it doesn't matter which one is better. Because I will never own any of them 😂 by the time I might be able to afford one there will be better versions of both 😂
I’m going to say the 7 series better option for me . As owing a s550 and a 750i 2017s the driving experience at night i would definitely take over the s class. It’s mainly you choose tech or elegance. Not forgetting the bmw coming with a display key.
Hakar Doski The BMW interior is probably "sportier" and more modern-looking, but the interior of the Merc looks more refined, expensive and comfortable. Just look at the inside of the B pillar on both cars for example.
Chicken Wing Robert well ... with the massage sits and tablets and everything makes BMW look better ... but after all ... everyone has his own opinion :)
Hakar Doski Yup, the BMW has more technology and probably more features as well. I just like the Merc interior the most. But if I had to choose between the two cars, I would go with the BMW any day. ///M Power bro
Robert California The Merc is also over two years old while the BMW is a brand new model. I think they're facelifting the Mercedes for the 2017 year which will likely put it back in front in terms of....everything.
You guys are like the best combination ever. There's just something about your dynamic that makes it enjoyable to watch... ahhh just so friendly and fun haha. I love cars, just not really luxury cars... but I'm still interested in watching just because you make it fun haha. It's the most unpretentious video about cars that are normally associated with very pretentious customers. ;) It's pretty refreshing to break that image and encourage younger people who can afford them to consider these cars. Great job!! You need to be together all the time kthx haha.
I think you guys both are a great duo of reviewers. Well spoken, knowledgeable and you tell us potential car buyers what we would want to hear. very good. with that said, I will be placing my S63 order soon! Curious how the rumored M7 BMW will be though
Think this is the first review I've watched by you blokes and am impressed... wish I could have been doing your job when I was a relative youngster like you fellows. An enjoyable and informative review, thanks... Can't afford the $$$ for such modern masterpieces of the road but am thankfully much more than happy with my affordable, lovely old W211 E350 Benz :-)
May I give you an advice? When talking about separate parts, try showing them... Like the trunk size, film it for 4-5 secs so we, the mortal ones, can see it :)
Vladimir Dimov I wondered the same thing. Just driving around and talking about features without actually showing them. At least do a proper review, walk around, start up, exhaust notes, interior, trunk space... Do a proper review. We don't want to watch you driving around and talking like two high school mates.
Fantastic! This quick review confirms my exact thoughts about these two luxury car brands. I'm proud to say my dad recently bought the 2016 BMW 740d x-drive and I must say it is indeed ALL about the gadgets in the 7 series. As for the Mercedes, indeed, I totally agree to your analysis here. Not having driven any Mercedes myself before, BUT having experienced it with some friends and family members over the years (not only S-class), Mercedes is just about luxury and craftmanship! It's about setting a standard for the ultimate luxury sedan. It breathes luxury and makes you feel like royalty. That's their goal and they've managed to do so!
I think you missed a fairly substantial part of the 7 series with the rear seat package. You can flip over the seat in front of you to create a sort of leg rest and give you even more space. With that taken into consideration the 7 series definitely wins the battle as far as being driven by someone else.
Gimmick. Coming from a guy who can't even spell the word. Go look up the definition for gimmick and see how stupid you sound. And to think, there's 13 other retards that gave you a thumbs up.
Nabil Hitman Exactly my point. They're more retards in the world. For example, you're going to comment and bandwagon a dude who doesn't know the definition of gimmick, or how to spell it. Says much. Smh.
1st english is not my first langage, i learn it on youtube and it shows, but i always try to be comprehended 2nd that was my opinion, i belive that the 7 series never beat the s class because the 7 series express luxury by fitting the car with as many features as possible which is not bad but luxury is also about excuisit design, and in my opinion the 7 series is lacking a bit, the interior is beautiful but is not as impressive as in the s class. than the 7 serier look like it never knew what it wanted to be, it wants to be a luxury confortable silent car but also sporty and it does both but it doesn't excell in any of them. But this is my opinion and everyone is free to disagree, but i'm not going to call it stupid idiot just because have an opinion different than mine and misspelled a few words. you tube looks to be the perfect place to have interesting conversations but sadly people just insult eachother, here everybody talks and nobody lisen
It seems to me that an about same 7 / S (engine-wise) tend to have a ca 10K price gap, but it's been a while I have last checked... I also think this is more of a historic thing, and you know how much emotion and mocking can be involved when it comes to cars... the 7 series of past decades were indeed a bit shoddy I would say. This one is not, of course, but I do think the S class comes along a lot more stately. Btw, my family is on their 4th BMW, I don't have anything against them. But I would take the S class hands down... right now, I would take any C, E, S class over the BMW equivalent. But that has largely to do with how the release cycles for new models are scheduled for new models... and not what "they" say.
My preferred daily driver to the office is the 2016 S65. Both sport and Lux in one. Yeh the regular S550 like in the video is okay for the average Dr. Internist/General practitioner/Corner clinic owner but us surgeons demand better.
Excellent video! Very well-balanced review of features and impressions. I have owned both an older 7-series and now have a 2007 S-Class, and totally agree with your assessment of the focus of each vehicle. That being said I have found the S-Class to be the finest vehicle ever made. It would be difficult to go back to a BMW, but would take a look again just to be fair next time around. The S550 is just a VERY hard vehicle to top. Thanks very much!
Descent review!! Should have had the presidential s class!! Mercedes needs to catch up, BMW ain't playing!! Luxury cars aren't just about leather and wood anymore!! Peace
maybe....there's some cultural variations...African americans will ride both young folks wise. Black old folks are usually in lexus, E Class, or Cadillacs. Old white guys will drive the S550, so it depends on the market. Also the type of driver. I like speed but i'm not a racer or intersted.
exactly my point. i LOVE the S Class, but the moment when Mercedes has released the new E and the C that looks too damn similar to the S, thats it. the deal breaker. its a luxury thingy, i want it to look different, looks exclusive.
+Sid Acidic I completely agree...BUT...as a BMW fanboy i'm worried that the next 5-Series will look a lot like this 7-series aswell... Aside from the Gesture Control bullshit i'd still take the 750i :)
We're talking bout the S class why you dickheads talk about the CLA and A class. Those were made for people that wants a budget luxury car. No one is going to say VW or Renault is a luxury entry car. VW is known for its practicality and family friendly car. Renaults got sporty, but the car doesn't have that high of a budget for luxury. When you talk about Mercedes, it's always about the S class for its luxury and comfortable ride. And Mercedes then (as always) put things from the S class to other classes as well.
The BMW is more flashy and sporty and the Mercedes is more discreet and classy kind of like comparing a Gold Rolex president to a white gold Patek Phillipe Calatrava.
Jonathan Interesting analogy. However, I think the brand differential between Patek and Rolex is probably way bigger than that between a Merc and Beamer. Because in between Patek and Rolex, you could literally squeeze in at least half a dozen watch brands like VC, AP, A Lange, Breguet, Blancpain (and potentially Piaget, JLC, etc.), but there aren’t really any brands in between Merc and Beamer, if you say Audi, Volvo, Lexus and etc., that’s arguably lower band, if you say Rolls Royce, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, they are in a higher band.
I really liked this review. It's nice to see an opinion on these cars from someone who can actually afford them. Unlike most of the auto "journalists" out there who only have access to cars of this caliber for about a week or so. My take on this video: No doubt BMW has done a great job on the new 7er. But one must also keep in mind that the W222 is almost half way through it's current life. The fact that a decision between these cars is too close to call is telling of how good the S-class actually is.
Awesome comparison, thank you both for that. Equipement equivalent, I think that the S600 will blow out the 7 series any day of the week, just as the X6 M blows out the GLE63 S too. Both of them are the kings of their segments but I would choose the S600 or the S63 over the 7 series, even if I can't afford any of them. But thanks for the comparison, brilliant work.
Vehicle Virgins, I enjoyed the car review to start with. There are a couple things that I would add to these reviews. When you talk about any features about a car show us it. For example when you guys mentioned the trunk size between the two cars, show us how much of a difference the two are.
Really love the balanced and unbiased review of both cars. Have to say if you're going to buy a top of the line car which focuses on luxury, then it would make more sense to go for the s class. There are other bmw models with a similar amount of 'cutting edge technology' as the 7 series
As a valet for fine dining restaurants, the drivers of an S-Class tend to be a little older and traditional in nature. 7-Series drivers tend to be a little younger then the S-Class crowd. They said it right in the video. The S-Class is kind of noticeable where as the 7-Series blends in. I can't recall anyone ever requesting VIP parking for a 7-Series but it's pretty common for S-Class owners to ask to be parked upfront.
Merc for old people , I'll take the 7 series all day. & I see some people saying everyone just lease these cars. Ok? Mad you can't lease a car like this ? Haha
+jet sky ok ? This video was about the s class & 7 series. The gt r has nothing to do with these cars because it's in its own class LOL & about 100,000 more so I don't get your point. Of course a sports car would beat a luxury sedan LOL
Dont do it guy.... Bought one will never do it again... Getting your money back on resale now on it not even close to possible.... Not only that... the new ones sounds like they still haven''t fixed the issues based on the forums... so Im not biting on BMW V8 cars anymore.
I like that ; the BMW looks larger inside mostly because of the very light color of the leather seats, roof, etc, instead the example of the Merc is very dark, and looks more oppressive inside. Brilliant choice of the music by Chris Zabriskie
Very good comparison, I wish you had a S class with rear seat package! I am very interested to see how the rear leg space compare between the too. I also noticed that the BMW is not an LI version. Have they dropped that naming scheme? Thanks!
Looks like Mercedes paid them for this review to bash the 7 series ,they brought the 750i not the 750 LI to compare with the top class s550 not a fare comparison
Overall nice review. Just a few points about the BMW 750: 1--The spare tire is an option. It's not necessary since the car comes with run-flat tires. In the standard config (without spare) the trunk is very spacious. 2--You guys didn't mention the light carpet that illuminates the ground around the doors when the doors are unlocked. It's pretty slick. 3--The 750 does have shift paddles. Maybe they're part of a package. I agree that the Mercedes leans towards classic styling and luxury while the BMW leans towards tech and performance. I went with the BMW and am very happy with it.
Very true about the Mercedes and Benz part. But however if I had the money, I'd still give BMW a try. It's no where as luxury as Benz since it's a BMW, which wasn't meant for luxury like Benz in the first place like you said. I feel like BMW still did a pretty good job on this new gen. I've seen a few on the road, it's nowhere near eye catching as a Mercedes but it still has some quality to it. The interior I'm not so sure since I haven't seen neither in real person but I'd imagine Benz is way better. But judging from the pics BMW has a pretty unique feeling to it this time. Although it might be completely different in real life.
I've driven my boss's Mercedes CLS-550 several times and all I can tell everyone is that the ride is just amazing, absolutely NO bumps on city streets that you would totally feel if you were driving for instance a Chrysler 200, Altima, etc...
I went from the S500 to the S550 4Matic, (in addition to having a couple of the little 2 seater SL's at the same time....but have totally switched into a 2016 Audi A8L Quattro Executive pkg and have to say...TREMENDOUS. Just wanted to throw in a little shout out for Audi :-). Good job on your video guys and congrats on your own nice rides as well......👍🏼
This must be one of the most balanced and objective comparative reviews. Brilliantly done and thank you.
+HERBERT leitner Thank you!
+Vehicle Virgins you should do this more. Less script, more conversation.

Lol he did it flipped
The S Class arrives with a presence that requires no fanfare. It embodies luxury worldwide.
The inside of our S-class is like a goddam night club
for real
Wow dude. your page is so american
I'm a huge BMW fan, but that S Class' interior is amazing, especially since it's all black.
750i: new modern luxury
S 550: classic modern luxury
I'm a BMW guy but BMW just can't out-Mercedes Mercedes. S-Class won this hands down.
+Chris Sorreda Damn right
Bruh imagine him bringing the S65 AMG it would smoke the B
+Chris Sorreda
I think it kinda depends on whether you'll drive yourself (BMW) or wheather you'll be driven (MB)
+Abdulla Kardan s63 smokes the s65
n0b0dy_ep1c How isn't the S65 more powerful?
I find the S-Class to ooze style and class, while the 7er seems to be trying a bit too hard, its design appears confused.
i want to see some bloopers from the making of these...imagine you have a few funny moments.
+9697JAY Haha we do have some funny mess-ups! We should compile them into a vid
+Vehicle Virgins agreed
+Vehicle Virgins is there going to be a CCC coming out this week? really enjoy em. probably one of my favorite bits of content you create.

+Totally Winning Pro Gamer yes 😉
Like for 2016 Mercedes S550?

I actually like these kinds of videos when Buddha is reviewing cars
Just picked up my 7 series today and I absolutely love it. I see why they call it the ultimate driving machine
Let's vote.
Mercedes S550

If I wanted luxury I'd take the S Class. If I wanted performance, I'd take the M3 instead.
The M3 isn't even in this video.
Yes!
+Totally Winning Pro Gamer he didn't say it was.
PCMasterRace Yes, but the M3 is completely irrelevant in this video. Maybe if he brought it up properly, I wouldn't have to correct him.
+CNHabs if wishes were horses, then beggars would ride them
The 750 should only be compared to the A8 in my opinion. The S550 is in a class of it's own.
wow thanks for the video i think i made my mind and i will buy a Ford Mondeo Vignale yeeey
I choose The s-class over any other luxury sedan like a8 750 or xj . Just iconic
Deez Nutz
yeah but not that great like the s class
I think the S Class is the better car
Simple answer: BMW for more sophisticated tech. Mercedes for classic luxury.
I don't think so luxury car buyers watch this kind of reviews and decide which one to buy. They just buy it.
i find this helpful as my wife wants a bmw 7 series and im trying to figure out if its worth it

with that said, I will be placing my S63 order soon! Curious how the rumored M7 BMW will be though
The 7 series has everything the S-class has to offer and more??? I don't see the star logo anywhere on it.
Yeah, they improved it with the BMW logo ;)
aaaaaah now it's spinning fast, I see...

What do you mean star logo?
i prefer star over for some blue and white triangle thingy idk. it looks so tacky....
I agree, these guys are good, balanced review and very easy to follow/ watch. Great quality guys.
of course, MERCEDES

They both are great cars in every aspect. My preference I would take the Bmw.
thanks vehicle virgins this is probably one of the best intro's and video content ive ever seen!
the numbers are facts. S class outsells BMW 7 series 2 to 1 for a reason. Plus the S63 AMG is much better than S550.
Awesome review.....
I would be very well pleased with the S550 without question!
The BMW 7 has only 4 seats?
The BMW looks really nice.

That Mercedes interior though... absolutely stunning
It's unreal how much better the BMW looks, both inside & out.
Its very simple.
Mercedes Benz S Class = Old money.
BMW 7 Series = Young(er) money.
The BMW is more flashy so that probably explains why.
maybe....there's some cultural variations...African americans will ride both young folks wise. Black old folks are usually in lexus, E Class, or Cadillacs. Old white guys will drive the S550, so it depends on the market. Also the type of driver. I like speed but i'm not a racer or intersted.

at 12:18 when they were in the S-class, why were they showing the exterior of the BMW driving on the road...?
exactly my point. i LOVE the S Class, but the moment when Mercedes has released the new E and the C that looks too damn similar to the S, thats it. the deal breaker. its a luxury thingy, i want it to look different, looks exclusive.
+Sid Acidic I completely agree...BUT...as a BMW fanboy i'm worried that the next 5-Series will look a lot like this 7-series aswell...
Aside from the Gesture Control bullshit i'd still take the 750i :)
only if you could combine the two... The s550 has amazing exterior and 750 has amazing interior
BMW is all about having the most advanced UI on the market. Mercedes Benz cares about the driving experience and is more old fashioned
hate to say it.. but BMW beats out the Benz with this new model. its not even close either.
don't make people laugh dude... mercedes is class and it will always be
So a CLA with a crappier interior than a golf, or the A Class that uses renault engines... yeah, pure class lmao
dont forget you can get it without leather

Vehicle Virgins, I enjoyed the car review to start with. There are a couple things that I would add to these reviews. When you talk about any features about a car show us it. For example when you guys mentioned the trunk size between the two cars, show us how much of a difference the two are.
I would buy the BMW and lease the S class.
Thanks so much Parker and Eddie for the awesome best quality videos. I love these videos please keep doing these../ thanks
why does Eddie never make videos on his own?
Yo I’ve been here since like 200k dang vehicle virgins has come a long way
when you say that the mercedes has the same looks in all her models u forgot the BMW that all it series are identical !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So true my friend, I think that people expect more from Mercedes even though they all look great
What about the quality type of leather? Are they the same?
When you're spending S8 money, you buy an S8.
Really love the balanced and unbiased review of both cars. Have to say if you're going to buy a top of the line car which focuses on luxury, then it would make more sense to go for the s class. There are other bmw models with a similar amount of 'cutting edge technology' as the 7 series
So BMW is fake luxury, and Mercedes has more quality
yeah
+Retrohai789 BMW= Gimmicks
Early 2000s bmw m3s or m5s are legit cars... anything else I wouldn't buy no matter what
WTF... GO DRIVE UR TOYOTA AND STFU
Manuel Va
True people with bmws need to stick with toyotas if they want more luxury
Haha
+Johan Pyssling go up to a black guy & say that don't be brave on UA-cam
you go buy any bmw you can, ill take the AMG GT R and destroy you anytime i like
+jet sky ok ? This video was about the s class & 7 series. The gt r has nothing to do with these cars because it's in its own class LOL & about 100,000 more so I don't get your point. Of course a sports car would beat a luxury sedan LOL
Dont do it guy.... Bought one will never do it again... Getting your money back on resale now on it not even close to possible....
Not only that... the new ones sounds like they still haven''t fixed the issues based on the forums... so Im not biting on BMW V8 cars anymore.
+Johan Pyssling cowardly merc owner))
I like that ; the BMW looks larger inside mostly because of the very light color of the leather seats, roof, etc, instead the example of the Merc is very dark, and looks more oppressive inside.
Brilliant choice of the music by Chris Zabriskie
You talk about the cargo space but you don't show the actual cargo space, wtf?
Very good comparison, I wish you had a S class with rear seat package! I am very interested to see how the rear leg space compare between the too. I also noticed that the BMW is not an LI version. Have they dropped that naming scheme? Thanks!
S class all day.
you can't go wrong with either one of these precision machines.
Looks like Mercedes paid them for this review to bash the 7 series ,they brought the 750i not the 750 LI to compare with the top class s550 not a fare comparison
I said the same thing
***** Oh wow no more LI thanks I didn't know that
+jay syed I believe there is 760 Li M or smth like that
Overall nice review.
But it's still very bland after all.
+Jake Woodbury U sound like u on drugs, BMW is way better than benz, these guys manufacture the Tech on Rolls Royce, dont tell them about Benz.
Lincoln Continental: "I'm still relevant, right guys? Guys?"
Yeah, I prefer the BMW. So beautiful inside.
Awesome review, how do you guys get your hands on some of these cars for review ?
Mercedes Benz 100%
Ναι βρε γιάννη ; :P
NO BMW 700%
When are you going to make more videos of your S Class
bmw looks like its still from last decade
Roger Lee it looks way newer on the inside guy from 3 years ago
I just bought a 2004 mazda rx8, you think you can review this car?!?!?
S8 wins overall
