Just takes me back to when I was heavily invested into watching the NBA. Yeah I still watch now but idk if its age, or really whatever reason I'm honestly not sure.. I just loved watching the NBA from the early 90s up until about 2003. Granted I still watch and love the game but I dont feel as invested in games. LOW said that the Heat made quick work of the Magic in the 1997 first round. Well, needing 5 games in a 5 game series doesn't sound like making quick work of a team to me. Sure, it took legendary performances from Penny Hardaway in games 3 and 4 to get to a game 5 but except for that 2000 first round sweep of Detroit and being lucky that half of the Knicks team got suspended in their lone series win against them, it seemed more like Miami was struggling mightily to get past opponents in the playoffs in their 1997-2001 run
Great video, as a heat fan I suffered through all this... still seeking therapy for that Allan Houston shot.. lets not forget Mashburn was a no show against Chicago
Probably the most forgotten powerhouse team in the 1990's NBA Eastern Conference, the only time people think about the late 90's Miami Heat teams is their playoffs rivalry with the New York Knicks where they have four straight years of playoffs meetings.
truth truth and the Knicks have been the laughing stock of the sports world for the last 20 years while Miami got multiple rings and countless playoff runs...
@3:00 Quick work of the Magic in 97? u crazy? Penny put them on the chopping block and had em on their heels to 5 games... this was actually a warning sign of things to come
More of these! There are great teams that never got their ring, and still had a profound effect on the league. In particular, the teams coached by Rick Adleman who's offensive style and schemes were incredibly influential on the game today. His Kings and Blazers teams were incredible. Hell, D'Antoni said in his 2017 coach of the year speech "I've stolen so much from Rick Adleman over the years that it's embarrassing."
Hey LOW, I’ve got a team ideal for research: the Trail Blazers from 1998-2003 aka the Jail Blazers. That team was so talented and almost prevented the Shaq-Kobe dynasty from happening until they collapsed in game 7 in 2000. But look at their roster and they were stacked.
no one mentions the 2000 ron harper game winner in portland game 3 1-1 with game 4 in portland...changed the entire series ...la loses that game the blazers win in 6...game 7 was never suppose to happen
this video makes me appreciate what jordan did in the 90’s even more so. these teams in the 90’s were so well build and very physical especially in the Eastern Conference. many teams have had bad match ups in nba history but against mike there was no bad match because he overcame any obstacles. the small intangibles he possessed were incredible and i think that’s what made Tim Duncan an incredible winner aswell. their fundamentals of the game were unmatched & that separates a runner up and the winner in close series/games
Agreed Duncan being able to beat the Shaq-Kobe Lakers in '03 always stands out to me. Very few could overcome a tough obstacle like those Laker teams but Duncan found a way.
i dont know where else to post this. but its about time someone does a video on the amount of time LeBron walks and or stands around during a game. ive seen so many times how the announcers pump up james and say how many minutes he plays in playoff series yet everytime i watch james he is literally standing flat footed with his arms at his side on offense and on defense. i am just hoping you could do a video of his lack of hustle both on the defense and offensive ends of the court. not to mention in transition not even coming back past half court. thanks
@@AlikStansberry I think you mean the last 2 decades. If they actually draft well (For once) the next couple years, or simply get lucky in the draft and get a top 3 pick this year and/or next year, what's to say they can't be good in 5 plus years? Nobody thought the Nuggets would be this good five years ago. And now they'll be a 50 plus win team probably for most of the 2020's.
As a Miami Heat fan who always know of this team but never really thought of their destructive capabilities because they never amounted to anything because of being in the Eastern conference with Michael Jordan this video was nice

I love this type format bro great vid ...can you do a video on the 89-94 Knicks and how close we where ...that stupid ass Mark Jackson tradeis why we never got a ring in my humble opinion
Spo should use and show this video to inspire Jimmy Butler, Bam and the rest of the Miami Heat players for the upcoming NBA finals. As successful as Pat Riley, you can tell he has gone thru so many ups and downs. Thats why when he says something its deep and very inspiring!
My city doesn't have a team so adopted the Heat in their expansion year as one of my teams(Bucks) and have followed them ever since. I used those 90's Heat teams on NBA Live back in the day.
In simple terms it was two things MJ and the brawl with the Knicks which led to player suspensions in 1997 the Heat dodged a bullet because of Suspensions. the first-year Knicks get revenge in 1998
Jamal Mashburn suffered so many injuries he failed to provide his true potential to the Heat. Mashburn in Charlotte was an all star & explosive scorer.... Thats was the thing that Riley was expecting from him. Heat was always lacking scoring with Mashburn if he is injured since Mourning & Hardaway were the only consistent scorer of the team.
I like vids on the teams who came up short but the title is so misleading. In the 96-97 season, they probably would have lost to the Knicks without the suspensions, but whatever they happened and the knicks lost, kudos to the heat. But then to go on and say losing 4-1 to the Bulls is moral victory cause the heat made them shoot bad is... weird. Cool , so the Bulls played bad and still wiped the floor with them. And then underachieving in the playoffs in the next 4 years what the team is known for. This is like when the Hawks won 61 games that year and everyone knew they had Zero shot at winning the title. That's how those Miami teams were. They were good regular season teams but they were never destined to beat Jordan or contend. I would love for you to do a vid on the mid 90s to early 2000s Pacers teams. Those are teams that were destined to challenge for a title and ran into Jordan, Shaq/Kobe and then sadly their best chance was the year the Malice in the palace happened.
yup they never beat the Knicks in 96 without PJ Brown dirty move against Charlie Ward. And Stern handing down this unjust suspensions against Ewing and Starks for game 6 and 7.
I agree with u my Pacers get no love and I feel like we would have gave the Heat problems during that time period. It’s crazy we didn’t win at least one championship. The 98 ECF the Bulls got a lot of help from refs in that series....
Those suspensions were good for the Heat in the short run but bad in the long run. The problem was they never legitimately beat the Knicks in '97 so they didn't overcome them mentally. I think even they knew in the back of their heads that they wouldn't have won that series without the suspensions. The Knicks on the other hand were filled with rage and had so much motivation to give it there all everytime they played Miami due to the suspensions. In an alternate universe that fight never happens and Miami loses the series in '97. Miami then takes a year or two finally overcome the Knicks. They prevail and who knows what comes from there. I do believe if the fight never happens that the knicks would have never had the fire and motivation to beat Miami every time they played them.
multiWitz yes we was I just can’t believe we didn’t win a championship during that time period. It’s crazy growing up I would have never have thought that teams like the Cavs Mavericks and Raptors would win a championship before us. Because we were so good back then it’s just crazy thinking about it. Now I’m hearing rumors we might lose or trade Victor it’s tough being a Pacers fan....
Seriously? The Miami Heat did not make quick work of the Magic in the ‘97 first round. Penny pushed that series to a decisive game and was arguably the best player in that series. The fact the Heat played the max amount of playoff games heading into the ECF was part of why they didn’t push the Bulls further. Might want to tighten up the content editing.
Even back then, Pat Riley looks like a mafia boss.
A Mafia Boss has guts and honor. Not something Pat the Rat had after he abandoned New York by fax machine.

The late 90s was when I first started watching the NBA;
and those Heat-Knick series always had me glued to the TV.
(even though I'm a Hawks fan)
This was my favorite team growing up, I feel like their best chance at a title was during that lockout season. It was supposed to be San Antonio vs Miami (assuming they beat NY and get through the East). That Allan Houston bounce still haunts me as one of the worst sports memories in my life lol
Theres no question that Miami would have won. They had the defensive players and team to match up against spurs.
I really dont care what kind of content you put out cause you do a great job of telling the story and giving context to everything. I'll watch everything you put out. Some of the best historical content on UA-cam.
10:50 Well, we'll always remember those brawls with the Knicks too. It's too bad about Mourning's kidney troubles. That team was actually coming together pretty well.
tim hardaway's injuries ruined them in 2000 and 2001...he was so bad in the big games...he should of been benched...probably why hes not in the hall of fame...everyone remembers that first about him cause its the last thing he did really
Bruh. This was so good. You summed it up perfectly. Those teams were great teams. And the match ups were always going to be physical and we loved every minute of it. It brought back so many memories... lol
He probably forgot the first round hasn't always been seven games.
That's 90s bball kids, see how physical it was, this was my favorite lineup, timmy and alonzo.
Lol
Those red Miami Heat jerseys are one of the top jerseys ever
Great video, as a heat fan I suffered through all this... still seeking therapy for that Allan Houston shot.. lets not forget Mashburn was a no show against Chicago
2:47 All 3 Eastern all-star centers are from Georgetown.
Enjoyed the video. I always like looking back at other good teams who didn't quite make it
This the heat team that got me liking the Miami Heat as my favorite basketball team.
Probably the most forgotten powerhouse team in the 1990's NBA Eastern Conference, the only time people think about the late 90's Miami Heat teams is their playoffs rivalry with the New York Knicks where they have four straight years of playoffs meetings.
And the knicks dominated no matter what happened they knocked miami out more.
truth truth and the Knicks have been the laughing stock of the sports world for the last 20 years while Miami got multiple rings and countless playoff runs...
@3:00 Quick work of the Magic in 97? u crazy? Penny put them on the chopping block and had em on their heels to 5 games... this was actually a warning sign of things to come
Great video - great job
More of these! There are great teams that never got their ring, and still had a profound effect on the league. In particular, the teams coached by Rick Adleman who's offensive style and schemes were incredibly influential on the game today. His Kings and Blazers teams were incredible. Hell, D'Antoni said in his 2017 coach of the year speech "I've stolen so much from Rick Adleman over the years that it's embarrassing."
This video was great keep it up
MJ was in everybody's way in the 90s. And the Knicks were just a huge thorn at the Heat's side in that decade.
Nice vid. Keep em coming sir!
Yeah they had Scottie Pippen and the 'Kobe Stopper' Rueben Robinson
KennyD Rasheed Wallace was unbelievably good that series.
no one mentions the 2000 ron harper game winner in portland game 3 1-1 with game 4 in portland...changed the entire series ...la loses that game the blazers win in 6...game 7 was never suppose to happen
Put this upload in a museum. It contains a feel good moment for the Knicks . This deserves to be saved for all the ages
99 was their best shot of going to the Finals in that era.
Bro You Neva Disappoint Me Wit Yo Videos ‼️
Great story to do a video on. But it hurts watching my Heat every year in the Playoffs then.
Great video.. was a huge Heat fan as a kid. Loved watching Tim Hardaway
The late 90s Heat are like the 70s and 80s Vikings.
Great vid! Imo one of ya best ones 💯
Thank you for making this!!!! Those late 90’s Heat team was great!!! Man were they good
this video makes me appreciate what jordan did in the 90’s even more so. these teams in the 90’s were so well build and very physical especially in the Eastern Conference. many teams have had bad match ups in nba history but against mike there was no bad match because he overcame any obstacles. the small intangibles he possessed were incredible and i think that’s what made Tim Duncan an incredible winner aswell. their fundamentals of the game were unmatched & that separates a runner up and the winner in close series/games
Agreed Duncan being able to beat the Shaq-Kobe Lakers in '03 always stands out to me. Very few could overcome a tough obstacle like those Laker teams but Duncan found a way.
Nice of you to show some love for the 2011 mavs.
Great work!!
Great video man
LOW you need to have a patreon, you deserve it.
i dont know where else to post this. but its about time someone does a video on the amount of time LeBron walks and or stands around during a game. ive seen so many times how the announcers pump up james and say how many minutes he plays in playoff series yet everytime i watch james he is literally standing flat footed with his arms at his side on offense and on defense. i am just hoping you could do a video of his lack of hustle both on the defense and offensive ends of the court. not to mention in transition not even coming back past half court. thanks
You have a great understanding of the history of the game, and a cool voice.
This was a good vid. I remember those Heat teams. They were amongst my all-time favorites.
Basketball with gutwrench suplexes... man, i miss those days
Found ur channel cpl days ago and really enjoy ur breakdown of multiple things. I like the ones were teams waste draft picks.
I’m a big heat fan but we could never get passed the damn Knicks
At least for now New York is trash for the next decade or two,
Yup, the only time the Heat did was because NY's best players got suspended.
Henny Lopez fax
@@AlikStansberry I think you mean the last 2 decades. If they actually draft well (For once) the next couple years, or simply get lucky in the draft and get a top 3 pick this year and/or next year, what's to say they can't be good in 5 plus years? Nobody thought the Nuggets would be this good five years ago. And now they'll be a 50 plus win team probably for most of the 2020's.
@Elijah Ruderman that's actually what I meant. Sometimes I may word things out a little wierd.
Great video as always LOW 💯💯
Great Video.
Good video! Im not sure if you have done so already, but could you make a video about the SuperSonics of the early to mid 90's ?
pleasure to watch
(brought back memories)
do keep them coming!
Nice video i love the late 90s Heat.
As a Miami Heat fan who always know of this team but never really thought of their destructive capabilities because they never amounted to anything because of being in the Eastern conference with Michael Jordan this video was nice
Great video
This is a great video.
Man I grew up loving this team !!! Heat Nation ...
Would have never known about teams like this. If you don’t go far, you’re quickly forgotten
Awh man I miss these
Marcell droppin heat as usual!
These are great stories that should be told. Thanks L.O.W.
great video legend of simping love you
You know what's weird Alonzo morning kidney disease
Chris Bosh blood clots
What are they doing over there
It's Miami... most likely coke
harsh practices....ask anyone....the three best bigs they had all have broken down in miami under riley...the practices are legendary to get into shape he basically makes bigs collapse and do more than other teams do in practice...
@@MasterJP28 duh it better than Pepsi
@@kethacox6530 facts! That's why I love it here!
I definitely enjoyed it everything was well content
Love the vid, keep them coming!
I'm a Heat fan beacuse of these.
Amazing video! Massive love from London, England! I love this videos! Thanks Low🔥👊🏽
Well made video, keep it up you have a Bright future my friend.
A video about the Bucks during the Sidney Moncrief era would be interesting.
On point 🥊
I love this type format bro great vid ...can you do a video on the 89-94 Knicks and how close we where ...that stupid ass Mark
Jackson tradeis why we never got a ring in my humble opinion
Can you do a video like this about the 2000s era Sacramento Kings, or the Atlanta Hawks or Milwaukee Bucks in the 80s
In simple terms it was two things MJ and the brawl with the Knicks which led to player suspensions in 1997 the Heat dodged a bullet because of Suspensions. the first-year Knicks get revenge in 1998
This vid was great. I would definitely watch more like it👍👍
Ey i saw you in Agents vid lmao didnt even know that was you till he said “LEGEND OF LOSING”
Damn imagine if Tim and Zo dethroned Jordan
D WADE IS THE GOAT STOP BEING STUPID
Tim and Zo 😂😂😂😂😂💀
Christian Soldier didn’t they nearly get beat by penny Hardaway in 97?
I do believe if the fight never happens that the knicks would have never had the fire and motivation to beat Miami every time they played them.
that 97-98 pacers was something.
the only team that took bulls to game 7.
multiWitz yes we was I just can’t believe we didn’t win a championship during that time period. It’s crazy growing up I would have never have thought that teams like the Cavs Mavericks and Raptors would win a championship before us. Because we were so good back then it’s just crazy thinking about it. Now I’m hearing rumors we might lose or trade Victor it’s tough being a Pacers fan....
As a Spurs fan I was so glad we didn't have to face the Heat in the finals of '99.
And they don't make quick work of the magic it went the whole series
Low dropping all 1/10’s, good shit!
The Knicks got in they way. People forget but you jus showed us that the knicks beat them. They couldnt get too the bulls. Wrong title.
God watching this put me back into watching my Clippers flounder against the Rockets ugh
Hey man where do you get the music you use on your vids
I'm still waiting when will Tim Hardawy be inducted to the HOF
buto1118 Keep waiting, cuz Ben Wallace isn’t in the HoF.
The 90s Heat team was scary good
Just think if Howard's contract hadn't been disallowed.
I noticed that the picture at 6:24 was from the NBA 2K11’s intro😂😂 #IconicPic
I love watching that Miami Heat era, wish I had lived during most of it
They lost to the knicks mostly in thst era. How quick people forget. Gotta get past the knicks then the bulls. Lets not forget.
truth truth how we know you fucking idiot
