    I’m gonna install this tomorrow, but this is the best video I’ve seen so far

      Glad you found the video helpful!! If you need any more details check the link in the description. It'll take you to cobbs instructions.

      @@alexs_wrex I do have one question, so I install the intake and then the tune

    • @alexs_wrex
      @alexs_wrex  2 роки тому

      @@danielmaurici8220 Yes, intake first and then install the tune. Make sure you have the Stage 1+ tune downloaded on your accessport ahead of time. I'd recommend connecting the battery to a charging pack if you have one while installing the tune. It's quick to flash the tune but the last thing you'd want is for you battery to die mid tune.

    I used your guide for my install. Thank you! The worst part was removing those damn clips under the car!! Totally worth it in the end, I love the new sound!

      Glad the install was helpful! Yea those clips are pain. Get a kit with spare clips, I've broken a decent amount over the years lol

    I'm installing this today. I agree with Daniel, best video I've seen so far. Did you have the stock exhaust for the sound clips?

    • @alexs_wrex
      @alexs_wrex  2 роки тому

      Thanks, glad you found the video helpful. I have the Remark boso axleback exhaust installed my car, so it's louder than stock. If your car has the stock exhaust you should still be able to hear the turbo spool up and bypass valve when you let off the gas.

      Nice! You'll enjoy driving around with it installed. I have a downpipe on my car now so I don't really hear the intake as much but it was a blast to drive around when I had just my axle backs.

      @@alexs_wrex I can’t wait. Got the 2020 new in October 2019, 😎, just recently got an AP a few months ago. Got an axle back as soon as I got it, sitting on coils for about 2 yrs. Probably not doing much too it after the intake. Just wanna look good and sound good. Don’t feel like dumping money in order too reach 350-400. I’ll trade in and get an S550 🤣

      @@ThatSubieDude Yea the car is still fun with an intake and axle backs. I'm pushing 300 whp and 315 wtq but you have to have every bolt on and then get a protune/etune. Car is a lot of fun now though.

    Got check engine light code p0102
    "'Mass or volume air flow a circuit low"

    • @alexs_wrex
      @alexs_wrex  2 роки тому

      I would just clean out the MAF sensor, check to make sure that none of the pins on the connection are bent, and make sure that the cable is plugged in fully.
      Make sure that the extender cable isn't cut, I know that some people have had issues with the extender rubbing against the airbox and getting cut.
      Worse case you might either need a new extender cable or MAF sensor.

    I installed it today and wondering will anything go wrong if its tilted to the left and not straight?

    • @alexs_wrex
      @alexs_wrex  2 роки тому

      The filter is tilted? Can you straighten out the intake tube anymore? As long as the filter is 1 inch from the end of the tube I think you should be fine. Just make sure your readings look good. AF Learning 1 should be +/-16 on the FA WRX's, the closer to 0 the better but it will fluctuate. As long as your DAM stays at 1 you're fine.

    Might be a dumb question, but do you need to get a tune? still havent had a chance to get my Access port was planning on getting an Intake first

    • @alexs_wrex
      @alexs_wrex  2 роки тому

      I mean you can run the stock tune with the intake but car might throw a CEL. The stock tune isn't calibrated for the Cobb intake, so air flow and temp will be different. Just don't push the car too hard until you get the accessport and have the Stage 1+ tune installed.

    • @alexs_wrex
      @alexs_wrex  2 роки тому +1

      Cobb has a bundle that comes with the intake and accessport. If you wait for the yearly sale you can get them for 10% off. I think the sale is around black Friday.

    • @alexs_wrex
      @alexs_wrex  3 роки тому

      I'm not 100% sure, if you unclip the places where the map harness is secured it might reach. I know you can get the extension by itself online. I think it's like $40 but maybe you can find it for cheaper on ebay or Facebook marketplace.

    Got mine installed a 2 months ago. Started getting a p0172 code running rich causing horrible idling. rechecked the intake install hoses and clamps were fine and intake placement was proper. wondering if you ran into an issue yet.

    • @alexs_wrex
      @alexs_wrex  2 роки тому

      I haven't had any issues with my intake.
      How many miles does your car have and how many miles have you put since installing the intake?
      Try cleaning the maf sensor. If the sensor is dirty that can definitely throw off your readings.
      You can also try re-flashing your car and have the ECU re-learn.
      Check to see if the filter is too dirty and needs to be cleaned.
      It could also be a bad oxygen sensor and have nothing to do with the intake system.
      I'm putting up a video tomorrow on how to clean the filter and MAF sensor if you need it for reference.

    • @alexs_wrex
      @alexs_wrex  2 роки тому

      @@enjoying-vfl5097 It could have been a dirty MAF sensor. Someone commented on my filter cleaning video saying their car was running rich and had a rough idle. They repositioned the filter and cleaned the MAF sensor and the car's been running fine now.

      @@alexs_wrex 13k miles only had the intake on for about the last 1000. Problem would disappear shortly after a reflash but reappear later. figured it was tune not playing nicely with my car so i got it protuned. Problem came back after doing minor pulls (30-40% throttle) so i took off the intake and reinstalled it for the 5th time. its been over a week and the problem hasnt come up yet. Either i clamped too hard and the intake hose bent inwards or intake filter was off ever so slightly.

    • @SkollGamesGames

      Is that with the tune you need for having a intake, the car is very sensitive and can’t run this intake on Stock tune without having hunting issues and loss of power.

    Should be the same for a 2007 wrx, correct? Lol thank you for the video

    • @alexs_wrex
      @alexs_wrex  Рік тому

      So the 2007 WRX has an EJ engine, similar to all the STI's. The intake install will be similar to an STI. The 2015-2021 WRX's have the FA20 Engine, turbo is in a different spot so the intake is routed differently. On a 2007 it's a lot easier, the intake tubing is on top.
