Really enjoyed this, thanks. Gary always played with conviction and emotion and is not spoken about enough. I saw him during his rock years and then on his first blues tour. He was phenomenal. One of only a few guitarists that could play anything and make it sound great. Many modern day shredders should listen to Gary. Thanks David. You're playing demonstrates Gary's technique very well. Take care!! Kev 😊
Gary's performance of the Roy Buchanan song 'The Messiah Will Come Again' from that 1990 Montreux festival is one that I've been going back to over and over for years on UA-cam just to relive what it was like seeing him live the one time I did. His unique phrasing, blistering wizardy, and complete control of such a wide range of dynamics coupled with how he could turn on a dime always amazed me. We need all the Gary content we can get. Thank you for uploading this.
David , another Great session !!! Big Gary Moore Fan !! His solo stuff and can’t forget THIN LIZZY , he and Phil Lynott had an incredible collaboration. I’m mostly a Strat guy …. But I got a first generation Gary Moore Les Paul 😂 I’ll be waiting for your next posting !!!!!
Hey what's up man sorry I didn't get a chance to say it on your last video but better late than never merry Christmas happy holidays definitely excited to see what the late night lessons will bring in 2025. This year was cool you seem to go a little bit into deeper water rather than just a mainstream of artists which will help any musician that's serious about improving. Anyways man keep the lessons rolling and we appreciate everything you do
The Montreaux Blu Ray box set of all the shows Gary did is pure gold!…his solo on Parisienne in 97 still makes me well up, but they are all incredible!…Thanks for this video! ✊🏼🎸💙
There are never enough Gary Moore videos. Thank you very much! If you can, check out the gig he played in a small private club when BB King was the special guest - in his green sparkly jacket. There are a few clips on YT. This, for me, is one of Gary’s best ever performances. I had the video but lent it to someone and never saw it again. Apparently his family are still trying to re release it. Cheers!
cheers Dave...yes Gary is sorely missed by me to this day...saw him in the 70s and blew me away with his conviction, aggresion and speed of blues and rock licks.....like the last one best...already belted that one...like it...yep...bit of Eric in there....happy new year too....cheers.
Gary Moore is such an intense player! The pick attack, tone, and strategic speed, really makes him unique. Maybe not the most creative music writer but love his playing style. Happy New Year and thank you for another year of great music instruction and insight.
Gary Moore during the late 80's and 90's over here in the UK and a lot of Europe was pretty much our Stevie Ray Vaughn if that makes sense. Back in those days SRV was some young guy who played with David Bowie on a song here or there and hadn't really tapped into the British Zeitgeist yet. Clapton had moved onto rock and pop music only playing the odd blues song here or there, Rory Gallagher was still around but it was clear he was tragically pretty ill and not quite what he used to be, Jeff Beck was well.. being Jeff Beck I don't mean that in a negative way but Jeff at this point was just going everywhere musically. There was a huge blues void and Gary came along and picked up the mantle and blew us all away with the Still got the Blues album.
Hi David, I'm a huge fan of the channel-thanks for the Gary Moore Three for All video! I have two requests: could you cover the guitar interplay of MC5? They're an overlooked, seminal band that revolutionized hard rock and invented punk with their exciting two-guitar attack. Also, would you consider doing a video on Willie Hale, aka Little Beaver? He's another underrated master, and I’ve had trouble understanding his style. I’m a Patreon member, if that counts for anything! Thanks!
Hi Dave!! Everytime i want to get back serious on the practicing i come to watch any of your videos!! What you do is priceless, Sr. !! Could you please someday make a 3 for all with Chris Holmes from WASP? In my opinion, not only he is a underated beast of a guitar player, but also he has one of, if not the best guitar tone in my opinion. Thank you very much again for every lesson you take the time to do for us. Cheers!
The 1990 concert may be his best … one player I never saw play live … his playing at the fender Strat pack concert with Pino Paladino on bass is another great concert
Just a heads up, but if you think the only thing worth learning are the licks, then you're missing the entire point of this channel and what I'm attempting to do here. Good luck and forgive me for attempting to do something more than just be a performing monkey.
@ Really. I watch your videos rather often. But honestly too much talking in the beginning. No need to repeat well-known facts about bands’ history and guitarists and bla-bla-bla. We all are aware of that. Just please, go straight to licks.
Gary was my favorite. So melodic and emotional yet ferocious ripping speed when the song called for it
He really was such an incredible talent.
The reason I first picked up guitar and still the only player that makes me want to put it down again.
great tribute to Gary. ... and monster tone in the video! Monster!
Sat here learning some songs for the band , I see Gary Moore and the band can wait. Legend.
Great playing. Love that Les Paul. Thanks.
All killer! Thanks. It’s a lovely summer’s morning here in my garden in Australia. Fresh coffee and Gary’s licks made it perfect.
So crazy I had just ordered this exact live performance last week. Dvd just arrived too!
Great licks to add to the arsenal. Thank you!

Great video. My dad had that concert on VHS when I was a kid. I must have watched it 50 times. What a legend.

The '90 Montreaux show is definitely one of his greatest but they're all top notch.
Man, you are such an intelligent musician... Love these break downs

Killer licks! Thank you for sharing.
The Messiah will come again. Best instrumental I've ever heard
You like Gary Moore's playing for the same reasons I do! Awesome licks, thanks man.
Oh this is going to be good! I've returned my seat to the upright position and fastened my safety belt... LET'S GO!! 😁
These 3 licks are fantastic! This version of the Stumble has some of my favorite playing by Gary. Great job man.
Sure do miss Gary Moore RIP every note he played was with such conviction!
Love it. Thanks Dave.
Gary Moore is why I play.
Hell yeah brother.
Needed this. Thanks again!
End of the Wolrd - Live Track; was f'ing awesome, much inspiration for me back then. Thanks

Great stuff Dave. New Year's resolution is to nail the diminished scale!
More Gary Moore!!!
WE WANT MOORE!
Joy. Thx.
I have this DVD
The stumble is the best track
Thx for the great licks! Gotta listen to thatlive concert again, it’s been a while.

No way you did this! Thank you so much!
Thanks for the video. Any chance for some Alvin Lee in the future? I searched but couldn't find any Late Night Lessons on him. Thanks.

Great lesson. As always. I enjoy so much watching your videos. I like to support as a Patreon subscriber.
Srv soloing secrets
That's a dynamite performance of The Stumble, one of my favourites of his!

Gary moore, joe bonamassa and my good friend corey harris. Made me not really focus on fast notes. But focus on boogie and string bending ❤❤❤
Yes super aggressive. Smokin.

Gary's version of "Red House " is the best version ( other than Jimi's) that you will ever hear , look for it on you tube
Moore is more
No offense bro but you talk more than the View...please put back the bread crumbs/chapters so I can skip the stories and just hear the licks
Just a heads up, but if you think the only thing worth learning are the licks, then you're missing the entire point of this channel and what I'm attempting to do here.

Too much talking!!!! Get down to those licks from the very start, jesus christ!!!
Really?
You must be new here.

Love it!!! Gary Moore always had more in the gas tank!! No matches required for an explosion!
