- Indian Railways YDM4 6200 staggers up the 1 in 50 Western Ghats in Kerala, South India on load 9 with the Quillon - Tirunelveli 'express'! Shortly afterwards, 6200 was transfered (probably by popular demand from the drivers, it didn't seem to like hills!) from whence it came, back to Mysore and the flat Charmaranjanagar line where it worked until the line closed for re-gauging in Jan '07. Where next? Mozambique? Angola? Sudan? Senegal? Edit Jan 2010: This loco is now a part of the Mysore Railway Museum collection and is being slowly enveloped by weeds to the east of Mysore station. I'll have it if they don't want it!
Never can forget the sweet note of the ALCO YDM4. In my opinion it is the best LOCO sound ever! Thanks a lot for sharing this video.
Cool sounds..........
Excellent capture... very nostalgic sweet music. Feel sorry for the assistant, hand sanding!!
Thanks for sharing this, wish I was there........
The Guy climbed out so as to "hand sand" the rails. Bags of spare sand are provided
Awesome video!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
'Banker' is needed for this route....!
Sometimes the engine note changes when the field divert kicks in, or one of the stages of field divert.
Sometimes its the engine governor/ control system regulating power I think, and other times its the driver backing off due to slipping...I think!
Malaysia one. Painted with 'Z' logo. I hope it will be KTMB's.
Why the differnt sounding engine efforts?
Wheels slipping and having to back off throttle?
Why did that guy climb out?
all of the dying breed.. brilliant set of machinery though...
Lagi best kalo KTMB beli.
Ini macam kat Taiping-Padang Rengas je. Tarik tren CIMA.
