How to make +100HP over Stock in a 2015-2021 Subaru WRX
Here I'll tell you how to "reliably" make +100HP over stock to the crank on a 2015-2021 Subaru WRX. There's always risk when modifying cars but even a stock car can have engine/transmission issues.
As long as you maintain your car properly, don't beat on it all the time, and get a proper tune with any performance mods, you should be fine. Just make sure you have some money aside in case something happens.
These power levels are very attainable and the stock engine/trans can handle this no problem. As of the recording of this video I've been pro-tuned for 2.5 years and have put 25k miles on my car. No issues to talk about and the car runs better than stock.
If you are too worried about your WRX handling any extra power or torque then just leave it stock. This video is for those who are itching for some extra power but don't want to go wild with a built engine, larger turbo...etc.
Parts I have: (1) Cobb Accessport, (2) Cobb Catted & Resonated GESI Downpipe, (3) Cobb Boost Control Solenoid, (4) Process West Verticooler, (5) Remark Resonated Catback with Remark Boso Axleback section, (6) Cobb Big SF Intake, (7) ADD Catch Cans.

2:08 Second Mod - GESI Catted Downpipe
2:35 Third Mod - Electronic Boost Control Solenoid
3:11 Fourth Mod - Intercooler
4:08 Fifth Mod - Catback Exhaust (Not Necessary)
5:15 Sixth Mod - Intake (Not Necessary)
6:04 Seventh Mod - AOS or Catch Cans (Not Necessary)
7:26 Bonus Mod - Flex Fuel Kit (E85 tune will get you similar power to what I make)
8:09 Final Mod - EGR and TGV Deletes (Not Recommended)

No drive modes with the wheel underneath the drive shifter knob? I have a 21, before android os. Just hold the climate makes you select how much you want to change. Als needles in front are customisable within the screen options in my 21. Not so much but 4 different styles i believe
Don’t be that guy that takes a Camry to the track. 👀
Summary: He doesn't like it Saved you time.
Literally made another video pointing out 5 things I like about this car as well. To me these are the low points.
Have to say the theromostat sucks how do u get past ful hi heat when u turn on the front defroster wtf
Just bought a 2020 honda accord 2.0t fuckin love man ! Went from honda accord 2002 coupe had it for 6 years still have it now but passing it down to my little brother 😎
Illegal to be hands free bruh. Not FSD 🤦
Don't recall a specific law that says both hands need to be on the wheel at all times? Monitoring what's going around the car while it steers for you for 30sec-1 minute is not really hands free.
Now who’s putting a Toyota Camry on the track? 😑 let’s be serious…
Toyotas hybrid models are actually cheaper to maintain. Tons of high mileage examples on original batteries. Brakes don’t wear as much, engine isn’t pushed as hard, and the transmission is a simple power-split device that is bulletproof.
I’m sorry but the TRD was terrible value for its money. It was an SE with a body kit and V6.
Hit the nail on the head. Give me a 4cyl Naturally aspirated that can run forever and I can work on myself. This is a pass for me now.
Right, at least give the option. You're not alone, a lot of people don't want a hybrid.
The Harmon kardon sound system is horrible
Why do ppl love stupid loud cars???? That consumes fuel like hell at this hard times!!!.. ..lame!!!!
What?
It is more expensive to insure. What happens when you want to sell it after 10 years and no battery warranty?? Who wants to buy a used car tha may need a new battery that cost thousands of dollars?? I was going to trade my 2010 for a new one….. I’ll get a Mazda cx5
People just can’t be happy man always complaining and comparing wake up man
There's a linked video where I also go over 5 great things about this car. These are just the 5 things I didn't like. It's still a great car overall but not perfect. I can still be critical about a good car.
The only thing I hate about this Camry is that it is priced at US$180 000 in my country. Of course in Singapore! Where else...
$180,000??? Are you for real??
Lane trace assist was the first thing I turned off. Absolutely obnoxious
Lol tell me about it
It sounds that way inside cabin because they come without resonator and straight piped stock
Lol, you're right. Makes so much sense.
Took ur camry to the track???
Lol no, but the TRD one is actually trackable if you want. There's people out there who have taken it. My point is there was a Camry for everyone, a broad spectrum. There's no engine options and less trim options this time around. So there's a group of buyers that will look elsewhere.
Lots of people taking the TRD on canyon rds?
Tbh I would. Windy roads are fun with a car that handles well.
I’m so excited to get my Mustang next year !! Smoke grey please!!
Been driving my brand new Accord for 15 days ...still running on half a tank of gas lol.. love it
They have a recall on the fuel pump it’s gonna start burning a little more gas
I wish they had reserved the 2.0T for the Sport trim and the hybrid models for the EX & Touring model
That would have made the most sense tbh.
The transmission is a dealer breaker. I could get used to the non touch screen, had that in many other brands in the past. And most 3rd rows suck in this category.
Overall, it's still a pretty good SUV though. It's surprisingly fun to drive.
Complaining like a toddler
Lol, I literally just pointed out 5 things I didn't like. Haters going to hate 🤷
This Camry looks way better than the previous gen… looks a lot like a Lexus
Debatable, I'm not a huge fan of the looks. But as I see more and more of them it's not as bad. But it's purely personal preference.
Bahut hi shaandaar topic author, and interview
Thanks!
You can turn off the electric nanny feature.
Good to know 👍
Stop the trd thing, it s slower than a accord that has much less hp
By .1 seconds. Accord 2.0T had more torque and weighed less. The Toyota Camry is one of the last sedans with an NA V6. Everything is turbocharged or hybrid nowadays. You can't beat the response from an NA engine.
You just don’t like the mustang.
Lol, the link in the video literally goes over 5 things I like and dislike about this car. The good and the bad. I praise this car for a lot of its features but it has shortcomings too. Plus the ecoboost is not a "real" mustang so there's that
You dumb
They should never have gotten rid of the V6!
I know right!
Great color combo and wheel package. I have a red one.
Yea, I really love the way this car looks. Nice, the red with these wheels really pops!
The best thing is go and ask taxi drivers who drives camry everyday all weather in any situation dealing with traffic ask those drivers .Also ask uber divers who drivers camry who ever owns camry than ull have better knowledge about this legendary car .i owned 2 before and ill buy again no regrets.
The car is not perfect and I'm just pointing out 5 things I don't like about the new one. In the linked video I talked about how the new Camry is still a great car. But there are no options. It's only sold in hybrid form and there isn't a variant with more power. For taxis and Ubers it's great and doesn't affect them. But there is a decent portion of people who do not want to deal with hybrids still. There is no Camry for those people so they'll look elsewhere.
Hyundai and Kia have been on the top 5 most reliable brands in the last 4 years according to consumer reports.
They have improved a lot throughout the years. But I know a lot of people with Hyundai/Kia's who've had some serious issues. Not saying every car will, but I hear about more issues with these cars compared to the Honda or Toyota equivalents.
It's still an excellent vehicle.😊
Don't get me wrong, it's still a great car. Just pointing out 5 things that I don't like. I made a video pointing out the 5 things I love about this car as well.
Really wanna get a new E TUNE on my FA WRX limited so far full rebuild ACL racing main bearings drilled and ported oil jurnals for bearings upgraded heads from aluminum to steel valves upgraded oil pump 93 tune INTAKE and full grim speed cat back all the way back no cat no mufflers sti short shifter clutch master clutch kit. Process wess full race billet aluminum intake manifold just waiting to get the nord storm tunable injectors and Nord storm HP fuel pump and 450 LPH tank pump installed there sitting in my shed with the TGV delete and avo vertical mount intercooler and get another tune . Currently have the forced performance blue ball bearing full race turbo just saving up for the manifold and waste gates to get the turbo installed . Always catching them v8s off guard 😇🙃
God damn dude. You are going all out, this thing sounds like a beast! 💪 Must be a ton of fun to drive!
Just trying to hit 300hp. Almost there, Good info
Nice, some extra power really makes this car fun to drive. I have no regrets.
Great review, i currently own a 2017 S90 and it made me fall in love with the Volvo brand. I’m really glad you brought up the fact that Volvo touchscreens make you take extra steps just to change one tiny setting, it seems trivial at times especially for 2016-2021 models where it has the old (and SLOW) software (Volvo Sensus) that hasn’t gotten support since Volvo changed to Google integration. But thats my personal opinion. Thanks for the info on the S60, definitely one of the best reviews i’ve watched.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked the review! I've driven the 2015 XC60 and I remember that whole infotainment situation, not the easiest to use. I like to change between drive modes so having it buried in the infotainment system is a bit annoying. Overall I still think the S60 is a good car, but I wish it had more standard features.
agreed the 8th gen is better looking let's be honest
Welp , some toyota model oversea also use paddle shift for regen . But for some reason toyota japan mostly sell hybrid car with with paddle shift for transmission . Idk why maybe they don't like it..... (Idk know how you guys feel since i still drive my manual kei car)
My personal car is manual, that's my preferred transmission. I think paddle shifters are a gimmick but they make auto transmission cars a little more fun. I drove the new Camry recently and that one still used the paddle shifters to shift the transmission.
HOLY FUCK YOURE CRYBABY
Too bad hybrids have less maintenance than their gas counterparts. Maybe talk to a technician before you spread misinformation.
Never said the hybrid had more maintenance....and in general it's easier to replace components in an NA engine car than hybrid components. Plus hybrid components are expensive. Once the battery goes it's not even worth paying to get it replaced. Toyota could keep the hybrid but they should also a have an NA engine option. A lot of people don't want to deal with a hybrid or electric. That's a large portion of buyers that will look elsewhere. I also made a video listing 5 things I really like about the car. It's a great car, but I think the previous gen had better options.
@ doesn’t matter if the hybrid components are expensive if you never need to replace those expensive components. You mentioned the hybrid battery being too expensive to replace. That’s simply not true. In general Hybrid batteries are 1/10th the size of full EV batteries and much cheaper to work on. I won’t bore you with all the details of hybrid experiences that have come through my shop. But just know Lexus and Toyota hybrids are cheaper to keep long term compared to their gas counterparts.
Hybrid just better
Not in all cases.
Bro, it's a Camry. These complaints are unreasonable.
It my opinion 🤷. Not everyone will agree with me but a good amount will as well. I just like having options. That's all.
That guy is crazy
@@alexs_wrex get a Lexus
@@Heyitsyourfriendrobert Honestly, they have better Engine Options, Trims and just as reliable.
@@alexs_wrex Yes they do and for the price point, The 2025 Camry is a Huge step up and what you get for 41,800 is a Phenomenal deal plus it looks so classy now.
you are too young to appreciate reliability and ease of maintenance
I've worked on Toyota's and Hondas from the 90s and early 2000's. Those were reliable and very easy to maintain, at least they seemed to me.
8:23 Thought you were filling her with diesel! 🤣
Lmao nah. A diesel conversion would be wild on these cars though.
The previous generation of the car allowed adjustment of driving modes, customization of the instrument panel themes, and even displayed song lyrics on the dashboard. Now, all of these features are gone.
They went pretty bare bones with the car this time around. If it was significantly cheaper I'd let it slide but at this price point it's disappointing. You can get so much more from its competitors.
@@alexs_wrexThe production in South Carolina of the S60 has been discontinued. Volvo didn't go out with a bang here since they're pushing EV's now. Better get you a previous model S60, or an S90, for the bells and whistles.
Went to go see this car and was completely underwhelmed by its interior and technology. I wouldn’t call Volvo a luxury at this point.
Yea out of the box it's lacking a lot. You need to add on features that are standard in other cars. Especially at this price point. The car drives well, looks good and still has a lot of safety tech/features but unless you are a die hard Volvo fan I can't really recommend this over its competition.
Check other reviews before believing.
I literally made a video pointing out 5 things I like about the new Camry as well. People just latch onto this and think I'm just bashing on the car. It's a good car but it's not perfect and there are things I think the previous generation did better. But yes, everyone should be checking other reviews as well. Don't just watch one video. Get multiple perspectives. But if someone praises this generation as the best ever they are lying. There are things that won't appeal to a good number of shoppers this time around.
Whoever buys a TRD Camry to take it to the track is the worst statement I've ever hear and the dumbest thing as well...lol This GEN is the best looking by more then a mile...
There's literally a whole community of people out there who track their TRD Camry's and modify them. It's a decent base to start with for a bigger sedan and it performs pretty well and it's reliable. This gen is not the best looking. But that's subjective.
