Nice bike, man! I love that color. Odyssey purple pedals and some mushroom grips are pretty cheap, and they'd look great on it. I love the geometry on my XL26 Hutch. It's great for wheelies, and it's comfortable in the air, too. Enjoy ❤
Right on! Thanks for the tips. I have some Odyssey twisted pedals on my S&M and they are nice for the price. And purple grips are a must. I agree on the geometry of these things. It feels much more nimble than my 26” GT. I’m really loving it. Gonna try and get it up to the pump track soon. ❤️
Awesome build!! Thanks for doing a video for us common people who don’t have sponsors or have a ton of $$. Hutch has been on my list, might have to look again at their 24s. Enjoy the event! Hope you will post a video!! 🤙🤙🤙
Right on!!! Yeah, this was definitely a budget conscious build. No $400 pedals on this one 🤣 Thanks, I hope to make at least a couple videos from the event 👊
Thanks! You’re not the only one to point this out. I ignorantly trusted Calvin over at Park Tool too much I guess, as their video recommended locktite as a first choice, then anti-seize compound, and then grease as a last resort for euro BB’s. 🤷
badass Matt! I'm just waiting on parts for mine. i got my Haro sealed bearing alloy silver wheelset from planet for 100, if you're still looking for an inexpensive set, they have 19 left in stock. i'll shoot you pictures of mine when i'm done. probably in a month or so. one package from porkchop has an estimated arrival date of 3/15. sometimes sucks to live in Hawaii
Thanks!!! I have those Haro wheels on my 26” GT Performer. They are super nice for the price. I might get a set for my Hollywood, but I’m broke right now 🤣 Yes, please send pictures when you get yours built up. I’d love to see it. 🤩 Yeah, I hear you about shipping to Hawaii, but at least you guys have much better riding weather than we have here in Missouri. It’s either super hot and humid in the summer and cold in the winter. 😎
Rad bike!! Please do yourself a huge favor and put grease on those bb cups. I've battled removing several Euro bb's that had thread lock, I'm talking hours of battle, soaking the entire shell in penetrating oil overnight, etc.
Interesting. I watched a video from Calvin over at Park Tool where he recommended thread lock as a first choice, anti-seize compound second, and then grease as a last resort. But I certainly don’t want to repeat the removal battles you went through. Thanks for the tip!
@@TheNostalgicNeighborhood Calvin is giving people terrible advice, lol. Live and learn, everyone has their preference. I'll never, never, never use it on a bottom bracket. I've had issues with several different bikes, recently some Thrones, and also a 2014 Fairdale, all because of thread lock on the bb threads. I will say that all the problems I've experienced are on a certain type of cup that is very cheap and breaks easily. The two-sided one you have will probably be easy to get off.
Matt, I've received my Street beat F/F/H and I'm ready to start buying the parts. But I've come across a Profile Rocket frame and forks in chrome and looks tidy, £380 ($484) do you think this is a too good opportunity to pass up???
Looking at sold items on the BMX Museum website. They seem to go for $350 to $450. I’m not into mid-school so I don’t know anything about this frame, if there are versions that are more valuable than others. But based on a couple searches and what you said, it doesn’t seem like too good of an opportunity to pass up. But I’m no expert 🤷 Congrats on receiving the Street Beat parts. How exciting!!!

In the Trick Star world, I know the US made ones are worth a little more than the Japanese ones. But I’d say any vintage Hutch still has great value. The modern JDB ones have held their value well too. If you have original aerospeed cranks, those are worth a small fortune.
Honestly, I’m not a gearing ratio expert. Sort of depends if you want a higher top speed or more pedal power. On my 20” S&M, I have a 25T sprocket with a 16t freewheel and it’s fine for freestyle.
@TheNostalgicNeighborhood Thanks Matt for your response, I'm not looking for high speed, the equivalent to my 25/9, responsiveness. Plus its not very flat near me.
