…rock on my brother!!!!
The first 3 albums were the ones that kicked it once the cheezy stuff came along I was out back in the day saw Van Halen on the Fair Warning tour and Def Leppard on the Pyromania tour in the S.F. bay area couple of great shows they rocked 👍🤘
Big Steve Clark fan. I was wondering if you could show me the chords to bringing on the heartbreak live in the round. At the 3:57 mark from the iTunes version I love that part.
Don't see too many V-Amps or V-Ampire's floating around. I think I saw the rack version in a couple of your vids? I think I'll dust mine off. Thanks for all your great vids!
I love that you do guitar duos Clark and Colin are definitely some of my favorites in this category again I said this before your content covers a lot of ground and reaches through a lot of different styles check out the band kix from Baltimore if you haven't already happen to know who they are you should do a lesson with them or should I say on them and their guitar playing 🎴 even if you don't no big deal not trying to tell you how to run your channel like I said it's all good I'll be here no matter what ready to get my learn on😅
Hey man can you do a video like this on the solos from how will I laugh tomorrow and can't bring me down by suicidal tendencies? It makes no sense that nobody has lessons on rocky george and his incredible guitar work he shreds man
I became a fan at On Through The Night, was much less enamored with High And Dry and the when Pyromania came out started liking H&D more as well as Pyro. OTTN is still by far my favorite though. More rough and with a tinge of Prog. There are some rich veins of riffage on that album. More Pete too, who was the guy who started me wanting to play guitar on that first album. That back album picture of Pete was it for me. Teenage rock god worship.
Great video....been watching your channel for a while...youve opened up my eyes to No No No..and how cool it sounds without the vocals...as i never liked that song on High n dry. You may have changed my opinion...lol Steve was truely awesome
I wonder if Adam Jones was inspired by Mirror Mirror. After watching this I’m going to have to check out Def Leppard. I dismissed them after hearing a couple of their radio hits.
Def Leppard really died after Pete and Steve were gone. That was the integral song writing team. Such a shame, because they could have been so much huger than they already are, in a better way too
I remember when i first heard Tool & Sober, i said: The guitarist must have listened to that old Def Leppard song. My friend replied: Tool would NEVER listen to Def Leppard!
Clarke's riff-writing was the magic of early Def Lep (first three LPs and you can hear it laced through Hysteria too). When they lost him, they lost the core of their sound IMO.
Def Leppard are British...........Johhny Marr is British.........Yet he is a chordmaster and gets no Chordplay........Been asking for 2 years Now....Fans don;t matter...But thanks for asking
The On Through The Night and High & Dry were outstanding albums! My favorite of their albums!
WOe No it's a Rock Brigade...When it came out, I was in the 9th grade...I saw the tour...They were only 18, 19 years old...I think Elliot may have been 20...I got a bottle of pills to give me my thrills...Wasted...
@@if6turnedouttobe9 Me and my wine!!!
Thanks for doing another early Def Leppard Chordplay! Steve Clark (R.I.P.) was awesome!
When Pyromania came out I was a 13 year old boy and the album changed my life. Still have copy of Hysteria on vinyl!
What a masterpiece!🎸
Thanks for focusing on the earlier records
First heard the melodic riffs of Def Leppard when High 'n' Dry came out. Definitely a polished sounding band. Thanks for this.
That Opening was Killer David🎸Rock Rock Til You Drop That and Stagefright FAVES
The chord choice for the Intro to "Bringing on the heartache" is so crafty.
Thanks B🐓!

I absolutely adore your channel David! Rock on!! 🤘🏼
well that was fun! thanks for some more from Def Leppard
Glad to see this and thank you for posting. Def Leppard went in a direction I did not care for after Pyromania, but I've always remained a big fan of Steve Clark, Pete Willis and those first 3 albums.
I love Def Leppard chords! Thanks, David! And from my two favorite albums of theirs!
Hands down my favorite channel. Love your content!!
Gr8 lesson. I dig your style bro. 😎

Their best two albums. Later ones sold more but these two rocked. The Alex Lifeson influence is strong but Steve Clark made it his own.

Another Def Leppard chordplay. Sweet

Such exquisite content, bravo
That was great. Thanks
Awesome man!

Great lesson Dave. Absolutely love No,no,no. Only other one i can play is Too late for love ( love that song ). Thanks
Thanks David . On Through The Night and High N Dry are the ONLY Def Leppard albums in existence . Right ??? In my eyes ! and my collection .
Great lesson . Thanks for sticking to the early stuff. After Pyromania they just weren't the same band.
Mirror Mirror still my favorite song of their's.
The first 3 albums were the ones that kicked it once the cheezy stuff came along I was out back in the day saw Van Halen on the Fair Warning tour and Def Leppard on the Pyromania tour in the S.F. bay area couple of great shows they rocked 👍🤘
Great stuff! Have you ever done anything on Frank Marino? Great player!
A resonant lesson, as always, dude👍🏼

Awesome! I was hoping you'd also cover the bridge to Too Late For Love, which is something I've been trying to figure out forever
Pete Willis!!! 🤘🏻🎸

I always thought a lot of those core riffs from High n Dry appeared again with Queensryche: Operation Mindcrime
No doubt that Queensryche were heavily influenced by Def Leppard
Great video....been watching your channel for a while...youve opened up my eyes to No No No..and how cool it sounds without the vocals...as i never liked that song on High n dry. You may have changed my opinion...lol
Steve was truely awesome
I wish you would do one on Pete Willis. I’m starting to realize that some solos I thought was Willis was actually Clark.
only the 1st two albums meant anything to me. I think High n' Dry is one of the best hard rock albums ever. so raw and punchy.
Thank you for making these chordplay videos... perhaps consider ones on Radiohead & The Beatles.
That Les Paul tho!
Don't know if it's true or not..... but I think I heard somewhere that Steve was influenced a little bit from Allen Collins of Skynyrd.....
can i ask what your amp settings are great sound do you eq any or just the amp eq
Those "early years".. The only years IMO.
What model Les Paul is that and how much? I'm thinking about getting one like yours.🤔
I think a lot of people forget or never knew Pete Willis played guitars on Pyromania
I wonder if Adam Jones was inspired by Mirror Mirror. After watching this I’m going to have to check out Def Leppard. I dismissed them after hearing a couple of their radio hits.

Phil and Steve split the guitar solos on Pyromania. Unfair to Steve to credit Phil with all the leads, bro.
Steve Clark...... 🎸
Would love a smashing pumpkins video
I miss Steve and Pete!
Chords of Slipknot would be interesting 🤔
🤘
You need a Rockman headphone amp.
Quit foolin. Stand up Get That amp and fire it up. Get the guitar and let it rock.
😎
First ...awesome
