- The new BMW 7 Series is the world’s first series-produced car that owners will be able to manoeuvre in or out of forward-parking spaces or garages without anyone at the wheel. As such, the Remote Control Parking option allows drivers to access tight parking spaces with ease. The driver initiates the car’s progress forwards into or in reverse out of a space using the likewise newly developed BMW Display Key. While the car is carrying out the semi-automated manoeuvre, the driver watches out for obstacles.

the engine is cold and needs a warm up.
and the guy is standing right behind the exhuast.
Even merc s65 amgs sound horrible when cold, once engines warm up diesels sound and drive beautiful

A V8 turbodiesel is okay and even a 6 cylinder one, but not this tractor.
+E34Benzin There is no 4 cylinder diesels in the 7 series.

Although I find the feature of parking a car with your keyfob nice, I don't know where i would use it. BMW says for tight spots but i avoid parking in tight spots with my Honda SUV so I am certain that I would avoid tight spots with a 100K Bimmer

It's stupid just going forward and backward.
I see there is no added value if it only park on a straight line. However, I still love the car -- its a totally a great experience driving a 7 series

This is the stupidest thing ever! the guy could have drove it himself into a spot 10 times in the time it takes to do this. Gadgets for the sake of gadgets...

But...is it so difficult to move the car a bit ahead when you are still inside? Should I spend more money on this stupid optional just to not drive 2 meters more ahead when I get to the parking lot?
Great idea. Now BMW drivers will be able to annoy even more people by being able to park in tight spaces, which will prevent those parking either side from being able to get into their cars!

Judging by the comments about the car being able to park in tight spaces, I don't think many of you are ready for self driving cars.
Self driving cars will be able to park very close together.
This feature is useful but slow.
I saw a video where it took 35 seconds for the BMW to start moving.
This video doesn't show how long it takes to set the car up before it actually moves.
I will get to the back seat and use the remote control parking system.

Brilliant idea - however, I would not want to park this car next to any other car in the car park!Also for a 7 series - I would prefer the engine to be a silk smooth V8 petrol rather than the diesel - however since the diesel model is much more popular in Europe The US version will probably need to be either a V8 or a V12 version to keep that country happy!

I can't stand diesel anymore! Sounds like a truck. No need for a 100k car to run on diesel. Silk smooth 6, 8 or more cylinders if wanted as a Hybride version or a small size car for the every day use and the lux limousine for the finer moments and the planet is happy!

the car is obviously cold and has just been started. after 10mins of driving the clacketing sound is replaced by a gentle purrr. I have owned a diesel vauxhall and had the same experience. nothing to worry about.

The diesel engine sound is coming the other 78' BMW 728 which is parked on the left side. I know because I own a new 750i.

+Игорь Правдин Парковки становятся всё проблематичнее иногда машину приходиться ставить между двух машин вплотную , так что ты дверь не сможешь открыть и выйти , а тут все вышли заранее и припарковали , думаю с заделом на будущее сделано хотя и сейчас уже нужная вещь

ok its cool and stuff, designed for parking in a very tight spot so the driver can get out. okay, i get it. but it would be much more practical if we can turn left and right, more control on how to park. imagine doing this in a supermarket parking mall, the cars are parked on your side, just going forward and backward would be useless
That is not parking. That is move the car remote forward and back... My Accord do the same thing and open and close the windows. Start engine with my cell phone too. :)

+Asae2 I own a detail business; and I do PDR. I am trained on how to use light to see the smallest indentations. At 1:22, notice how the light from the adjacent BMW's top rear glass trim 'bends' at the dip in sheet metal. I looked at it again just now. With my glasses on. It's there.
